Back at the day when they released this (their first album) and the Silence (their second album) they were a hell of a live band 🤘 For truly astonishing stuff, check the album version of the song "Destruction Preventer" from the same album as this and the music video for "Wolf and Raven" from the album Silence
Saw Sonata Arctica live last year, still a great band. All the audience was singing along to this song. Paid in Full or The Cage from Sonata Arctica are great songs to check out. I also highly recommend Stratovarius - Hunting High and Low (there's an official video somewhere)
Sonata Arctica is having many kind of styles, but they are known as power metal band. One of my favorite bands. If you want to check out some heavyer, but still awesome melodic metal, you can check out band called Amorphis, and their songs, such as ”Bee”, ”Moon” or perhaps ”Dark Waters” …but when you want to check out perhaps little bit harder and still melodic metal, I recommend to check out the band called Insomnium. Easy start to listen them would be ”While we sleep” or ”Heart like a grave”. Both of these has very beautiful melodies, with some quality Finnish heavy metal. Enjoy 🙂
