How nice, many thanks for sharing. I saw a heron land on our neighbour’s roof terrace a little while back. As well as the usual small birds and doves which we feed and water, we have seen quite a few bats while walking the dog locally late at night and very late out on the pool terrace one night a large owl took off from one of our trees. I knew there was one about as we frequently see the quite large pellets on the floor. 👍
We have often seen bats on the Campo around Camposol D but they are too fast and the light is too poor to get a decent picture. You were lucky to see the large owl. I have only seen one which was an Eagle Owl which flew over us one night as we were driving back from Bolnuevo along the motorway to Camposol. I have seen a number of little owls around the Campo. Well done for putting food and water out for the birds. They really need it in the drought conditions. They can be quite entertaining to watch.
@@fionakillick6743 Feeding and watering the birds is something I have always done. We buy seeds, mealworms when we can etc for them and occasionally they get a treat of something a little different from the kitchen. That owl was amazing, I couldn’t see exactly what it was as it was dark and the moon was behind him/her. All I heard was the launch and then silence as he flapped and climbed out of the garden. Amazing how such a large bird can be so silent in take-off.
@@kevtheargonut We also put food and water out for the birds. We have seed feeders, fat feeders and mealworms plus a bird bath. It is amazing how silent an owl is. On New Years day this year we went for a walk around Staines Moor and there were 8 short eared owls flying around silently. One of them flew over my head and I did not hear a sound. Amazing birds.
great video showing some of the nice walks in our local area👍
Thank you Steve. Going for walks in the countryside around Camposol is something I enjoy. Wonderful views with wonderful wildlife.
