As a lady who loves working with her hands, and as a lifetime watch enthusiast, this is very exciting to see young people pursue a profession they genuinely love. Bravo!
Great video for the channel Marc! I feel very proud to say that for once, it seems like even the “concerns” regarding the nature of this video is very civilised and constructive. As a man, I fully understand and agree to some extend the concerns that they have expressed, that equality is not about putting men down and promoting women for the sake of it for no reason other than to counter play a culture we know is sometimes discriminative in certain industries or even cultures. But in this case, reporting on Ms Murti’s achievements and hearing her share her thoughts is highly valued, because this is the same opportunity a male colleague might have had. I fully understand how some of the guys have shared their concerns and they definitely have the right to, as in this day and age.. “feminism” has tarnished the image of the many True, Great women around us. And I think it is pretty amazing that many of the commentors have expressed their thoughts in such a respectful and tactful manner. I enjoyed this video because it was done with such professionalism, with questions that were useful and does not specifically make gender equality a point that detracts from the reasons we want to hear from an aspiring watchmaker. A great channel with the right heart, that produces great content. Thanks WatchesTV !
Really interesting interview, awesome to hear something from the future watchmakers. And thumbs up for not making that very skilled young lady stutter her way through english.
Great video! Glad she won and glad you shared her side of the story! Keep up the wonderful videos and all the best to her and hope she brings something unique to horology!
I wonder what motives women to consider watchmaking in the first place. In Besarta's case her father was a watchmaker so he obviously inspired her to some degree, but for most women are the companies going to the schools at the early grade levels to try and get them interested like in the US in the area of STEM?
Really impressed with this young lady. Not to state the obvious but she is adorable. Beauty and Brains are a hard combination to beat! All the best of luck to her!
I like your channel but I have to respectfully disagree with you here. It should not be a matter of concern whether she's a woman or not. She is clearly talented, but I don't care about her sex; I care about whether she is capable of making great timepieces, which she clearly is. I've seen several women featured in the previous videos, so the point that women are capable of watchmaking was already made ;).
Shah Legno Yes, and I stated that twice in my comment. I'm an academic in STEM, and whenever I hear about 'crushing gender stereotypes' I am very very very suspicious. Because in academia, 'crushing gender stereotypes' always equates to flat-out discrimination towards men.
Like I mentioned in the video, the watchmaking industry is a pretty macho one, really not that many women in senior positions anywhere actually, but I know that in many other industries you will unfortunately witness the same. This is the main reason why i simply wanted to put on the forefront some of these women, because I'm really happy to see a new generation fo women getting more and more the recognition they totally deserve.
She said she is of Yugoslav origin, not Kosovar like the subtitles said! I don't speak French but she clearly said Yugoslav i heard that, she never said Kosovar. WTF who did the subtitles?
OK. So first one word of criticism: There is nothing scandalous about having few women CEOs in an industry which, 30 years ago, only seemed to interest a minority of women... And then a question: What exactly did Besartha win her GPHG recognition for (Not for being female, I suppose...)?
I understand, but not even talking at the CEO level, the number of women with senior positions is very very very low... Regarding the GPHG, this prize rewards the best student in his/her 1st year of studies. Best to you
Not macho. It's just men tend to be interested in the mechanical and women in the personal. It's science. Biology. It's not that women can't; most women don't. It's great seeing women take an interest in this.
Really sexy to have lady make watcher........ woooooh! I guessed there is a lot of lady watch maker in this trade just that we might know as we often see man working on the watches. Great video!
The only reason she's being interviewed is she's a female. So, on one side let us demand equality which I follow 100%. On the other side, don't then call someone out as special because of sexual orientation.
Depends on equality of "what" you demand. Opportunity yes absolutely but equality of outcome isn't doing us much good. Perhaps we should give equality a blindfold and stop the "Women in _______ "'
As a lady who loves working with her hands, and as a lifetime watch enthusiast, this is very exciting to see young people pursue a profession they genuinely love. Bravo!
Many thanks and very happy you enjoyed it! Best to you
So great of her to follow in her father's footsteps. He must be so proud!
Really heartened to see females represented in watchmaking! Great video!
Thanks a lot!
Amazing enthusiasm. I am sure we will hear about Besarta in the future, but this time on the other side of this watchmaking ladder! Best of luck.
That's very of you, thanks for the comment!
I like women like I like my watches, complicated
;)
Wonderful interview! Her enthusiasm is infectious and I am so glad she’s doing this because she is interested and not trying to prove something.
Many thanks for this nice comment. All the very best to you

That should be long time ago... They will bring freshness and new perspective to watch industry ...
Really impressed with this young lady. Not to state the obvious but she is adorable. Beauty and Brains are a hard combination to beat! All the best of luck to her!
It makes you want to go back to school and start a completely different career, doesn't it?

She won the prestigious prize award, that was show enough his special talent in watchmaking.

The subtitles are right, she says she is from kosovo
Bravo Besarta, très cool. Je me sens un peu moins ringard avec mes quelques outils d'horlogers de débutant à 37 ans ;-)

Is she wearing a Tudor?
redbird963 I was thinking the same. A red black bay heritage i think.

There are also many women interested in this profession (watchmaker), but they are often discriminated against or harassed at work!
I hope this continues so that more women take interest in real watches and not just like fashion watches !
It would be great if she chose to work with Audemars Piguet!
EXCELENTE PROFISSÃO 👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 🇧🇷
So cute watch maker!
I have to admit as a straight guy I, would be a little intimidated if I would worked with her.
I have a crush
Really sexy to have lady make watcher........ woooooh!

Vive Besarta !
There you go!!!
Rather forward of you Marc to ask the girl "what turns you on"......
She is pretty
Une black bay = femme de gout
UNITAS
Besa më e mira . I love you.😘
Female bonus.
The only reason she's being interviewed is she's a female. So, on one side let us demand equality which I follow 100%. On the other side, don't then call someone out as special because of sexual orientation.
Did you miss the part where she won the prestigious prize ? Btw, being a woman is not a sexual orientation.
Yes, but that's precisely the point, show that against many stereotypes about a mechanical world there are indeed plenty of women involved.
Depends on equality of "what" you demand. Opportunity yes absolutely but equality of outcome isn't doing us much good. Perhaps we should give equality a blindfold and stop the "Women in _______ "'
She won the prestigious prize award, u miss that point? it's not about sexual orientation specialty for this interview to happened..
that was the point of the clip
Who tf cares lol
theres something so classy, with a lovely lady, in white coat, making Time pieces!! Bravo!!!!
