We did prepare as well for our first daughter, but when the second one came we just gave up a lot of material things so I could stay home with both of the girls. It was a worthwhile sacrifice but now that the last is in college, it's not always easy to get back in the work force.(Of course that's not your issue, but for others who may read this.
