Mollie B & Ted Lange are joined by their drummer, Dana Lindblad, as they perform the polka that everyone knows, The Beer Barrel Polka!
Through the beauty of technology, Mollie and Ted recorded their parts in Ohio, then sent the audio to MN where Dana recorded his drum parts, and then sent them back to Mollie and Ted in Ohio for final assembly in the video.... all done over the internet!

Mollie B is the host of the "Mollie B Polka Party" on RFD-TV (airing 2 hours every week) and a member of the International Polka Association Hall Of Fame.
Ted Lange is a two-time GRAMMY-Nominee and is also a member of the International Polka Association Hall of Fame.
Together, they host the Mollie B Polka Party Radio Show heard on SiriusXM Radio, Channel 147, (Sundays, 11:00am to 1:00pm EST) and www.kneiradio.com/ (Sundays, 8:00-10:00pm EST).
Mollie B & Ted lead the award-winning band SqueezeBox. The band has become one of the most popular and well-known bands specializing in live folk dance music and entertaining stage shows. Currently based in NW Ohio, their performances span multiple genres with a repertoire of over 800 songs, and solid vocals in English, Polish, German and Czech. Squeezebox is known for their ability to play "something for everyone", and easily adapts to any venue, ranging from town festivals, polka festivals, ethnic festivals including Polish, Czech, and German festivals and Oktoberfests, to weddings, anniversary parties, church festivals, state and county fairs and music festivals.
Recently, they appeared in the Warner Brothers film "The Mule," starring Clint Eastwood. They currently perform over 120 engagements a year in over 18 states a year, including an annual Caribbean Cruise.

I enjoy it very much because it brought me back to the liberation of Italy by the Allies forces.It was played and danced for months after the liberation with great joy of all .Thank you wonderful people I keep listening your performance with pleasure the lady is not only beautiful but she plays several instruments with perfect skill.

This song and the Prune Song were two of my father's favorite that he had me play. I was supposed to play The Beer Barrel Polka for a recital but my brother Floyd was sick so my mother drove me around to deliver the Telegraph Herald Newspaper.
My 80 year old drummer husband says Dana is about the best drummers he has heard in a long time. My husband played in Polka bands for almost 70 years.

I like the end when you switch to Polish style. Bill Flynn called it bellow shakes and trumpets blaring. Definitely my favorite style of Polkas.
The best performers of the Beer Barrel Polka I have heard. Wow, Molly B. Multi talented Saxophone, trumpet, keyboards and singer too. This band is great. Rivals to the Rheingold Polka Band.

Another great arrangement Ted & Mollie! Really liked Ted's keyboard enhancements at the 3 minute mark. Welcome back Dana! As good as he is, Al Esus was giving Ted fits, so it was nice to have a "live" drummer again. In 2002, we saw the sheet music for Beer Barrel Polka painted on one entire exterior wall at the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas.Many thanks again for the videos! Greg & Ruth Swanson Maplewood MN.

Hi Mollie and Ted,
I am 70 years old, and I love your music. When I was a kid, back in the 50's and 60's.in Milwaukee. Wi, when we went to weddings, they always had a polka band, or at least, a band that could play a few polkas. Your music takes me back to those days in the same way that classic rock n roll does.
I am an amateur song writer and I have worked out a "great" polka song on my Yamaha Tyros 5 workstation.
Here is my question for Ted. Can you make a short video on how you play those great fills or licks on your accordian? If you could demonstrate the one or ones you use most often, that would be terrific. Thanks🙂
I have to make an admission to you Mollie. I am not much of a polka fan because I grew up in the Deep South where polka music wasn't much played. I did hear some German polka music played while I was in the U.S. Army stationed in Heidelberg, West Germany. I now live with my wife and son in upstate NY where your show is aired every Saturday and Wednesday evenings on RFD-TV. We sometimes watch your show after watching some country music shows on the channel and while my wife who admittedly is also not a fan of polka music, enjoys watching your show also.

An all time Classic in all German Folk music in more ways than one; but what many people still don’t know is that this excellent Polka actually goes by another title & a Very different meaning in fact
This song is actually called “Roasmunde”
And it was originally a Czech sang called Skoda Lasky.
