I got a horrifying text one time. I was at home on a Saturday and just fired up the grill to BBQ some meats. Had a fresh beer in hand when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. That's when I saw it. The words "Kevin is sick and we need someone to cover his shift". Before I could reply, I *accidentally* threw my phone in the pool. That was a close one.

This is like the modern day version of sitting around a campfire hearing scary stories and I'm all here for it.
Speaking of camping...My family has kept trailers at the same campground for about 15 years. On a recent weekend, my adult niece Emma and her friend arrived there before the rest of us. They took the golf cart out for a ride-around just before sunset. Emma's phone began to 'blow up' with many garbled texts all from the same number , two counties over. Not in her list of contacts. "I miss my pretty girl. I LYSM" Emma freaked out "WHO THE F IS THIS?!" The reply njviwurebv ur gma"....Grandma had passed away six months earlier. The phone number traced to a car dealership none of us had ever been to.

Just reading the words triggers my ptsd. My ex husband would say these words just before he would start an hour long melt down abusing me mentally and physically. He mostly gave me the silent treatment for a whole day, and just before I fell asleep, he said “Camilla, we need to talk”, or “Camilla, I have to ask you something.” Even to this day, 5 years after I am still terrified to go to bed, and when i finally sleep I have horrible flashback nightmares and/or sleep paralysis. I never watch horror movies. I lived in one and still do💔
I got a text once. "I'm in your living room." This was odd because I was in my living room at the time, and probably would've noticed. I got another message "Sorry, wrong number."

Same. Some channels would tell each of these stories in 30 mins instead of 1 min, leaving all kinds of unnecessary details in. Don't me wrong, there's an audience for it so it's great those exist, but I personally love the 2-4 stories in 10 mins much more and every now and then a video like this is very welcome too. Still feels like full stories.

The amount of security measures that is often overlooked is, for lack of a better word, astounding.
Im definitely someone who'd do that. I'm terrible at knowing what I need to leave permissions on for. I used to have location turned off permanently but I use GPS a lot & it became a pain.

Exactly why social media tends to scare me, like FB and others that have some of your personal info on. Plus now people can call/text your cell phone and it shows up as a familiar number or a local number. I rarely answer calls from my phone and delete any texts I find even a little bit shady. It’s scary how easy it is to get peoples name, #, address, place of work, etc just by paying a small amount of money too. You have to be vigilant and stay safe.

I disabled the message app on FB. I would get the craziest messages from ppl I don’t know. I am never on there anymore. Just keep it there for some game log ins. Social media. Toxic.

Some narrators on spooky YT channels use a very specific cadence, like a fourth grader reading a user manual for a lawn mower each sentence read the exact same way. You actually know how to read in a way that doesn’t cause ear fatigue. I also love the high quality content. Glad I’ve discovered you channel. 😊
#7 I've had missed calls on my phone from local numbers and called them back after they left messages like they knew me. I'd call them back to see who it was and it would be random people, like one lady answered and said she was at work and didn't call me so I told her someone did from her number so she was calling the phone company to see if they could figure it out. She thanked me for bringing it to her attention
I get bombarded all day long with calls from local numbers too. They're all scammers. They use real phone numbers now.
That has happened to me before back in 2017 it was scary

Spoof calls.
Scammers can access your phone/number and call others from it. So it appears to them like its not suspicious and they'll pick up. This happened to me. I cant remember what it's called, ghosting the phone or something.

The most disturbing text I've ever received was from my electric company saying my bill is due in 5 days 😱
Ok here's one: we had a huge problem with my sister on drugs for a long time. Her bf passed away quite suddenly and my mom and I ended up having to go to her state to help her pack his stuff and (again) beg her to come home. And while we were there things got worse. We found out a bunch of stuff about her; possible gang involvement, things like that. We ended up getting her to go to rehab and came back home. A few days after I got home, my wife and I were up extremely late watching a movie. At 3 am I got a message that said "Hello Kim." Kim is my mom's name. No one had my mom's name or my number that I was aware of. The person never answered phone calls or return texts, despite the message having been read.
These chilling stories really work. I’m over here paranoid getting water in my house lights off, in a safe neighborhood.

I started getting these voicemails in middle school (when I got my first phone) for some 'Janina Carolina' who was being prosecuted and asked to report to court. As a kid it kinda freaked me out. They only recently stopped calling but that went on for 10 years or so.
I do not believe it first of all court systems dont prosecute you when your ready they will put a warrant out for your arrest not give you 10 years to anwser thats 1 2 even if they did do you think that statute of limitations would kick in

@@Fermin-hw5pd Never told my parents. There wasn't much to do about it anyways. I wasn't going to call them back, and they didn't call often enough to really bother me. She was probably just dodging a traffic ticket or something if they put that little effort into finding her. Don't know if she ever showed up to court though.

It's a case of determining the ratio of native horror story listener's, to non native, horror story listener's. That'll truly determine either the increasement or decreasement in views and likes and in turn, the increasement in subs.
Re: the story of: "I think I killed him"--it IS actually possible for a hacker to "intercept" a phone number that's called by a given party--- then for the hacker to impersonate the person that the caller is trying to reach. Something to think about...I know because my phone is hacked by an Organized Stalking group.

Mine gas been hack by fed agents before about 10 years ago. I. Live in a big mysterious area so ni cell signal shortage. My phone would cracklesI'd hear static, & like someone picked up on another line, which is we're for a celll phone 📱.

This was a really good video but I have to be that guy and say that it was really hard to hear the text message transcription through my headphones while at work. Whatever audio adjustment you did on it made it kind of hard to hear. All the other voice audio in the video was clear. I love to listen to this stuff as I walk around and work but this one was kind of hard to make out.

This probably will go unnoticed but honestly and as someone who's been working in voice over for about 6 years, your narration in the beginning where you projected your voice was a whole lot better. For the amateurs this tone is better but projecting the voice is always better than vocal fry. Great content though!

My 19 year old son got a horrifying text one Saturday a couple months ago. The number had a Los Angeles area code and just contained several pictures of human remains in trash bags in the woods; severed arms and legs, a human head, and several bodies covered in blood hanging out of a open car door.
He brought me the phone and showed me immediately. I had no idea what to makes of it. The pictures were extremely gruesome and disturbing. I had him forward me the photos and I did a reverse image search on them. I discovered they were originally published in 2016 by a regional Mexican news agency. So they were all real.
Near as I can tell, someone found them online and was getting his jollies by sending them to random phone numbers. My son just happened to get lucky I guess.
Just thankful my son was old and in works in emergency services. He’s used to seeing blood and guts. Glad it wasn’t some 10 year old that got it. People, don’t give your young kids cell phones. It gives a lot of perverted freaks access to them who otherwise could reach them.
