  • Golfshake's Kevin Paver & Ryan Rastall took a trip to Amendoeira Resort. Whilst there, they took advantage of the facilities and headed out to play the Faldo Course.
Designed by Sir Nick Faldo with strategic play in mind this 6598m Par 72 championship course demands careful positioning to score well. Nick says of the course "The land at Amendoeira is dramatic and the project has the potential to be a real talking point in the Algarve. With so many courses in the region, that's no mean feat".

Loved this blog. Haven't played the course yet. My wife and I are planning a trip in November and we are looking forward to a week of great golf!

    Enjoyed the video.
Played the Faldo this summer with my 15 year old son, hits it a mile, and two single HCP friends.
Played of the yellows, my hcp 22 and certainly not a long hitter. Had to hit carreer best drives often to make the fairways, and I did. Only lost one ball. A great golf course, but for a relaxed holiday round there are a lot easier ones.
Will play the Faldo again on the next visit though.

Played the Faldo in high winds.. brutal!! Faldo was a great course, absolutely stunning and I look forward to playing it again in less windy conditions. A definite must play course.. Connor jr is also 👌

Hi Dan, I know it's been 3 years since this video so you will be wondering why I'm responding to your comment now. I'm heading to Albufeira in January and was curious to know if either the Faldo course or the O'Connor course are walkable? I hate buggies and prefer to walk.

In my opinion the O'Connor is a tougher course for different reasons. That said, the golf here is fantastic and thats why we (me + 9 mates) keep coming back each year. Highly reccomended to anyone heading to Portugal for a golf week/weekend. Good review.

      Hi Gary,
O’Connor is walkable, Faldo not so. I would say if you walk Faldo you’ll be up around the 30k+ step mark. Distance between tees is the main reason. That said, people do walk it but it’s a fair old slog 👍🏼

@@leechilds7503 Hey Lee, thanks for your response. I think I'll stick with the O'Connor course then. I'm also planning to play Salgados and Pine Cliffs. I'll be in Albufeira for 2 months and want to play 3 times/week. Did you get the chance to play Salgados or Pine Cliffs? If yes, how would you compare them to the O'Connor course?

Doing a little bit of course research as I'm heading to Albufeira in January. Your video was really helpful. I enjoy walking courses when I play. In your opinion, are the Faldo or O'Connor courses walkable?

      Just but buggy preferable.
