- My lavelier mic battery died on me during filming, without warning. I didn’t realize that until I had done quite a bit of work, so please forgive the silent but subtitled segment.
My dad was a huge fan of yours when I was a kid and it’s really rad to get to see some of your tips and tricks now. Keep killing it buddy.
Thank you for sharing this. I’m grateful to be here on UA-cam, it’s a great platform
Billy is a master fabricator and mechanic. it’s refreshing to see a true professional building vs the assclown bolt together “ builders” from certain tv shows.
Thank you, this is a high compliment. I appreciate you being here & sharing your thoughts.
Yes sir, Mr. Lane . Been following you and Mr. Larry since way back done likewise on the road to recovery ur vidjas help me.
I remember first reading about you , Larry and Jesse in Iron Horse magazine when it was edited by David Snow.
This was before you all became TV-superstars ( that I watched for the first time in reruns on here , youtube , as I stopped watchin' TV since 1989 )
It 's really good to see you working on all these bikes that most of us ride instead of the high dollar bikes like twenty and some years ago.
I do respect and love all the creativity you came up with back then ... Like you came from another planet, really!
Somehow I can Identify more with bikes like this Shovel , the Sturgis and also the Fatboy you just started workin' on .
I like how you share your knowledge with us in your home-made-videos.
This exactly what the : 'Disco-Channel' mised-out on.
My absolute favourite video is when you saved that kitten , real men are kind to animals.
Love and Respect!
SALUTE BILLY, YOUR A TRUE MASTER CRAFTSMEN IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT TRADES & IT’S A PLEASURE TO WATCH YOU WORK 👍🏼 W / R
This is where the $ is Billy, you doing your thing and talking as you go, priceless!
Im 45 , second Gen bike worker/builder/tinker'er/shop owner, Ive been messing around literally since 1987, at 10 when my mom n her ol man had a shop for a couple of years... and I still love seeing new ways, tips and tricks, methods to the madness from others.. I def appreciate these vids BillyLane.. keepem comn .
Awesome channel Billy… great seeing ya happy and healthy buddy…. Huge fan 👨🏽🔧🤘🏾
Nice to see you do it Billy. Regards from Ireland
The bike just sitting as is in the first shot is bad ass. Beautiful lines and beautiful engine. Wish it was my project.
So inspiring to watch the master at work!
True master craftsmanship!!! Your channel is one of the reasons I don't watch TV anymore!
It was Jesse James that got me into choppers but it was you that inspired me to build a bike. Your styles run the spectrum and every bike is mind blowing.
So glad to find you on UA-cam.
Details make the difference. Really nice work.
Excellent work my friend. Obviously not your first time. And yes, "choppers", its all about looking cool rolling down the highway. 😊
Thank you very much Mr. Lane, it's always a pleasure watching your videos, lots of knowledge every single time!
Cheers from Indonesia!
solid gold chopper content as always! I would be super stoked if you did a video like this on your signature, low-profile seats. Because those are dope!
I’m glad I found you on line. You and Larry were my favorites on Biker build-off. Your friendship blossomed on air and was genuine. None of the others showed true friendship like you two did. It’s something I’ll never forget.
This is solid chopper gold! Many Thanks.
You definitely are an artistic master! If I had a choice of a chopper built, it would be you hands down brother! God bless
Billy, I really like the patience vibe in this fab and your channel overall.
Nice work Billy !! Love your talent !!
Thank you
This is art kicking sciences ass!! Sweet pipes!
Good as ever nice job Billy 👍👍👍👍
Thanks, I love to make pipes
@@BillyLaneChoppers Ever tried the bending with heat thing? I tried it once, but had zero luck.. Maybe I didn't have enough heat, maybe the tubing wasn't "right", but it went nothing like the few geniuses I've seen on YT.. The Youshimura one makes it look like a piece of a cookie..
Dude, Billy i just seen the Psycho cycles sticker on your welding helmet. R. I. P. Indian Larry. Loved the bayonet bros.
You are one hell of a fabricator. Great to watch!!
Some real tight routing there! Have similar routing art on the sidewinder exhaust I fabbed for my VW rod. Nice work Billy as always and great to see traditional chopper building is alive and well and hardcore as hell!
Pretty cool I can relate as an electrician all my life I learned how to run conduit not many new guys can do it at least well anyhow. You have to have vision for it and I don't mean just eyesight when your building something like Billy here it takes vision experience and skills you acquire that comes with time nice work man !
Hey Billy I did custom exhaust on hot rods, street rods and just about anything else. How bad can you cut yourself on that pipe after using the tubing cutter. I visit Florida every winter been trying to find your new location but can’t. Man I would love to meet you brother. One of my bucket list things to try and do. Watching you work your magic is unreal. I wish you had from beginning to end videos on your new builds. Take care and stay safe.
Go to a Son's of Speed race and Mr. Lane will be there, I think his shop is in Tennessee now...btw
@@bryonkidder6199 Thank you bud. I’m getting older and slowing down a good bit. There a few things I wish I would have done sooner in life but we all know how that story goes. You take care and stay safe thanks again.
@@johnhall3860his shop is in Columbia TN now.
Looks bad ass man, really good work Billy, it be an honor to have a bike built by you man....
Very cool watching your work on you tube, keep it going man!
Thanks from East Tennessee Billy!
Looks like you have plenty of room to run the pipes on the opposite side. Those ones youre fabricating looks dope.
You're the man Billy, I've been watching you. Since the biker built off's awesome rides.
Those look awesome. The long front pipe actually looks super kool. I dig em! Rock on brother man,,,,DuBs,,,,,,
I am a big fan off your choppers and have been watching your bikes when you were on the build offs... Your style of choppers is the way I like correction love it. So cool!
I wish you the best man. With all the bullshit of life stand tall.
Quick tip to anyone watching this to save you some time. Instead of cutting strips of sheet metal and wrapping it around the 1 3/4 tubing to get it to mate to the 2” just goto the hardware store and grab a piece of 1 7/8 tubing and cut a piece off
Great video as usual I been wanting to build a custom set for my 68 flat side shovel for a few years luv the jig for keeping it where you want it got to make one of those. Ok no excuses now that I have watched the master show how it's done 👍
Dive into it, it’s so gratifying
@@BillyLaneChoppers Thanks man I will maybe I will start something new around the Summerville SC area ✌️
Very nice as usual, good Sir!
Damn those are some sweet pipes! Heck.
Hey Billy how are you brother? You are a true master of your profession and I admire the hell out of you! If you ever get to Florida would you consider helping a disabled brother out with putting some finishing touches on a long overdue project? I'm not looking for charity or a handout! I will do my best to help. I don't have the depth of knowledge that you do to finish it up. I want to ride with you just 1 time in my life before I'm no longer able to physically! Please consider it. Keep up your amazing work, and keep them wheels on the ground my friend. I hope to hear from you. sincerely Jason Smith.
Love the pipes! Awesome work as usual
This was helpful. I have a 900 Ironhead motor in an XR-750 chassis. I need to make a set of custom headers which go from the front/rear exhaust ports on the iron heads to the mufflers that came from a Scotty Parker race bike.
Glad it helps. I’ve met Scott, really nice guy
Can you still get to the timer cover screw for future adjustments or will the front exaust have to come off?
I gues if you have some sort of pointless iggy it isn't a big issue.
You’d need to loosen the pipe to get the timer cover off. This is a customer’s bike, & I like to use auto-advancing timers for customers without electric start. I actually prefer the difficulty of accessing the timer because, once set, it should seldom need to be adjusted. Two bolts & the head clamp get the pipe off quickly. Great question though
Thanks for the video, I have not made my own exhaust yet, and this video is just what I was looking for. So glad to see you out there still doing what you love... I have a small youtube channel building bikes. I'm actually building a Sportster trike right now.... I use evo bikes because i can fit them into my budget. Not old enough to be cool and too old to be expensive.
Cool pipes cool tricks
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
I'm your organic viewer start from biker build off❤❤❤
I love it, "I'll have it done within the hour", several hrs later. LOL. My wife knows, when I say it's only going to take me a few mins, that she will have to come fish me out of the garage, hrs later.
I tell my wife that all the time. She gets pretty angry
Awesome video's! Thank you!
Looks awesome Sir!
I like your style.
Thank for the content if it Wasn't for biker build off on Jesse j id never would have started fabricating an riding in general
Looking good 👍👍
Awesome video thanks
Looks awesome
Great video!
Love it 😀. Mark Tennessee
Great job bro 🤙
Use a box of bending mistakes they make some of the coolest exhaust pipes.
I do appreciate the skill of fabricating… although the chopper/bobber style doesn’t really do much for me.. Mr Lane certainly knows his craft and reflects in the bikes he produces.
Damn fine job brother been watching your stuff for A long time love you're bikes ride safe my friend
I always thought that keeping as close to equal lengths of pipe, when fabricating exhaust, created a more tunable motor with respect to the carburetor.
straight pipes on a bike, regardless of length offer almost no exhaust pulse scavenging. Rejet and tune, no big deal
I hope to God you have an apprentice in your shop learning all your knowledge. Be a shame not to pass all your abilities on to another generation.
Your thee builder man Billy Lane ,some how front cylinder exhaust pipe worked exhaust underneath
Pan head is a beautiful motor ,, the motor
In itself your hiding
Iconic motor with front cylinder pipe
It doesn’t look good
Thanks bro ✌️🎃
Just don’t get your girlfriend and your wife to hold those pipes at the same time lol😂😂😂
That's a really interesting welding helmet, and chance you could let me know which brand and model it is?
I like it alot!
You all way build bad ass bikes
Does Nick still work for you ?? Loving your videos, man
👍👍
Hey, when are you going to show those bikes that you had at Dayton?
Hay Billy off the subject but what do u think about a Thunder Mountain Firestone vs a big bog mastiff vs any big bear ...c I won't a factor pro street chopper .. I'm a
new subscriber 2 you're cannel I always liked choppers & won't a factory pro street chopper 2 ride a cross country please respond I
know you're busy but I would appreciate your opinion ride safe
enuff said brother
I'm looking for a nice tig 2 into 1 for my switchback. Any recommendations?
Bad ass
Totally should just dubbed the video with the lost sound.
Hey Billy, where do you get those pipes plated?
where is this shop ?
coulda flared the piped out with a hammer and anvil and there be no gap
no mounts for the pipes?
No, I super glue them to the heads
Ya but where’s the mufflers? 😂😂😂
I'm divorced and would like to come work for ya ..if you possibly need someone..like I said have mechanical experience being doing it all my life
S & S panhead engine?
No, it is a 1965 Harley-Davidson
Hey B , would the heat from the exhaust affect the air ratio being that close or would not make a difference?
Flip that frame upside down with single frame rail on bottom of bike then hang Harley engine from now top double frame 😊
👁️ ❤ 👻🐝🐝
Thanks again for an awesome lesson. Tomorrow is day 4 of welding class, should've did it 30 years ago, but there was girls, parties, bands and what not👍🏻👍🏻
Hey billy. Love u brother. Awesome pipes and channel
Billy is a master fabricator. Exhaust looks menacing . If you want a sport bike buy a Ducati indeed.
Bernd Siegmund,,
"Fine adjustment for the perfect level"
Ha, more whackoff material
Billy I love watching your stuff man. Big fan ever since the biker build days but I love watching your stuff now when you are just wrenching on old junk thats sctratched up and dinged but you ride it every day. Makes me feel better about my crusty 98 Dyna Super Glide that's my daily ride. 100,000 miles and still rolling. Hard to find anything better in the land down under
I like custom made bikes but I think billy lane was king
Hey Billy what kind of chop saw do you use in your shop ?
Nice work!!
