Today I figured out how to play this on glasses. Literal water glasses. It was very fun. I didn't have nearly as much fun as she is having in this arrangement, though!
You constantly astound me! I forget which way to move one bell when it’s my turn. I miss our classes. Even though it is obvious I will never reach the skill level you have reached, playing music was so good for my heart and soul!
Thank you for your kind words, dear Cathy! Any time you want to ring - just let me know. Soon the weather will be nice - we could sit under the tree at Trinity and ring some.
@@SawLady Such lovely memories!
Beautiful. 💚🎸
Thank you very much!
Brava Natalia !
Thank you dear Aidan!
Kingsfold is already a beautiful tune on its own, but damn I didn't think I'd see someone make it more beautiful just in terms of sheer skill. I didn't even know six-in-hand ringing was a thing lol
Thank you for your kind words, dear Nick! While people experimented with 6-in-hand a bit in the past, it has really come onto its own in the past few years. For me it was on account of laziness: carrying a table and foam for solo ringing was just too bothersome :)
@@SawLady Ah okay, that makes sense. As they say, necessity tends to cause invention. I've only ever seen people ring solo with four-in-hand and swap bells on a table, but this is a pretty cool technique. It must be really convenient for ringing simple hymns. Thanks again for sharing your talents!
❤❤
Very nice. Glad to see you are well.
Thank you for your kind words, dear Steve! I hope you are well, too!

Thank you for your kind words, dear Jan - it means a lot to me coming from a fellow bell soloist like you!

Thank you for your kind words, dear Patricia! I just started working on an Easter piece today, and as beginnings are usually difficult, I draw energy from your kind words to continue practicing - thank you!

@@SawLady Thank you for your kind words. It is cold here (feels like -19 C) but I'm keeping warm indeed. I see NYC is warmer. Thanks for the music.
Natalia, that was beautiful.
Thank you for your kind words, dear Michael! This was the most challenging 6-in-hand piece I've attempted so far. I am encouraged by your words to continue - thank you so much!
That was wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words dear Grace! I am so happy you like my ringing - you give me energy to continue - thank you!
I know this was posted a bit ago but I’m still going to ask anyways, was this done using the interlocked six in hand technique? I would love to play this at a concert
Yes.
I wonder if you could try to do the Ukrainian national anthem or a bandura waltz or something with the saw or with the Bells I know you're busy I'm just wondering
What a wonderful idea! I am Googling the sheet music now. Thank you dear Wendy!
@@SawLady 😍😘🤗
Gorgeous. A really beautiful composition. Loved the mise en scene as well.
Thank you dear Neil! This is an old English tune published in 'English Country Songs' in 1893, but possibly dating as far back as the Middle Ages.
@@SawLady You've piqued my interest now!
My sleuthing points to Miss Lucy Etheldred Broadwood.....

How interesting! I wish I could have met her... and played with her! I want to believe that she would have liked the saw, seeing how it is originally a folk instrument.
