exactly what i was thinking. plus the bishop is pretty important early game. i think its a little more of a fair trade than people are giving it credit for
@captainacabo7968 I can see the wisdom in that. But man for me. My Victories tend to be in end games. So sacrificing a rook. Worries me more. Got to play to your strengths. But I do play the fools opening sometimes just to try and understand it. Never heard it called the banned opening before.

But I think a lot of new players intuitively try to get their rook in the game. Kids at my club try it still
The rook is an endgame piece, that's why trading it off in the opening gives you a huge boost early on.

It's a setting called focus mode I think. Helps to not get psyched out by the name or rating of your opponent.
