Fibo Nacci if alicia had competed nope , because she fell twice and the gap was too big , nastia and shawn we t out of bounds , balance checks were too many , and honestly china were amazing and their difficulty is crazy high , so i believe it wouldnt have gone any other way except if alicia didnt compete and chellsie and sam rocked , maybe the gap would clode up and even get higher than china that day maybe
I agree!!!!! If Alicia only performed on vault, and either Sam or Chellsie on beam (score at least a 15.5) and on floor without a fall it should be a win. I think a lot of pressure was added when Alicia fell. Overall the team had the top combined teams scores on beam and vault. They were 2nd on bars and 3rd on floor.
I know Alicia was consistent on floor leading up to the games but I feel like they should’ve put Bridget up instead for team finals. She had a better routine in Quals.
@@auspicious93 The fact she lands low on her acro skills, doesn’t reach full split, bends her knee and flexes her food on full spin, doesn’t get full credit for sheep jump, and doesn’t achieve split in her backhand springs or layout step outs. A few things.
It was an amazing experience I went to her bqbc today and met her she said beam was gel least favorite so much that she almost quit but she started telling herself that she loved and she grew to love it
Way more than deserved to be on the Olympic team. Shame how countless phenomenal gymnasts couldn't compete in the Olympics because of injuries, such as Peszek and Ohashi, among many others. Nastia Liukin was incredibly lucky and extremely determined; I was really thankful for that.
I still think that downplays Nastias abilities and what she brings do the team. Martha would have always used Nastia on bars and beam. If Sam or a Chellsie were healthy she would have been swapped for floor for team finals.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think that if she didn't injure herself, she should have went up instead of Alicia Sacramone on beam at the Olympics.
@MusicDory17 I haven't heard that about Sam but she injured herself right before the team final at the games. She only got to compete in the qualifications.
@alyssaxking yeah shes amazing on beam. that was the plan for her to do beam but sadly she got injured..alicia didnt even know she would be doing beam.
@KVHolland3 She didn't land with her chest up. She brought her chest up after she landed, but she didn't land with it up. She landed it exactly like Shawn does who also brings her chest up quickly afterwards, but doesn't land with it up either. Sam is great on beam though.
@luvthegymnastgrl123 i read your comment and was very confused...then it clicked that you were talking about NCAA's...i was there too and she did amazing :D i cheered for her all the way :D
@kuddygymnast12 i know!! if she hadn't injured herself then who knows?? maybe she could've competed and won?? i love her and am sad that she is only doing NCAA now...waste of talent...going into the the land of full twisting yurchenkos...lol
she does on face value, but she lacks consistency on balance beam, an apparatus taht requires precision. thats why shes primarily a power gymnast, as they said, for vault and floor! still amazing though! well deserved mark of 16!!
If Chellsie Memmel and Sam Peszek weren't injured at the 2008 olympics, I think team USA could have definitely won the gold.

Those are just our what ifs. Let's give credit for the chinese. They also worked hard for the gold, and it paid off.
@@ytdummy1631 chellsie would have done beam and possibly floor if she wasn't injured

That thunk sound when they do a solid landing on the beam is so satisfying
Sam and Shawn always sounded amazing on beam
She is really under appreciated, her beam skills are equal to
Shawn Johnson's yet she doesn't get the same amount of attention.
Why does Elfi always say that beam isn't one of Sam's strongest events? She's one of the best balance beam workers I've ever seen!
99miyah seriously. Elfi doesn't know anything lol.
you haven’t seen many of them then

Sam, you definitely deserved your spot on the Olympic team. Shame about the injury...
I got to hug her at my gym meet...she is such a sweet person. She said that she absolutely hated beam...yet it became her best event.❤
perfect routine right there but also an under rated gymnast
Beautiful and amazing talent all wrapped up in one young lady!!!❤❤❤
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think that if she didn't injure herself, she should have went up instead of Alicia Sacramone on beam at the Olympics.
i think chellsie has a better beam routine and would have helped the team as well
I love samantha Peszek is a fabulous gymnasts she is exceptional.
She Is Like Lauren Off Make It Or Break It And She Is Like QUEEN OF THE BEAM!
Her standing full is better than shawn's
Excellent routine. Very clean and consistent.
I love her beam routine! its my favorite routine behind Shawns Floor
Tim said that "There's no possible way that you can land with your chest up on a standing full..." Well apparently you can...
that dismount was outstanding :)
That was a solid set.
What a perfect and beautiful routine

So Beautiful
always found her so pretty. i know it was all about shawn and nastia, but i had high hopes for the "pretty" one...lol
her routine rocks especially the full twist
wow, shes so solid. im jealous
amazing routine! She has the skills to be a world champion on bea
She’s the best I’ve ever seen on beam not one balance check
very solid
What was her A score?
@luvthegymnastgrl123 i read your comment and was very confused...then it clicked that you were talking about NCAA's...i was there too and she did amazing :D i cheered for her all the way :D
Well it makes sense to go quickly, there are a lot of skills in that routine. AWESOME though.
@Timic83pronc why wasn't she?
She was 2008 Gabby Douglas.
sporting chic sent me here!
yeah i wish she was there for 2009.
I miss her, she's not doing a comeback, right?
@alyssaxking I said the same thing about Chellsie
@kuddygymnast12 i know!! if she hadn't injured herself then who knows?? maybe she could've competed and won?? i love her and am sad that she is only doing NCAA now...waste of talent...going into the the land of full twisting yurchenkos...lol
Sooo many salto's
@kuddygymnast12 she's injured
16.00 that means she was able to beat shawen Johnson at the Olympics
If she had been healthy in beijing she would have been on beam. Go Sam!
if she got 16 i think Shawn deserved more than that... 16.500 or somnthing.
@MrAerial12345 I'd say China still would have won, but it would have been a lot closer.
3 people don't know how hard is to do gymnastics...
and floor
she is amazing. but to me, the routine seemed a little rushed to get everything in. just my opinion though.
she does on face value, but she lacks consistency on balance beam, an apparatus taht requires precision. thats why shes primarily a power gymnast, as they said, for vault and floor! still amazing though! well deserved mark of 16!!
No it was memmel
Didn’t she not doing ANYTHING at the 2008 Olympics?
She got injured right before qualifications started
i can do that... on a trampoline!!! haha
