The hard truth: you had to spend money one way or another but I want everyone to know they aren't priced out of the market. Keep building and get creative with materials if you need to! Within reason 😉
Great video, but what about walnut? I thought it was a pre-requisite for all youtubers to incorporate walnut into every build. Maybe some fancy walnut accents or drawer faces on your osb setup?
Cool experiment to see how strong these materials are! It’s good to know we have other options. I also think it might be cool to see the same drawer boxes, but pull on them instead of pushing, to see the strength of the butt joints for drawers made of those specific materials...
Good information, AJ. I'll also add that plywoods can vary in thickness across the sheet by as much as a 1/16". So, be very aware of this especially when making drawers. Experience is a painful and pricey teacher.
Thanks Blake. I did buy the press. Honestly I have no other use for it than crushing things, but I feel like there is good potential for a few follow up videos using it.
so you are telling me I didn't need to spend $600 on plywood to build my miter station?

What great informative video! Love the edits, angles and pace. Congrats hitting 1,000 can't wait to watch you go viral
Thank you Sandy!!
Great information! Maybe my shop furniture will be OSB to save some cash
Thanks Chris, happy to help!

Hahah. You could definitely class up some of these materials with veneers or different drawer fronts like walnut and it would fool a lot of people.
Great job!!!!!
Thank you!!
@@AJBuiltThis Your welcome!!!
Good job AJ. I like that test and surprised at the results.
Thank you sir!
Great video, AJ! Love the objective measuring
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's a great idea Hugh! Could definitely make a follow up video doing those tests in a pull configuration.

Absolutely Tom. In fact, out of all four materials in this group the only one that is truly half an inch is the MDF followed closely by the Sande ply.
Nice work AJ, did you buy the press? What do you plan to use it for? Anyways, time to go buy some sheathing!

Useful information, however machine gun editing makes the audio very unpleasant.
Could you explain what you mean by that? Do you mean that the information was coming at you too fast and hard to keep up with?
@@AJBuiltThis That would be correct. The total lack of any pauses is not pleasant to hear.
@@tuesboomer1623 I will definitely keep this in mind for the future. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know.
