The Queen is so beautiful in older age as she was when she was younger, she is always so classy and elegant, I am so proud to be British and to have her as our Queen.
According to recently revealed data, the Queen has used her veto no less than 39 times lately. For example, in 1999 the Queen blocked a bill on military action in Iraq. In this bill, Parliament wanted the Queen to give him full control over the military operation in Iraq. Since the project affected the rights of the monarch, the queen rejected it, referring to the act of "royal consent". Anyone who thinks that they [meetings] are a mere formality or social convention is deeply mistaken. In fact, they are held in a relaxed business atmosphere, and Her Majesty always demonstrates her ability to cover a wide range of issues and her wide experience. - Thatcher, Margaret So for example, in 2021, Elizabeth blocked a bill in Scotland, they wanted to buy land with the help of the law, but Elizabeth simply blocked it with a veto.
"Elizabeth blocked a bill in Scotland, they wanted to buy land with the help of the law, but Elizabeth simply blocked it with a veto." What a bitch. I knew there was a reason I hated her. The sooner an independent Scotland becomes a republic, the better.
She was right every time she used her reserve powers, she hardly ever exercised them in ways that even affect the government. When she has stepped in it was SMART, imagine not notifying your head of state that you are at war. She was 100% correct in denying royal ascent to the 1999 bill. And AS an American, THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. A monarch has to fear much more than losing an election if they fail in their duties.
The fact this was made a month ago and we just saw her walk to that same church and turn around to see if prince Phillip was there and he wasn’t like he always has been had me in tears 😭

Queen Elizabeth is just the most amazing woman. She's my hero. She has given her whole life to her country. She gave up her freedom, her private life, her privacy and literally everything we take for granted. She is also a deeply spiritual Christian woman. She deserves the utmost respect not because she wears a crown but because she gave everything she has for her country and she did it grace.
Seriously though, she’s keeping a number of traditions and religious points of civilization as things change to uphold a standard that’s been deeply messed with.
Queen Elizabeth placed her signature in the Register of Services at St. Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney during her visit in 1954. I was a chorister there in the 60's and I have seen it !

Actually they do eat shellfish but it has to be fished in UK water. As for garlic it is not that the Queen isn't allowed to eat it, it is that she does not like it.
I don’t understand people who hate garlic. I mean, they don’t drink water? They don’t know about the existence of chewing gums? Or toothbrush?!?.... They sound silly. Garlic is a must in the kitchen, along with many other things... Obviously I wouldn’t eat it raw like Romanians.... 😆
@@Letizia2810 Being a public figure who has to meet people everyday, she talk to them and sometimes has to eat with them. She probably doesn't want the risk of having garlic breath or the smell of garlic coming up if she burps. She can control the risk if everyone knows she does not eat garlic. It is kept out of her meals even when she is eating away from home as a guest. Somehow chewing gum is not something I imagine the queen doing at an engagement. There is nothing very appealing to someone chewing while making a speech, or having a conversation. As for brushing her teeth , it might not always be possible when at an engagement. As for hating a food, well pretty much everyone has a food they aren't fond of. It's not such a terrible thing.
God should not save the Queen, she was born into wealth and privilege, she lives luxuriously in palaces and is treated as superior to every other British citizen. God should save people who actually need saving.
One thing I’ve never understood about the whole Scotland thing is why they say that she’s not their queen. As a history major, when queen Elizabeth the 1st died. Mary the queen of Scotland’s son took both the English throne and the Scottish. The Tudor line died out and now they had a Scottish king on the throne. Whom later became Elizabeth the 2nd ancestor. I know this isn’t the exact thing mentioned in the video but it reminded me of when that happened in the Uk

Which is why Diana, Sarah Ferguson and Megan had such difficulties. William did, at least, give Catherine the benefit of several years' practice to adapt (which she appears to have managed) before they got engaged.
The Queen didn't choose it either. When her Uncle abdicated the throne and her Father became king, her whole world and the freedoms that came with it changed. She was more like a Princess Eugenie is today. She was Princess of York.
Your Magisty, your coronation occurred when I was 2 years old. My lifelong observation of you has been with delight. You are most definitely a "standard" to be followed.
Garlic was never off limits to royals, only to the Queen because she didn't like it! Prince Phillip loved garlic and often had his dishes prepared separately to include it.
A cook in the Royal Kitchen said that Prince Philip used to come in to the kitchen and ask for a dish with garlic to be prepared for him and he took it with him.
In addition to duties, Elizabeth II also has certain inalienable rights as a monarch (royal prerogatives). For example, she may reject a candidate for prime minister that she thinks is unsuitable, and so on. These prerogatives are not always a mere formality. For example, the prerogative “the right to consultation, the right to encourage and warn is expressed in the fact that Elizabeth receives a number of documents for study that are collected for her. These papers are brought to the palace daily at seven o'clock in the evening in red boxes, after which the monarch quickly looks through them, highlighting in red what she did not like or is incomprehensible, since these documents are taken away at eight o'clock the next morning. The queen's comments are always listened to. In addition, the Queen receives reports from 15 Commonwealth countries, which she meets and sends back⬇️⬇️
Don't forget she literally has an army. They call the military Her Majesty's armed forces for a reason. The oath they swear is to the Queen and her descendants, no one else and definitely not the government. She is not a figure head but allows us to believe so. She technically could do anything she desired. She also has the right to not allow even the discussion of a law in Parliament which she did use in the 90's to prevent a bill's discussion that would allow Parliament to authorize air strikes without the Queen's approval.

Times change and class changes and queen Elisabeth the 1st did not stick to many rules. Queen now made a lot of rules up for her self to follow from experience like the always pack black formal clothing when traveling as if a family member or close friend dies when she is away she not arrive and pictures taken of her in nice colour clothing in time of mourning a death.
When dealing with many different people, events & countries, it’s better to have established expected behavior to keep things running timely & smoothly for everyone involved or there be important mistakes & wasted time & efforts. Think of schools, hospitals, sports, entertainment, first responders & the military. We all need order & safety at some time😊
She does sign her " Autograph " almost daily. She has to sign Government papers or Memos, and her Ministers definitely know what her political Opinions are. She advices them along with the PM.
It's true that Her Majesty signs documents to acknowledge that she's seen them. However, she does not write her whole name, but only initials documents and the full signature is reserved for Bills (laws) that are given the Royal Assent. The Queen does belong to a generation where handwritten letters was the standard and this was true of Ronald Reagan too. Her Majesty does have a large secretarial staff in a Government office elsewhere and they receive letters addressed to the Queen. All of them receive a response, but the signature is usually signed by one of the Queen's secretaries on her behalf. The Queen treats her position as Monarch very seriously. So much so that when one of her subjects has failed to obtain a satisfactory response from her politicians, they sometimes ask her to intercede on their behalf and she has been known to do this. Even drawing it to the attention of the Prime Minister. Most private correspondence is held in the Royal archives and some of these are stored at Windsor Castle. Which is why the fire on 20 November 1992 was so terrible. It was not only one of her favorite homes, but also contained priceless documents detailing the history of the Royal Family. The Queen is not the only Royal that signs official documents. Prince Charles caused a furore when he scrawled his signature along with various comments on official documents and correspondence. These became known as the Black Spider Memos due to Charles' handwriting and signature appearing to look like a spider was dipped in ink and crawled over the paperwork. The reason this caused concern was due to the political bias shown by the Prince of Wales. It's well known that Charles is pro-ecology and fond of conservation, but he attempted to interfere in political policy. Whilst the Monarch and the heir to the throne can have their own views in private, they are not allowed to do so in public. Charles' interference in political matters was such that it became known publicly (by a leak from a politician) and that reminded everyone of the limitations placed on the Royal Family after the Second English Civil War. The Royal Family is not allowed to engage in politics and whilst the Monarch has considerable (almost feudal) powers, Parliament reigns supreme and if the Royals dispute this, they need only to be reminded what happened to King Charles the First.
There's a reason that those in line of succession to the throne have more than one name. It's to allow the heir to pick a regal name by which they would be known if they become Monarch. For instance, Queen Elizabeth's father was christened 'Albert Frederick Arthur George'. He was known amongst the family as 'Bertie' which is short for Albert. Albert is a German name and the name of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha who was Queen Victoria's husband and consort. A consort is the husband of a Monarch who does not have legal right to be King. It was considered that Albert was too Germanic to be a British King, especially because of World War 1 and tensions with Germany, so Bertie had the option of becoming King Frederick (also considered too German), King Arthur (considered too difficult because of the historical myth) and King George, which he finally settled on because it respected his father King George V. For similar reasons, Prince Charles will have to make his mind up within a few hours of becoming King how he wishes to be known. As with George VI, he may choose to ignore Arthur and Philip as neither have ever been used for a King. There has been a Charles twice. The first was executed by Parliament after a civil war and the second was known for his flamboyance. Which leads many to believe that Charles will style himself as George VII. Not only to honor his mother's father, but also because Kings with the name George have been successful.
NO GARLIC?!? That would break me. Seriously, though, I've always thought it must be an inherited life of duty in a fishbowl with many limits for royals, but it's worse than I thought.

She had coordinated outfits, most she made herself, and a pretty pink lipstick. She's been gone almost 30 years and I miss her every day. When I see the Queen, I always smile, even though I'm American.

Hello how are you doing today
@@inkyheart30 how are you doing today
I agree.
Hello Cheryl, how are you doing ?
🤣🤣🤣

What a waste of a life.
I would argue she didn't "give them up" (freedom, privacy, etc.). She never had them to begin with.
What she given? She has authority over anything, just only about the military! She’s literally just for show

Garlic is a must in the kitchen, along with many other things...
Obviously I wouldn’t eat it raw like Romanians.... 😆
Garlic repels Vampires

I assume If you're born into royalty, these rules wouldn't be difficult🤗yet to marry into a royal family having experience certain freedoms would be difficult. I'm southern and taught to cross my legs when I sit and family dinners mean talking, laughing and sharing conversation with everyone. I respect the discipline this life has, yet I would never chose it
Same with being born into a religion, one doesn’t know any better. I can’t for the life of me fathom why any commoner would want to marry into that family, especially nowadays when you can become a self made rich person and enjoy some of the perks that was only exclusive to Royals centuries back .Love alone , wouldn’t do it for me.. no thanks.

Hello Crystal, how are you doing ?
She also has the right to reject various senior churchmen/women.

Yes it just lights up the atmosphere around her
She was by the book and adhered to incredibly strict rules. It's quite a shame that the other royals don't do the same.
Don’t do the same! Why be bound to stupid ‘rules’ that hinder normal life?
Why does it matter?
@@giggity4670 that’s just paranoia
@@joshuaking8424 not really, when Elizabeth II became queen, her father's passing was while she was away on a state visit in Kenya.
I am captivated by the Royal Family.
When dealing with many different people, events & countries, it’s better to have established expected behavior to keep things running timely & smoothly for everyone involved or there be important mistakes & wasted time & efforts. Think of schools, hospitals, sports, entertainment, first responders & the military. We all need order & safety at some time😊
Truly she is a good example of social distancing
The Queen is such a wonderful lady
Hello Karen, how are you doing ?
Hello, how’re you doing Karen?
King Waste Of Space would be a good one for Charles. Very apt.
Queen Elizabeth is soo cute omg
