If Nemesis has the consciousness of all the Zeniths. 🤔 I wonder if it would also have Tilda's love for Elisabet. I wouldn't be surprised if it was able to recognise Aloy.
I hope so. The whole thing was about capturing haphestus and we lose him in the last scene. Like realism is cool but don’t make it a megaphone for my entire life, not today.
Yeah, it's pretty clear that's the plan. Hephaestus is the perfect dlc villain that allows them to progress the story till nemesis shows up in the third game.
The problem with this is the machines. You need Heph to even have machines attacking humans. But I guess they could substitute Nemesis and claim he "infects" the cauldron network or Gaia when it arrives at the beginning of 3.
Nemesis: In ancient Greek religion, Nemesis, also called Rhamnousia or Rhamnusia (Ancient Greek: Ῥαμνουσία, romanized: Rhamnousía, lit. 'the goddess of Rhamnous'), is the goddess who enacts retribution against those who succumb to hubris, arrogance before the gods. - It very well may have originally called Nemesis, hubris or not :)
Based on the ending with what Sylens was researching, the world’s dilapidated satellite system will likely be used provide early warning for Nemesis in the third game. Additionally, there may be other Zeniths on the Odyssey in orbit.
Didn't Tilda say there was only about 10 of them that made it off of Sirius? I haven't counted but at the end it did look like around 10 so I don't know if there would be any left up on their ship.
Horizon lore keeps delivering chilling scenarios for their villains. Ted Faro is a believable egomaniac, the Zeniths are the height of arrogance, and Nemesis is a terrifying combination of all of them, a neglected AI insane with malevolence. Some of the best, most believable, most human characters ever. So impressed.
Horizon 3 will be the finale of this trilogy ! An *ALL OUT MACHINE WAR* ! GAIA and maybe hephaestus creating an army of machines fighting alongside all the tribes of mankind against NEMESIS swarm. While aloy and sylens race the clock to figure a solution to defeat NEMESIS.
Finished the game a few hours ago. I have a theory that Nemesis isn’t that all powerful as Sylens seemingly feared. Remember, the main reason it overpowered the Zeniths is because it had all the knowledge they had, giving it access to all the weaknesses they had, which is enough to eliminate their home on Sirius without being so god-like. I believe that would be one of the main factors to defeating Nemesis in the sequel.
yeah i agree, gaia and the rest of earth have the advantage of home turf, and nemesis has no knowledge of this post-apocalyptic earth either because all of its knowledge would be from zenith members before they left a dying earth and maybe from what hades may have told it
Great video and I enjoyed your story recap vids on Zero Dawn. Generally a very good game overall, but I wish they did not include Nemisis as part of the ending. Instead leave it in the post credit as a teaser to a looming threat to be explored and figured out in a DLC. Because now we are left asking, If the Zeniths were going to leave Earth anyway and not Terraform it then they could have left them a copy of Gaia and be done with it. Why fight over it?
I think they needed Haephestus merged with GAIA, otherwise they wouldn't be able to build robots to terraform their new planet. The only way to merge cleanly is to use someone with Alpha clearance, so they waited until both Haephestus and a Sobeck clone were in the same place. They had to take Haephestus before GAIA was merged with it otherwise it would create floods of anti-Zenith machines. They could only force Beta to do the merge and not both her and Aloy, since only Beta has the necessary implants where they can access her mind, so they needed roughly 35 hours to achieve this. So it was much easier for them to kill the opposition, to leave them in peace to complete the merge.
the zenith didnt think theyd have to fight anyone, for all they knew the moment they set foot on earth was that everyone around them was just some primitive tribesman or woman, they were under the impression itd be a quick in-and-out pick up of gaia that is - until they met with aloy in the hades proving lab, thats when things started to pick up
I feel like Nemesis is a replacement for the Vast Silver storyline that got leaked last year and that's why the last act and plot feels kind of rushed with the introduction.
Something that I thought mentioning. In the final battle "singularity" specifically right after your fight with eren when zo kills him. Yea, well erens blood looked white, I don't know if that was just a graphic problem or not. Either way I thought it was something worth mentioning
Dunno, lots of graphical stuttering ng and texture concerns for me on PS4* even when sylens shows up on the beach before the final battle, Regalla was a floating head with legs until her armor finally caught up 🤣
It's basically just a Hades v.2 situation in effect by the end, isn't it.My love for Zero Dawn leaves me feeling very let down by Forbidden West's story, just did not enjoy the plot development personally.Sylens reduced to an almost absent sideliner for most of it?!?Shocking...🤦🏼♂️ Beautiful game, but just can't love it like I still do the original.😕 Great coverage as always though,Zoe.👍🏻
Ben Elton's novel Stark also used the premise of "a bunch of rich bastards go off into space to escape the dying Earth". Rather prescient because this was years before anyone had even heard of Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk, let alone their space programs. Spoiler alert: it doesn't end well for them. At the close of the novel Elton says that while they could escape the pollution on Earth, they couldn't escape the pollution in their own souls. Looks like this was even more literally true for the Zeniths as a manifestation of their own darkness turns on them.
Some fans have pointed out that we don't get to see what FZ's founder Peter Tshivhumbe looked like. That's an African name so he would have been of the same ethnicity as Sylens. Maybe Aloy and Beta aren't the only clones?
Doesn't it seem a little odd that Nemesis is so interested in just destroying the Earth? As far as we know, it only wanted to destroy life on Earth to prevent the Zeniths from sheltering there. Now, all the Zeniths are dead, right? Nemesis is an AI, technically, but it's made up of digitized human minds. It obviously has some kind of emotions or why would it want revenge on the Zeniths? What I'm getting at is that solving the nemesis problem may be as simple as reasoning with it. Or just telling it in time that the Zen are dead. Gaia might also be able to speak to and understand Nemesis. Super intelligent AI to Super Intelligent AI. I actually think I prefer that to any kind of battle we could fight with Nemesis. Any kind of fight that the tribes can win, even with Gaias help, will make Nemesis seem very underwhelming. I'm kind of unsure what content is even going to make sense for a third game. Will Hephaestus just never get captured so there will always be machines to fight? That would be lame.
Was kind of bummed not to see Faro as a Zenith. Considering his megalomania I would have thought he'd be first on the Odyessy. I hate they turned him into a monster, which we didn't even get to see.. kind of a waste if you ask me.
But his aim was to escape nemesis entirely, why stay and possibly die when he could instead survive. I personal see it as his usual pragmatism. He'll leave before nemesis arrives and keep an eye on things
Sylens is staying in the base because he basically has nowhere else to go, there are to many tribes that want to kill him like the Banuk and Tenakth and I'm sure the Oseram aren't to thrilled with him either.
I don't think Silens has "developed" any feelings for Aloy or anyone. Pragmatic and leaning to pure logic as his actions have been over and again during both games so far, I think he's more likely to be interested in the digital transcendence, as discussed in this other video: ua-cam.com/video/MpBVCdho0D4/v-deo.html
I'm just gonna put this on in a different tab with no sound playing. I have no way of playing the game for the foreseeable future, so I'll have to watch someone else play through the game before I watch this -_-
If Nemesis has the consciousness of all the Zeniths. 🤔 I wonder if it would also have Tilda's love for Elisabet. I wouldn't be surprised if it was able to recognise Aloy.
I wouldn't be surprised if getting hephestus is a dlc and nemesis is saved for Hotizon 3
I agree. Nemesis will the final big baddie in Horizon 3. Would love a DLC furthering the lore of AIs in the world of Horizon.
The problem with this is the machines. You need Heph to even have machines attacking humans. But I guess they could substitute Nemesis and claim he "infects" the cauldron network or Gaia when it arrives at the beginning of 3.
What? Aloy got hephestus
Just finished the game, this was my first stop. I was in awe!!!

Lots of love for this Zoe, keep the Horizon lore coming!
The stakes keep getting higher for Aloy. Thanks for the video, excellent work as always!
Haven't finished the game, but still gonna watch cause the journey is more important than the destination.
Man the third game is gonna be interesting 😳
I love your lore videos so much! I was eager to finish the story mainly to watch those. Thanks for your hard work Zoe!
Good timing, just finished the game last night!
Finished the game a few hours ago.

that is - until they met with aloy in the hades proving lab, thats when things started to pick up
Also, a potential extra content would be the whole confrontation between Tilda and Gerard. Some serious drama in there for sure
Anyone getting a feeling we could have a dlc where we go to the Quen Land riding a Tidesnapper? I’d love that
Yeah we really need water mounts and underwater combat. Bring on the dlc taking down the hephastestus
My biggest concern with the third game for this trilogy is how I really hope this whole space consciousness isn't a preview of potential shark jumping
I feel like Nemesis is a replacement for the Vast Silver storyline that got leaked last year and that's why the last act and plot feels kind of rushed with the introduction.

I noticed that. I wasn't sure if it was done to not look gory or if it meant cyborg.
Dunno, lots of graphical stuttering ng and texture concerns for me on PS4* even when sylens shows up on the beach before the final battle, Regalla was a floating head with legs until her armor finally caught up 🤣
Finally finished the game, now time to catch up on all the euro gamer and lore content I’ve missed!
I would think that in the end Nemesis won't be the final antagonist in Horizon III.
Zoe, why are you spoiling us on the ending? Jk. I love your videos and how much effort you all put into them.
thank you!!
got hooked on your lore series, gorilla games should hire you as an archivist
I believe there are still zeniths on the ship or Bering earth. It makes no sense having it be unmanned
Question: Why did I cry at Varls grave???
I don't mean why did Aloy cry. But why I cried, like a baby.
he’s a great bro, from the begining of the FHW
Because he's a damn good guy, a cinnamon roll at times
Not even 10 seconds in and I already like you XD
Amazing video

As sylens said "my world stopped revolving around you months ago" where does sylens fit in when he wants nothing to do with aloy
Ben Elton's novel Stark also used the premise of "a bunch of rich bastards go off into space to escape the dying Earth". Rather prescient because this was years before anyone had even heard of Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk, let alone their space programs.

Came back here to rewatch this in preparation for Burning Shores...RIP Sylens. You are greatly missed!
Great video, Zoe! Now for those of us who can't play Horizon Forbidden West, we need a HFW, the story so far 😁
Agree! I love the story but don't own a playstation so I would love that!
Ok here's a theory but seeing how smart silent is I thought maybe he is like the first a.i like an early zenith?
Some fans have pointed out that we don't get to see what FZ's founder Peter Tshivhumbe looked like. That's an African name so he would have been of the same ethnicity as Sylens. Maybe Aloy and Beta aren't the only clones?
@@DEEJAYWAL excellent point
When the group went to Gemini, I thought it was gonna be a haircut/clothing swap kinda thing and Aloy was gonna be the one the Zeniths took.
Not even GAIA could terraform some new braids
@@slevvio But if they both cut their hair, then all they'd have to go on would be clothing
I died at 0:36 🥺🤏

Just finished this game after 85 hours. It was a hell of a ride but man the ending was super disappointing and underwhelming for everything I endured.
What was so disappointing about it . In fact it was the opposite for me.
RIP Lance Riddick. That's why he's no longer with us he has already transcended to a much better place
Was kind of bummed not to see Faro as a Zenith. Considering his megalomania I would have thought he'd be first on the Odyessy. I hate they turned him into a monster, which we didn't even get to see.. kind of a waste if you ask me.
Did the game specify what kind of relationship Tilda & Elisabet had?
Sylens knows that to defeat Nemesis he needs Aloy. Hades told him that because Nemesis is actually the mind of a cloned Ted Faro.
I feel like it's just the pragmatism, I mean Gaia has Apollo now
But what about the 2 remaining functions of gaia that dont show?
One is hephestus and the other is hades
@@tombrothers2641 so 3rd game?
Maybe? Getting back hephestus could be a dlc or just the intro section in 3
The 2 missing functions are HADES (which Aloy deleted since there was no need for it) & HEPHAESTUS (who escaped).
How was the Zenith base built?
I don't think Silens has "developed" any feelings for Aloy or anyone. Pragmatic and leaning to pure logic as his actions have been over and again during both games so far, I think he's more likely to be interested in the digital transcendence, as discussed in this other video: ua-cam.com/video/MpBVCdho0D4/v-deo.html
Why stick with the local tribes? why not contact the Quern? They supposedly have a higher tech base than the tribes.
why would nemesis atack earth if all the zeniths are dead?
The specters feel like an Apple product eventually.
I hope it's not Nanobots, I hate Nanobots. How did Stargate deal with the Nanobots I don't remember.
Didn't the friendly nanobot-lady kill them all?
I'm just gonna put this on in a different tab with no sound playing. I have no way of playing the game for the foreseeable future, so I'll have to watch someone else play through the game before I watch this -_-
Is it said explicitly where in the world the Quen are from? Did they come from Japan? Australia?
Hawaii
Somewhere in Asia probably. Across the Pacific, is about the only certain thing.
The last boss was such a let down. 💤 😴
agree. Zoe
cmon, i like it. twas very unique and challenging to fight. why did u feel it was a let down?
i need wait years before it come on pc
so can i have a idee
Sad that Varl died in the game 🙁
Are… are those the Eternals?
I bet Tilda is alive
I just wanna know what form Nemesis will take
Maybe at some point it'll control a horus
“He, she, or they” 🙄 oh boy 🤦🏽♂️
Thank God varl isn't aloy love interest. That's just cliche
Nah, she has a thing with the Carja king
Noice
Another DLC
Spoiler alert!!! JAJAJA
