Haha :) True Story. You had the same idea at the same time. I'm still pretty impressed with the Sony image quality aspecialy for video. Have you had a look at Max Yuryevs new video yet comparing the A7III to some other mirrorless cameras? I was shocked :)
For still photography, I wish that the A6500 had a shutter speed of up to 1/8,000 second or an ISO 50 capability (or both). When I am shooting with the A6500 in bright conditions, I will often need an ND filter in order to shoot wide open with an f/1.4 or even occasionally with an f/1.8 lens.
as an a6500 let me tell ya .. don't get sucked into the camera hype .. learn your NLE & invest in sharp glass .. get extra batteries ( like 10 should do it ) .. use the custom menu to change the record button to wherever u like (showing us where the record button is , is pointless b/c who uses that ) .. full frame is gr8 (especially for photos ) but won't stop u from making bangers with the a6500
Dude i love my a6500 i use the sony 16-35 gm 2.8 and the image quality is amazing! Yea the a7iii is also very dope and is better but the a6500 is not too far behind
I actually like where the record button is on the a6500 because when I am recording a video of myself, the button is easy to access when the camera is setup on a tripod facing me. Likewise, I also record videos of printmaking in the darkroom, and because it's the only button on the side of the camera, it is very easy to find in the dark without accidentally hitting other buttons. Obviously, like with anything, these things always depend on how you most often use the camera, but for me, it's nice. Anyways, nice video- it was interesting to see how these two cameras stack up.
This is by far one of the best comparison video. To be honest I owned the A7III and now the A6500. For Video the A6500 is on part. I know it does not have the same color science at the A7III but with a little color grading in post it's easy to match footage removing the green tint. Sensor aside when shooting APS-C using ASP-C lens very little difference. There is also no 4K 60P in both. Besides full frame, color science and battery why pay an $1000 more for same video results?
damn i just ordered the a7iii and have the a6500... i feel like i threw $4k+ at Sony for not much more... at the same time I've been looking at getting a second camera for such a long time and I'm sure I'll appreciate the more Pro features of the A7!! :\ good job Sony... nah for real the a6500 is still a beast and will make for a great reliable B cam
FrenchieFries 5 months later.. worth getting the A7III? I have the 6500 and have been looking at the A7III. Shoot video primarily but still love taking photos. I’m torn!

I mean, from what I'm seeing the only major difference between the two is the sensor (bit sharper image, better iso performance in low light and that nice looking bokeh on the full frame). I feel like these two cameras are iterations of the "same type of camera" but one is for aps-c and the other for ff users. To me personally the only major benefit would be having a faster aperture when I need it. Which isn't worth the price difference. Of course if I could afford the a7iii I would definitely buy it but still keep my a6500 as a b-cam or my daily walk camera.
The A7iii colour science is definitely hugely improved.. Take that canon!! 😂 .. Great comparison man, talking about the things people actually care about!
Love the energy!!! I had the 6500 and upgraded to the A7iii. Very happy with my decision. Am definitely staying with the A7iii as my "A" camera and want another 6500 for my "B" and backup cameras!!! Thanks for the vid!!!!
Webster Media what was your main reason for upgrading? Currently looking at snagging the A7III. Have an a6500 and love it, think the a7 will benefit in certain areas for me, just unsure if those benefits are $2k justifiable.
EXCELLENT video my bro. I swear I cannot wait to see you get to 100k followers and beyond - you’ve been such a help to everyone and MORE people need your positive influence!
Specifically for video? A6500 is a huge bang 4 buck. I’d say the larger sensor and dynamic range makes a HUGE difference for photos. The dynamic range of the a63/500 makes them look like a half-step between raw iPhone photos and a dslr, where I’d say full-frame pushes a lot closer to dslr quality. Of course, the more money you out in, the better the result(especially with lenses) and for the long-term I’d get the a73. Currently looking to sell my a6500 and apsc lenses since I’m focusing more on photography, but can’t shell out the extra for the a7riii or a9.
so much energy! love it. I have both. I really like the image quality on the 120fps that was the definite upgrade for me and the battery. 1 battery is sufficient enough for a full day of shoot.
The way I look at it. A6500 is perfect . Cheap if you can get it second hand and use the extra money for some solid lenses. 16 sigma 30 sigma 16 -70 Zeiss. All these lenses are great glass. And it's about the user and How you utilize the power. Plus a6500 is so compact and the power it pacts is serious
u missed one thing. full pixel read out(No pixel binning). a7iii 5k to 4k. but a6500 6k to 4k. I am a editior. So 6500 is better than a7iii in shooting video. sharper footages. and a7iii has warm colour profile as default. check it out. No capturing real nature color. Its a main thing.
I regularly watch your videos. What i suggest for this video is that you should compare 'full frame camera with full frame lens vs aps-c camera with aps-c lens'. for ex. sony a7iii + 24mm f1.4 vs sony a6500 + 16mm f1.4 that would be perfect comparison for the camera results.
So are you telling me other than rolling shutter, image quality looks almost identical? That is what my eyes saw. I know some of the minor upgrades and battery make the extra £500 worth it but then again you double the price of your lenses. I hope the monitor is better on the a7 iii also as seeing anything in sunlight is a pain. Thanks for the comparison. I wanted the a7 iii but bought the a6500 and this reminds me why!
I've an A6500 and sometimes I want to buy an A7 III or an A7 III/IV but the difference of the picture quality is not very noticeable and I think is better to invest in good lenses. Thank you for the video.
from the video I see that the a6500 has a better detail? I have an a6500, I understand that it's not worth changing on an a7iii? what do you think? what do you think after two years of use?
They are both awesome! I shoot with 2 A7iii for weddings and my brother will start helping me out when he gets his a6500. I think it would be a perfect 1-2 punch to be honest. A7iii main camera for events and shoots with the a6500 as a B camera. Also, a6500 is a perfect travel camera, so small yet so versatile.
I think you can't go wrong with it :) Have a look at the new Video from Max Yuryev where he compares the Sony A7III to some other mirrorless cameras if you still aren't sure.
A6500 is a very capable camera, tech-wise. Tho, not loving the rolling shutter + shaky 4k footage, green tint and color shifting in autoiso. 1080p is also soft as compared to canon. I use it as b cam now. Color correcting skin tones has been my main issue with it. Also Sid, ur skin looks a bit greener in this vid.
Man I’m struggling. I have the a6500 and I’m in love with it. Have been contemplating going the A7III route. Shoot photos but a ton of video. I’m a hobbyist that pulls in some extra cash from small projects. Mostly do lots of run n gun stuff. Honestly can’t decide if snagging the A7III is worth it. I do a ton of low light shooting, so I think there’s a benefit there, and I’d like the option of the HLG for video, yet have no true complaints with the CINE’s or SLOG’s. Have a combination of APS-C and Full Frame lenses as well. Outside of some of Sony’s funky color science things, and low light performance (tho it is great on the a6500 still), Im getting great results from the a6500. I’m torn if I’d truly benefit from the A7III. I think it’d make up for those times when I’m pushing the limits of the a6500. Anyone have any thoughts? Financials aren’t an issue, I’d keep the a6500 as a B-cam and a low profile camera for travel. Id snag a few more lenses for the A7III as well.
I would wait a few more weeks until NAB for potential camera announcements! If anything else, upgrading to the A73 and keeping your a6500 as a b-cam would be a great combo!
nice job obviouslt the a7iii is third generation , 6500 is second generation , with different client targhet in mind i would not believe a crop sensor camera in this range could be better than a new full frame one.....
The a6500 is great but the a7iii has advantages. Better highlight roll off, less green tint, more detail in the shadows. Not to mention the depth it provides is just super pleasing to me. The a6500 has a bit more sharpness in the background where the a7iii melts the background away. Looks like the rolling shutter was a bit better on the a7iii at the side to side of the fountain(though still not great lol) If you're a hybrid shooter, the photographer gets A LOT from the a7iii as well. I don't own it but I assume I'll be going full frame soon enough at this point.
The a7III has the new sony colour sience, and as far as I know the a6500 hasn't, but the colours look kinda same on your comparison shot?? Or it would be more visible when shooting nature or portraits (skin tone)? Or the a6500 got a colour update I missed?
I don't have both but I'd prefer the a6500 .... was looking very carefully and yeah I will be picking that camera for video ... you really know you gadgets Sid ... great work on the review!
I'm REALLY trying to decide because I'm considering buying something soon, and this almost had me sold on the 6500, but that rolling shutter! Ugh, so frustrating! I've been through a few cameras - video and other, and I can't see 'upgrading', just to still have to deal with that? I think it's been one of the biggest problems with video [quality] for quite a few years now as far as I'm concerned, and one would had thought someone would've fixed the problem by now, especially when paying $750+ for a camera? You hardly ever hear it being discussed nowadays, which is sad because out of sight = out of mind.

I love my A6500, but I was looking at the A7iii way too long. I don't need it, but I'm still a kid and want the big boy :) I want to use my vintage lenses on a full frame sensor. There is something an APS-C just can't do for a lens made at a time, when 35mm was (mostly) the only way to go. And the color science on top is better. Does it justify the difference ? Probably not.
Idk if you ask me the 6500 really held its own , the 3 is improved In some substantial areas but all in all to the eyes of a consumer how far apart are theses upgrades really . I say invest in the lens for now if you have or are planning to get the 6500.All of the videos on my page are shot with a 6500 30mm 1.4
Whenever I get something, if I do not get the model I looked at and go for the model below, I sometimes get buyers remorse. I originally wanted the A7III 4 months ago, but ended up getting the a6500 instead. I have ever since kept thinking I should have waited (at the time, the A7III was hard to find in stock). And I have contemplated selling my a6500, lenses, and accessories and getting the A7III. But, after watching this video, not only did I save money, I got a camera which is 95% as good for half of the price (not even talking of lens costs, which would make it over double the price). I would love the FF sensor, battery life, and joystick without doubt. I would say the A7III is definitely the superior camera, but the a6500 is a better travel camera. The good thing is, apparently whichever you buy, you are getting a superior camera not held back because you did not buy their $2500+ model. Sony is not like Nikon or Canon, both of which severely limit their lower end models to make you desire their higher end offerings. You can literally get lost in the a6500 menu and there is so many options it is crazy (read: awesome). Awesome video (thank you!), but I can say this is the most fair comparison I have seen because a lot of other comparing the two made the a6500 look inferior often far inferior. I am glad to see I already have an amazing camera. I will definitely get the A7III, or the successor if it is out soon. As an aside, I REALLY like your LUTS and I will be looking into them to grade Slog3.
Thanks for doing that comparison. Very interesting. I've got an a6500 and based on your video and the way I shoot, it wouldn't be worth it to me to just upgrade. Especially when the long awaited a7000 and a7S3 may be coming out in the next several months. If Sony adds 4:2:2 10 bit internal or external recording to either or both of those cameras that would be the clincher for me.
@ Sidney nice comparison, but you didnt mention how fast the AF was on the a6500 over the a7iii in your video. And overall to me it looked like from the whole comparison there wasnt much of a diffrence apart from a6500 having more rolling shutter.
I'm a long time Canon shooter. Recently wanted to try out the Sony series considering the switch. I sold my old backup 5dm2 and bought a6500 knowing that either way I choose, it will still make a great backup/2nd camera. I'm blown away at how powerful this this little camera is. It has won me over and I'm selling my 5dm3 to buy the a7iii. Sorry Canon. You've fallen behind and let me down on not offering features I've wanted for a while now. I hate changing platforms but hey, they're just tools. I learn to be comfortable on the Sony in time.
This is the best video comparison between the 2 cameras that I've seen so far! Nice! I think that overall the A73 is the better camera, but as an happy owner of the a6500 I don't think I'm going to switch soon. Mostly because of the Sigma 16mm 1.4 :-)

a6500. Trust me, you won'regret the improvements, quality and overall performance. Also, is better to spend the $$$ on the IBIS instead of worrying about OSS lenses. The touch screen is irrelevant lol.
For video, hands down a6500, because without the IBIS, you put a non-Sony lens like Sigma 16mm f1.4, which doesn't have in-lens image stabilization, then your handheld footage will be very shaky. For smoothest handheld experience (without a gimbal) pair it with any Sony OSS lens and this will give you the smoothest shots. Also for photography, in night time situations, you may want to shoot in lower shutter speeds, therefore, without any IBIS or optical stabilization, you will have to put the camera on a tripod to accomplish the shot without any blur.
A6500 - worth the extra - don't discount the IBIS and I if I recall, Sony beefed up the camera in general between the two models. I had the a6000 and wasn't interested in the a6300 but was definitely pleased that I waited for a few more months and scooped up the a6500. But right now, I wouldn't buy either until I saw what asp-c camera Sony is about to release in time for the upcoming holiday season. Be a bit more patient!
Great video. Now I want to see how Sonys new APS-C compares to the a7iii when it is released. Because the a6500 was so close to the a7iii the camera I want is the new Sony APS-C but how long do we have to wait.
I currently have the a6500 but will purchase the A7iii soon as my main camera and use the a6500 as a backup. Price point, still think the a6500 is better but the big difference noticeable for me was the slow motion looked way better on the A7iii since it's using the full sensor. Both are incredible cameras though!
Mitchell Beattie did you end up getting the A7III? Worth it? Have the 6500 and love it. Just curious if the few benefits of the A7III are worth the upgrade. Also plan to keep the 6500 but nonetheless.

Selling my canon gear as I type to move to Sony. I really hope Sony will release a new APSC version soon as the A6500 is not too far behind from A7iii given its age. I’m sure the A6700 or A7000 will have much similar performance compared to A7iii, the only difference being the sensor size. This is by far the bests comparison video I have seen for these two cameras!
Can't believe this! The a6500 can go head to head with the A7iii. From your vid, there's hardly any difference in most of the test. Since I'm in a budget, a6500 is the way to go!
you said in crop mode the a7iii is using 10mp for photos... it doesn't do the same with video? man, i'm eyeing both these cameras, and agonizing over the fact that i canget the 6500 with several lenses for the price of the a7iii and ONE lens i'm considering... and, i got a chuckle when you put the flying delorean over the a7iii as if it was awarded a gold star... 'ding! you get the flying delorean'
I want to improve my 6500 low light video quality at 8-15k iso on pixel peeping level without losing its focal length, does a7-3 fulfil my wishes with its crop mode capability and a bsi sensor ? I mean, would it be a tangible upgrade in terms of noise and dynamic range or just a minor one like a7s2 vs a7iii ? Thanks !
Question. Please Answer. I have a $2500 budget. Should I get the A7iii or the A6500. I will be using it for UA-cam videos mostly and short documentaries
a6500 and used the rest for a gimbal, lenses, and tripod and audio gear. If you already have that gear, consider the A7iii. One advantage of the a6500 is the recording time hack which lets you shoot 4K indefinitely. Shutting down at 30 min is not good for documentary interviews.
Firstly thank you for video soooo energy and funny :). I my opinion, a7iii video quality (just video quality file) improve a little bit especially 1080.For 4k, I think a6500 is sharper than a7iii. What do you think about that?
Thanks for watching! Well, the a6500 appears sharper because of the crop factor, so you’re getting a high aperture. The downside is that you lose the bokeh you get from full frame cameras. Make sense?
Hey Sidney are you still using adobe premiere pro? Would love to see how you're exporting these videos to maintian the level of detail and quality that I typically lose when uploading video :/
I thought the A6500 looked better on almost all of the videos. Rolling shutter was the only thing that looked worse. The stills looked slightly sharper on the A7iii but the colour looked better on the A6500. 🤔
Hello Sidney, I use Sony a6500 but I just bought an a7iii, I feel that the body is hot all the time, several degrees more than the a6500, is this normal?
Great video. I shoot 90% photos. I wonder if it would be worth upgrading? Not doing that much portraits either that I would need the extra bokeh. Any advice would be much appreciated. Btw I use the Zeiss 55 for my portraits.
WHICH CAMERA WOULD YOU GET????
Looks like Im keeping my a6500
Seriously!! It’s so good!!
Subjectively the a6500 is better. The a7iii handles lowlight detail FAR better (and all details for that matter). Besides that everything else is slightly better on the a6500, in my opinion. I'm happier I got one now than ever before!
Both....!!!! Slight snag...i need to win the lottery first... 🤣
i have the a6500 and i love it but i wanna get into full frame and also need a b cam, so i think imma get the a7iii
Wow! I can’t believe how many times I either preferred the a6500 or at least felt like the difference was negligible. Nice comparison Sidney!
Thanks homie! Yeah I was particularly surprised with the AF performance!
No kidding, it looked like the 6500 was faster at times in your video.....very interesting.
@Sidney - Yeah no doubt... I always try to convince myself I need to "upgrade" but I'm pretty stoked on how the a6500 held up here. Also, I got a notification that someone commented and said they wanted us to collab...but then they deleted it, so I guess they changed their mind 😔
I agree! For me the 6500 had better color and the autofocus was way faster
We’re collabing either way!
If you cant make great content with a6500 and therefor are thinking of upgrading to a7iii. Don’t, cos its not the camera’s fault 😂
Agree.
Lol very true.
Many people who take poor photos and videos switched to Sony, thinking the output will be better.
Exactly
Amen!
Had the a6500 since launch and have been itching to go full frame for both video and photo - this comparison has just saved me a lot of money! Thanks!
Is it just me or did the A7iii look slightly darker on most footage?
It’s so much darker than it capturing colors and exposure more accurately. It’s hard to tell through UA-cam, but a7III footage is definitely more balanced and more cinematic
@@SidneyDiongzon I'm in love with my a7iii but want an a6500 for talking head.
@@SidneyDiongzon yeah Its true
i agree! the A6500 looks way better than the a7iii
yes in my eyes it looks darker too
As an A6500 user this video let me know I don't have to upgrade yet.
The Fashion Archive same here 👌🏽
Honestly
So tempting though! Im going to resist the urge!

It’s ALL ABOUT the lenses!!!
Investing in the glass is definitely the way to go i was going to buy the a7iii but opted for the Sony 16-35 gm 2.8 and it makes the a6500 perfect!!!
The g lens is the make or break for me. I'm happy with my 6300 tho
The one thing that keeps me on my A6500/A6300 combo is buying into the pricier lenses that go along with full frame.. The only reason i want to move to the A7iii is for screen dimming and battery life.
thanks for the super informative video
Thanks for watching!!
Yo we should've collabed on this!!
Jason Vong you posted yours yesterday and now it's Sidney haha. Great work for both of you. You guys inspire me. 🤙🏻
Seriously! Had no idea you were doing one, LOL. Next time bro....in a helicopter again 😉
Haha :) True Story. You had the same idea at the same time. I'm still pretty impressed with the Sony image quality aspecialy for video. Have you had a look at Max Yuryevs new video yet comparing the A7III to some other mirrorless cameras? I was shocked :)
You guys are like the avenger team of the sony cams
I would dig this, both your personalities would work great together.
For still photography, I wish that the A6500 had a shutter speed of up to 1/8,000 second or an ISO 50 capability (or both). When I am shooting with the A6500 in bright conditions, I will often need an ND filter in order to shoot wide open with an f/1.4 or even occasionally with an f/1.8 lens.
as an a6500 let me tell ya .. don't get sucked into the camera hype .. learn your NLE & invest in sharp glass .. get extra batteries ( like 10 should do it ) .. use the custom menu to change the record button to wherever u like (showing us where the record button is , is pointless b/c who uses that ) .. full frame is gr8 (especially for photos ) but won't stop u from making bangers with the a6500

how is the battery life and heating issue?
@@AbdulAziz-rc4nk yeah i wonder that too

I just bought the a6500 yesterday. Upgraded from the a6000 and I'm in love with this thing so far!
two words rolling shutter
*Rolling shi*ter
🤣
two more words: shut up
You silly rascal you
Mannn that rolling shutter has me frustrated
No difference. We only need lenses for APS-C sensors.
It only slightly looks better in 1080 thats it
I actually like where the record button is on the a6500 because when I am recording a video of myself, the button is easy to access when the camera is setup on a tripod facing me.
Thanks for watching Peter!!
Thanks so much for watching!!
damn i just ordered the a7iii and have the a6500... i feel like i threw $4k+ at Sony for not much more... at the same time I've been looking at getting a second camera for such a long time and I'm sure I'll appreciate the more Pro features of the A7!!
Thanks Chris!!!
Love the energy!!! I had the 6500 and upgraded to the A7iii. Very happy with my decision. Am definitely staying with the A7iii as my "A" camera and want another 6500 for my "B" and backup cameras!!! Thanks for the vid!!!!
Glad this was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much bro!!! Means a lot to me to hear this!!
2020, a7iii+ tamron 28-75 or a6500+ sony 16-55 2.8? if you just do stills?
A7iii looks better, but the A6500 is a beast nonetheless. Thanks for the vid, Sid :)
Currently looking to sell my a6500 and apsc lenses since I’m focusing more on photography, but can’t shell out the extra for the a7riii or a9.
i love how fast the autofocus of the sonyA6500. thank you for the very useful video =)
Biggest difference was rolling shutter, Jelly on the a6500... amazed how it kept up thou on most other test
so much energy! love it. I have both. I really like the image quality on the 120fps that was the definite upgrade for me and the battery. 1 battery is sufficient enough for a full day of shoot.
Thanks for watching Victor!
What i suggest for this video is that you should compare 'full frame camera with full frame lens vs aps-c camera with aps-c lens'. for ex. sony a7iii + 24mm f1.4 vs sony a6500 + 16mm f1.4
that would be perfect comparison for the camera results.
I wish if you zoomed in and scale the footage 200 or 300% in 1080p to check which camera really produces sharper quality
Glad this was helpful!
I've an A6500 and sometimes I want to buy an A7 III or an A7 III/IV but the difference of the picture quality is not very noticeable and I think is better to invest in good lenses.
Thank you for the video.
But the audio not play on your mobile 7:00
from the video I see that the a6500 has a better detail? I have an a6500, I understand that it's not worth changing on an a7iii? what do you think? what do you think after two years of use?
They are both awesome! I shoot with 2 A7iii for weddings and my brother will start helping me out when he gets his a6500. I think it would be a perfect 1-2 punch to be honest. A7iii main camera for events and shoots with the a6500 as a B camera. Also, a6500 is a perfect travel camera, so small yet so versatile.
YESSSS!!! Totally agree with you!!
Hi, Do you think it would be a good idea to buy 6500 as B camera for videos?
Interesting... I’m looking hard at the a73 for my first Sony / full frame / mirror less.
It's definitely a great camera bro!!!
It would be a great investment!
I think you can't go wrong with it :) Have a look at the new Video from Max Yuryev where he compares the Sony A7III to some other mirrorless cameras if you still aren't sure.
You would not regret it.
Thank you Sidney for your informative and insightful reviews. They are appreciated. And thank you even more for keeping this under 10 minutes.
Yep, the a6500 is definitely on the green side. Nonetheless, a great b camera!
Sidney Diongzon thanks for the insight!
Anytime!
nice job obviouslt the a7iii is third generation , 6500 is second generation , with different client targhet in mind i would not believe a crop sensor camera in this range could be better than a new full frame one.....
Yep, 100% agree! Thanks for commenting!
Use sigma 1.4 lenses on a6500 to get similar melted background..
Comparing g master on apsc and ff will create aperture changes..
The a7III has the new sony colour sience, and as far as I know the a6500 hasn't, but the colours look kinda same on your comparison shot?? Or it would be more visible when shooting nature or portraits (skin tone)? Or the a6500 got a colour update I missed?
It is quite similar in most scenarios, but if you look really closely there’s def more green tiny on the a6500
The rolling shutter effect is significantly improved. I was surprised at the difference!
Me too!
Are the labels at 1:36 the wrong way round? Seems the A6500 has more bokeh than the A7iii 😂
Nope, everything is labeled correctly
@@SidneyDiongzon no its not lol
Yeah. Swapped
A6500 has more bokeh effect because its an APS-C dude. 50mm on ff is equivalent to roughly 70+mm on apsc with the same f/stop. Duhhhhhhhh 🙄 basic
I got the a7r2 as the compliment to a6500. The visual video quality is excellent and I like its small form factor.
I don't have both but I'd prefer the a6500 .... was looking very carefully and yeah I will be picking that camera for video ... you really know you gadgets Sid ... great work on the review!
Thanks so much! Glad this was helpful!!
I loved this type of comparasion! Straight to the point🎉
I'm REALLY trying to decide because I'm considering buying something soon, and this almost had me sold on the 6500,
but that rolling shutter! Ugh, so frustrating!
I've been through a few cameras - video and other, and I can't see 'upgrading', just to still have to deal with that?
I think it's been one of the biggest problems with video [quality] for quite a few years now as far as I'm concerned, and one would had thought someone would've fixed the problem by now,
especially when paying $750+ for a camera?
You hardly ever hear it being discussed nowadays, which is sad because out of sight = out of mind.
I love my A6500, but I was looking at the A7iii way too long. I don't need it, but I'm still a kid and want the big boy :) I want to use my vintage lenses on a full frame sensor. There is something an APS-C just can't do for a lens made at a time, when 35mm was (mostly) the only way to go. And the color science on top is better. Does it justify the difference ? Probably not.
Can't wait to watch this. 👀👀
Woooo!!!
Awww, thank you so much dude!!
THE BEST COMPARISON VIDEO hands down ! thank you so much for this !
What do you think so far of the Sigma 56mm f1.4? Could it be a good choice as an Portrait lens for the a6500?
Looks promising! I'm planning to review that soon!!
@ Sidney nice comparison, but you didnt mention how fast the AF was on the a6500 over the a7iii in your video. And overall to me it looked like from the whole comparison there wasnt much of a diffrence apart from a6500 having more rolling shutter.
a6500 is better and you can clearly see it in the video
Serious question: where do you hide your third hand?
In my third pocket
Do you think in 2018 with all incredible options is still worth it the combo a6500 + sigma 18-35 1.8 (mc-11) ?
I mean technology always gets better, but that combo still produces amazing imagery! It’s all preference I think.
thank you sidney! you always dropped entertainment reviews
Thank so much!!!
Why not?
Yeah that lens really makes the a6500 shine!!!
Sigma 16mm F1.4 is amazing!
Yes it is!!
Nice comparison. The background song is so epic. Like it so much!!
Thanks for watching!!
I’m thinking to buy a6500 , do you recommend it to me , I’m interested on neon photography and low light
Go for it!
Insane comparison video bro! Thank you!
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for the video Sydney.
Thanks for watching!!
Muchas gracias, tengo la 6500 y pensaba comprarme la a7III, pero después de esto esperaré.

As like as sidney said Im just not that smart, im just care about result. this is opinion of mine personaly with a different perspective. What do you think..??
Which one would you buy? A6500 or A6300 if IBIS and a touch screen isn’t a big deal and why?
a6500 for sure!!!
Thanks Dennis!
A7iii > A6500, the A6K HD footage is softer then the A7 and the A6K has loads of RS in 4K.
Very impressive the only thing is different between them is the colors in videos and photos is warm/light. But still the same sharpness. Great Review
Great review. Once the Siii comes out, add it in the mix.
Thanks for watching!!
Great comparison review! I am a fan of the A6500... its become my on the go- go to!
Thanks so much for watching Barton!!!
I currently have the a6500 but will purchase the A7iii soon as my main camera and use the a6500 as a backup. Price point, still think the a6500 is better but the big difference noticeable for me was the slow motion looked way better on the A7iii since it's using the full sensor. Both are incredible cameras though!
That’s my combo!
@@SidneyDiongzon What's your fav gimbal for the a7iii...i'm thinking of picking up the weebill or waiting it out for heavier payload on the 3.
For a long while the Crane 2. I’ll have to get a lighter lens for it to be used on the Weebill
Mitchell Beattie did you end up getting the A7III? Worth it? Have the 6500 and love it. Just curious if the few benefits of the A7III are worth the upgrade. Also plan to keep the 6500 but nonetheless.
Mitchell Beattie did you end up getting the A7III? Worth it? Have the 6500 and love it. Just curious if the few benefits of the A7III are worth the upgrade. Also plan to keep the 6500 but nonetheless.
do these cameras take photos aswell?
Hey .. I couldn't figure that much differences between the two cameras, considering the price difference between the two (i own a a7iii).
Am i right?
Yep. Put the RX100 against them and you'd be surprised how close it is, at least in good light.
@ Sony Please update a6500 with full touch capability, type C charging, pop-up EVF, 180 degree flip screen, better ISO & AF
Thanks so much for watching!!
Megapixels has nothing to do with video, that's only for photography. Back to the Future forever!
ok but is it not true that the camera is using a smaller surface area of the sensor if using an apsc lens? (thanks for the reply)
Yep, it’ll go into crop mode if you use an APS-C lens
Well done video! 👍
Thank you so much!! 🙏
How's your a6500's quality so good i have the sony 18-105 its not that sharp please let me know
also please share your export settings ! please please please if you don't i will cry Lmao !

@@SidneyDiongzon thanks homie ! Love your content
Thanks !
Push the contrast on the a6500 up a bit(it also enriches the colors) and add a bit of sharpening and you have the same look!;)
I really appreciate the way your cooperation.
Not to forget lenses are much cheaper in apsc versions and with the sigma line you get fantastic images even when comparing them to ff lenses.
i have the a6500 and just bought the A7 III. im not sure now if i should upgrade!
Or keep both like me!!
I wish i could. The gear is expensive and I have to sell a6500 to pay a7 iii. I could not see much difference lol
Question. Please Answer. I have a $2500 budget. Should I get the A7iii or the A6500. I will be using it for UA-cam videos mostly and short documentaries
A7III. Easy.
@@SidneyDiongzon Thank you!
a6500 and used the rest for a gimbal, lenses, and tripod and audio gear. If you already have that gear, consider the A7iii.
One advantage of the a6500 is the recording time hack which lets you shoot 4K indefinitely. Shutting down at 30 min is not good for documentary interviews.
@@rsmith02 thank you. I'm wondering though, do you think the 6500 will overheat recording indefinitely? Like around an hour?
Firstly thank you for video soooo energy and funny :). I my opinion, a7iii video quality (just video quality file) improve a little bit especially 1080.For 4k, I think a6500 is sharper than a7iii. What do you think about that?
Thanks for watching! Well, the a6500 appears sharper because of the crop factor, so you’re getting a high aperture. The downside is that you lose the bokeh you get from full frame cameras. Make sense?
what is the music title dude? i cant find it in musicbed
Hey Sidney are you still using adobe premiere pro? Would love to see how you're exporting these videos to maintian the level of detail and quality that I typically lose when uploading video :/
Of course! I made a video about that! ua-cam.com/video/L_5JYPhlUng/v-deo.html
@Sidney Diongzon - yes, but that's last year's news! =P Time for more Adobe workflow / editing tips and tricks! ^_^
I thought the A6500 looked better on almost all of the videos. Rolling shutter was the only thing that looked worse.
The stills looked slightly sharper on the A7iii but the colour looked better on the A6500. 🤔
That's interesting. I thought the colors were much better on the a7III. Thanks for your thoughts though!
Hello Sidney, I use Sony a6500 but I just bought an a7iii, I feel that the body is hot all the time, several degrees more than the a6500, is this normal?
Mine doesn’t heat up like that...you should probably get that checked
Thx man! You made up my mind, I´m definitely keeping my a6500 until the a6700 appears from the shadows. Great comparison!
WOOOOO!!! Yeah dude, it's a definite keeper!!
But is worthy pay double price for a7iii? I have a6500 and the diference thats no much...
Well, for all the other features and full-frame, I definitely think so.
Great video. I shoot 90% photos. I wonder if it would be worth upgrading? Not doing that much portraits either that I would need the extra bokeh. Any advice would be much appreciated. Btw I use the Zeiss 55 for my portraits.
If you mainly do portraits, then I would highly recommend upgrading. Shooting in full-frame will change your world!
