To clear out any doubts: Tyson Mcguffin(6.7)/Donald Young (6.4) Ethan Jauschneg (5.7)/Evan Addington (5.3)

Thanks for including their names and DUPRs. There is this channel i sometimes watch called "pickleball pirates" and they often use click bait titles and don't include DUPR scores. They could learn a thing or two from you.

The title says it's 6.5+ vs 5.5+, but the reality is the 6's Tyson and Young are on opposite sides.

@@Bob_DaBuilder-i3x Pickleball Pirates is a trash channel lol they gatekeep pickleball by being rude to people in their comments sections who are sharing their experiences and opinions. A terrible ambassador for the sport.

@@golfmaniac007 To be fair, they tend to get a lot of "these guys don't look better than 3.5" comments on videos of 4.5+ players. They actually do add names to the description but not DUPRs so you have to look it up yourself.

I feel like Tyson plays like 8 hours a day literally any games he can find, cuz I see this dude on more random pickleball videos than any other pro. Lowkey feel like Tyson's the kind of guy to show up to a 3.5 open play to just practice his dinks and drops when he can't find any other games.

Man those new Joola paddles sound just like the Gearbox pro line. Something tells me that it's very similar technology

    • @wolf-xf6hf
      @wolf-xf6hf 11 місяців тому +5

Yea its been confirmed that the new joola paddles have a floating grid like construction very similar to gearbox but the word on the streets is that its not going to be available until june. Six zero is also working on a similar paddle and that was about 70% done at nationals in november of last year so that should be on the market by april and that will probably be a better option given how bad joola’s durability is and how bad the new gearboxes durability has been.

@@ThiccBoi23 Agree. I'm thinking with a "floating" core, thin EVA "spacers" between the chambers will make it past USPA testing for approval.

Donald Young is an exciting new addition to pickleball. But hot damn - 6.4 is one inflated DUPR for him right now. Tyson also feels low at 6.7.
    But - that's DUPR!

How is someone’s rating determined/decided after 5.0? Is it based on whatever the person says it is or a specific organizations rating on how good they’ve done at their tournaments? I do Jiu Jitsu and there is 2 big tournaments that decide someone’s overall ranking based on how they do in those tournaments. Mainly because those organizations have a respected consistent high level competition.

    The most accurate ranking system
Important note! just because you are x.0 doesn't mean that you are x.0 in every match you play, these rankings are my guess of what the players are from the clips that were shown. For more details see last paragraph block on comment.
    1.0 2.0 - just plain bad
    3.0 - good training dummy
4.0 - can hit the ball without biting your tongue - first group
5.0 - short intermediate, or tall mediocre
6.0 - my vision of an actually good pickleball player
things I use to measure rank of players
1.0 2.0 - has no hand eye coordination, probably misses at least 25% of all shots, can only do simple taps, all other shots have 50% chance of failure that scales according to the forced used, "what backhand?"
3.0 - has mild hand eye coordination, misses 15% of all shots with chance of failure scaling to 30% for medium shots and 80% for hard shots (ground strokes), has a 20% chance to miss an overhead, scales to 50% with medium force, and 80% with hard force, third shot drop is horrendous, but is usually politely dinked, dinks between 2-4 feet above the net, serve is not a lob, is either baffled by the thought of spin, or can't stop spinning the ball, decreasing all shot accuracy to -4%, backhand is horrendous, has 50-50 chance of working.
4.0 - has accurate hand eye coordination misses 8% of soft shots with chance of failure scaling to 13% for medium shots and 20% for hard shots, 10% chance to recover from slam shot, 5% chance to miss an overhead, scales to 14% for medium force, and 20% for hard force, 45% chance to miss full force overhead smash, third shot drop is alright, but if the 4.0 knows any better, they will drive most of the time, dinks 1-3 feet above the net, regular shots and serve has some sembalence of spin, if evolved from spinny 3.0, will have 5.0 spin, but failure rate for shots increases by +7% for little spin, 15% for medium spin, and 30% for hard spin, backhand is comparable to 3.0 forehand, and can only preform up to small back spin, medium side spin, or small top spin.
5.0 - coming soon (basically 4.0 but actually consistent and knows court positioning and strategy well)
6.0 - coming soon (godlike, failure rate of 2% in all shots, has never been seen, not even in pro pickleball, probably exists somewhere off the grid)

The rating system is just so inconsistent. These guys would get destroyed by 5.0s that I’ve seen in the area I live. Regional bias is still such a big part of it. After all, you can only get rated against those you play against.
