  • With over 25,000 miles logged on my 2013 BMW F800GS I learned a great deal about it! How it handles with various tire choices and terrain! The great compromise with Dual sport adventuring is you take from one aspect and give to another so ultimately the best answer would be just to get another bike... So that is what I did!

    Damn you’re lucky with roads like that so close to home 👍🏻. I live in the Netherlands and have to go to Germany or Belgium for roads like that 😅. I just bought a f800gs so just learning the whole off road thang 😎

    Nice to see someone not afraid to use the top half of the power band :) After all, that's where the power is!

    What modifications to the motorcycle have you made to make it accelerate so fast?

    • @Smightification
      @Smightification  3 роки тому +2

      I put a fuel tuner on it a lighter and more flowing pipe and that's about it... alot of it just sounds fast not actually sure how much faster it actually is

      @@Smightification what is fuel tuner? Could you give a link to this part? Are you using power commander? If yes then what model?

    Tusk -Dsport- did you go with the 130-90/17 or do you have aftermarket rims?

    • @Smightification
      @Smightification  2 роки тому

      The 130-90-17. It's a bit narrow then the stock 150 but makes no difference.you do feel the hight difference a bit though

    Wow so the bike is pretty stock? Is this bike made in Germany? I think most importantly ABS and traction control can be turned off.

    • @Smightification
      @Smightification  Рік тому +1

      Auto clutch is the only major change. And a pipe but that's just for a little bit of weight reduction. I believe this one was made in Germany the new 850's have the china motor I believe. Yeah you can turn off abs and tc

    Isn't the 790 213kg and the f800gs 214kg some sites list the 2008-2012 f800gs as 207kg

    • @Smightification
      @Smightification  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure it's been a while but this was a 2013 and with all the aftermarket skid plate and guards it adds extra weight but the power delivery on the 790 is better for off-road than the GS from what I've heard I've never actually rode a 790

    • @chrishart8548
      @chrishart8548 2 роки тому

      @@Smightification all the guards and crash protection add weight. I guess the 790 doesn't need gaurds with those fuel pods. The 790 does make 9-10 more horsepower. But probably has less low down power due to the higher state of tune. It's undoubtedly a better bike after all the f800gs was designed in 2008 and the engine was in the f800s in 2005. But the 790 looks very wide from the front to me. I've had my f800gs for 8 years now. So keeping it is the best option really.

    • @Smightification
      @Smightification  2 роки тому

      @@chrishart8548 the power is actually more snappy because of the firing order whereas the f800 GS has to spool up it doesn't make power till about 5 grand but with the 270° firing order of the 790 it gives you the v twin power feel versus the superbike feel
