isn't it quite neat how principles of animations can be transferred anywhere really, whatever program, 2D or 3D, mostly what changes is the stuff you gotta press, draw, pose and whatever. so basically if you know some cool stuff like arcing then you could figure out how to apply it in whatever program you use.
Good to see the tradition of animators making vids of their sonas freaking out to their sub number going an order of magnitude higher still alive and kicking. :^) Ya mobis are good, you deserve this and many more.
bro, could we ever get a playlist of sorts of what sound effects you use? that would be so helpful, im trying to find so many of these that you use but just CANT FIND EM! please i am begging
Thanks a million for this tutorial! I need to make a short walking animation, basically just a characters arms and legs moving and faking the rest in a video editor. This is going to save me A TON of suffering, those tools are a lifesaver! Now the fun part... making da ting 😐👍
Yeah, I only use those values when I have just two key frames, start and stop. Usually best used on cameras. But manually doing the easing opens up so many more opportunities since you can change any aspect of it.
i dont make shit and still watched through, just interesting to watch, you're a great teacher dude. keep up the amazing animations! gave me some good laughs
one question i got about gmod animation is how do you record your animation? by using recording software while you go trough the animation frames or what?
I used to screen record with OBS, but taking a screenshot of every frame and then lining it up in your editing software also works. OBS would probably be best for starters though.
I think you should re-title this video at some point to more clearly label it as a tutorial for those who aren't already previously aware of you. Congrats, though! you da best!!!
You need to make sure the model is no longer selected with faceposer. I usually have another ragdoll that I use to "reset" faceposer to, so I can see the animation playback
There should be a command for it. "smh_playback", basically bind that to a key of your choosing and hold it down to play your animation. For example, I use "P" for playback, so this would be the command, bind "p" smh_playback
Camera work in GMod follows the same principles as regular film-making. I would recommend finding some tutorials on camera angles and the different kinds of shots. The main ones you need to worry about are the rule of thirds and the 180 degree rule. As for actually animating, the camera works just like if you were animating a ragdoll. You can have it move, change FOV, and do all sorts of cool things. It took me a while to get the hang of it though, so I would definitely recommend just playing around with it. (Use advanced cameras by the way, it is another GMod addon) Hope that helps! Perhaps in the future once I am done with college, I make a much more encompassing tutorial.
Gobilns stole it. Nah, its just that unusual effects are a real pain, especially with animation and still frames like I used in my video, so I just decided not to use it. Its still there though, kinda my battle hat.
Gmod will never die
Gmod has aged like a fine wine and will continue to do so

I would never have the patience for this in a million years. Good on ya lad.
Trust me, when you dont have the patience but you still do it. It gives you the biggest satisfaction.
Just do it , im doin it im just bad at editing and ideas but still trying

This is not nearly as bizarre as you think! Over the years I've actually seen this recommended in a couple of gmod tutorials.
That's some shonky business right there!
"Okay mate"
Such a simple and effective tutorial! Congrats on the milestone, and keep up the wonderful work
Amazing so simple
You deserve 100k tbh- probably even 1mil
I think ill start learning how to make my own animations now. Thank you 🤌
your channel is very good 🇧🇷🇧🇷

Thank You This Is Very Helpful Because I Am New To GMOD Animating. Thank You For This Video And Your Amazing Channel!
i like how h w managed easing without using the ease in and ease out values
Yeah, I only use those values when I have just two key frames, start and stop. Usually best used on cameras. But manually doing the easing opens up so many more opportunities since you can change any aspect of it.
Very interesting tutorial.
Loved the tutorial
Absolutely well said my friend!
Well that was short... Helped a lot though!
wow this is very useful I can't even animate in sfm but hey know I can suck at Gmod to
Ima need this because, a good possibility im allowed to use Gmod for a school project. (I might post the finished product on my channel)
Thank you Mr.Alxium. Its really helpfully and interesting! By the way, love ya videous!

hello great video. Maybe you know how to create an animation and make a copy so that I can use the path in that animation any video like dupes.

I used to screen record with OBS, but taking a screenshot of every frame and then lining it up in your editing software also works. OBS would probably be best for starters though.
This is good and all but how do you get to the actual animation tool/whatever the hell it is?
I think you should re-title this video at some point to more clearly label it as a tutorial for those who aren't already previously aware of you. Congrats, though! you da best!!!
I didn't know about key frames
Aight so aight so, i know now how to make animations, but not, how to record the ragdolls
HOW DO YOU GO IN THE KEY FRAME
Where do I get that little bar at the bottom with the animation points
It is the timeline for the addon, "Stop Motion Helper".
how to tweak? i tried doing animation but it look so bad because of lack of frame
but bro witch key do you need to press to open that frame thingy?????????
For me, it is bound to "X". The SMH workshop page should have more information!
No wonder why it takes dafuqboom so long just to make 1 episode
How do animate face moving? Mine doesnt work for some reason
You need to make sure the model is no longer selected with faceposer. I usually have another ragdoll that I use to "reset" faceposer to, so I can see the animation playback
I guess ill stay in sfm
how the heck do you even open up the editor
how do you make an explosion
There is a model called "splode", Basically, I use a tool called "effect resizer" and use that to make it rapidly grow while I am taking screenshots.
Ok thx man
49.99$ holy shit
HOW DO I PLAY THE ANIMATION.
There should be a command for it. "smh_playback", basically bind that to a key of your choosing and hold it down to play your animation.
For example, I use "P" for playback, so this would be the command,
bind "p" smh_playback
how do i open animation menu
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CAMERA WORK??? WHY WON'T ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO MAKE DYNAMIC CAMERA ANGLES AND MOVEMENT

Where can i find a similar dummy lika you?
Just search “dummy ragdoll” on the GMod workshop.
@@Alxium thx
imagine doing a movie using a gun that can move objects
cant i just do it the 2010 way?
What like screen shots, or recording moving the ragdoll
What happens to your hat?
