    thanks for sharing and making this video. It is nice to know that I'm not the only person in the world who has been fired and what you can do after. Despite working 110% at my last job I just wasn't the right "fit" for the role. I felt way out of my element and it was extremely stressful and emotionally exhausting to feel like everyday at work was a struggle and a challenge to figure out how to do something. Having found a new job now, looking back I know I didn't have the right skill set and it amazing how much happier I am today. It's hard to see in the moment how unhappy you are sometimes. Your life does not end when you get fired, sometimes it can actually be better afterwards!

      Hi, I just got fired, and I am looking for this kind of concepts and knowledge which can help me to look positively at this scenario, I gave more than 100 and a couple of extra miles and still, my former employer told me my profile did not match their needs. Thanks for uploading this video, the shown for the new job's interview will be useful to me.

    Thanks for this. Just got fired today from a bad job where it was just too psychologically unhealthy for me to stay at. I let the owner know I was being treated like garbage, and they decided to fire me. And like you mentioned in this video, I felt so relieved when it happened, but at the same time had a bit of fear because that was my highest paying job in my entire life. But anyways I saved up enough to survive for over a year, and now on to working on my business and other better things :)

      I went to HR and told them how I was being treated. I was fired 2 weeks later. They never deal w/the problem. They deal w/the person having the problem. SAD!!

    Being fired is really upsetting, you are always wondering who's or what's wrong with you. Well, this video is so helpful because it shows you side by side reasons why we are being fired, it may be because of us or maybe not. We need not to be upset, just be positive and think of positive reasons why being fired, it may be because of the people around you or the company itself due to uncontrollable reasons. Moral lesson is we have to stand and move on, take the next step and try other things instead of spending miserable time just because of it. Thanks Natalie, this video deserves a thumbs up.

Don't apply with jobs you're not good at. As Natalie said, find your passion. This is inspiring video. We just need to move forward.

    Is very true do not have to focus if we were dismissed or resigned, we must see why we are no longer working there and learn from that experience, and as you say you have to see it as an opportunity to do something better that we like, and you're right We can not be ashamed to be fired, your words are very motivating Thank you!

    Nice job Natalie. It's interesting that you mentioned employers have skeletons. I've been on a job for 2 months and recall on my first day my supervisor calling hr, with me present, asking "tell me he showed up". This statement laid the groundwork and I instantly got an uneasy feeling that has now been confirmed.

    Thank you Natalie I just got fired today first thing in the morning. I feel lost defeated and in many ways a failure.
    I did see that I may not be the best fit for the role when I got into it. It actually became more of a book keeping/ financial type of role rather than what was expected and advertised.
    I'm disappointed and disheartened but your video gave me some clarity.

    I got fired too and it's been a year now and the company haven't been able to find a person that would know as much as me and perform as well as I would.Shame on them its their loss.One thing is for sure,interviewers judge you as if you have a criminal record when you get fired from another job or maybe it's just in my area.All I know is that when I got fired I fell free and I'm working by myself now self employed.I haven't apply anywhere and not planning on doing that either.Put the skills God have you to work and set yourself free from a rude boss.

    This happened to me --verbatim in your second example. I was an Executive/Administrative Assistant. I came in and worked with an Interim Bishop in a church until a new Rector was hired for the church I worked for. After one year, my job was eliminated and the new job required accounting/numbers experience (two years worth) which I did not have. I did not apply for the new job knowing that I would not be selected. The woman who was to replace me left after two days saying the work was too much for her--that was MY work as an EA she had to do that PLUS the accounting and she felt it was not manageable. I was told in early November that I would have to leave by Nov 30, 2017. They gave me a lovely goodbye luncheon and departing gifts and a small severance package with a glowing reference letter to take with me. I am grateful for that. There was no one to replace me and so the search is on again for a person to replace the one who left. I felt like I had jumped off of a cliff. I was respected by the parishioners and I organized things for them on and committees that I felt that I was letting down--BUT I had no control and I left as agreed. It was last Thursday and now I am trying to figure out where I go next. Somehow I am calm now that the tears are gone. I have faith that something great will come my way. I have learned much. This was the first time in my whole career that this happened to me. I am 63.

    I was fired about week and half ago cause of my employer was unfair and I'm guessing there always conflict. I tried and tried to find ways to resolve it and try out solutions but I'm guessing now it was for the best. It's gonna be hard couple of weeks or months to get over cause idk I feel emotional and depresed, but I'm trying to be strong and move on. It will take time maybe there will be a job out there where I get along with everybody there is no conflict.

    Thank you so much for this video - every single aspect your video touched on what applies to my situation which happened last week where they let me go - it hit me not as bad as I thought as I was so calm and relieved. After about a year, I was no longer happy there with the people, the work and the way I felt I was being treated. I was honest about it in an outspoken way and it led to the breakdown of relationships I believe...things went downhill from there. The main thing is that it was for the best, had I stayed, it would've been worst. Anyways, its a fresh start for me and I have definitely learnt alot.

    Indeed a motivational video for everybody who are fired by previous employers. 😊 Natalie is right, we are never in control of the situation, being fired simply means that we are not fit for the role that were in and there are so many opportunities outside that fits our skill. When you are not happy with your work, boss or colleagues it simply means killing yourself everyday when going to the office. This video will be a great help to make us accept the fact and move on. To those like me who would like to achieve success in our career life, take time to watch videos like this from Natalie, this is worth to watch for.

    Hi Natalie. I enjoyed your video. It was insightful. However I do have a question...Maybe you can advise me on a solution. What if you were fired 3 years ago and havent returned to a job since 2015 because you felt stigmatised as someone who had been dismissed. Ive only been dismissed this one time in my whole career. But it has affected me incredibly. I am now 30yo with vast working experience and feel like I will never be employed again.

    The worst news you'll ever hear in your career especially if you love the job. It's heartbreaking. Thankfully, I have no experience getting fired so far. I quit jobs but never getting fired. And, yes, I agree that the result is the same no matter who let go. But the employee takes it harder because it will affect his/her future employment especially if the separation was a bad one. I just hope it'll never happen to me. But, you know? It's what employment is all about I think. This is where we say, "Charge to experience."

    Thank you very much Natalie! I really appreciate your advice. What do you have to suggest for those working in industries where everyone knows each other, and they might find out that you were let go regardless of what you say?

    • @NatalieFisher
      @NatalieFisher  5 років тому

      Being let go just means you were in a bad fit, it doesn't mean you're any less valuable in your field. As long as you are confident in yourself and your abilities, after being let go then you can own your expertise and YOUR thoughts about what happened are the ones that count, not everyone else's thoughts or what we think people may or may not think. So even if people find out, if you don't make it a big deal, and you own what you're capable of offering now that is what's important. People are let go every day, they move on and can do even better than where they were it's how You are choosing to think about it that makes the difference. I hope that helps.

    I’m likely going to be fired from my job. I know I’m not exactly up to par. But I’m trying to do the best I can. I work as a Dental Assistant for a corporate chain, and it sucks. The dentists have talked down to me in front of patients. The other assistant who’s also male is also a douche as well. The front office I like though.
    I’ve actually been let go from jobs I liked and enjoyed for performance issues and I was upset after. Another way to look at it when you’re let go is that you wouldn’t want to work somewhere where you’re not accepted, right?

      Go to your local staffing agency in person or call them and ask them what jobs they are hiring for. Don’t be overly picky. They are looking to hire asap and a lot of these jobs pay $14-$18/hr and are easy like clerical supporting a finance or HR dept or logistics jobs. Time goes by fast and a lot of their clients of big companies. You can even go on their website like Aerotek or Express Professionals and filter by zip code. Apply right away and you can easily get a job within 1-2 weeks since background check is done with 24 hours. Don’t worry about the job itself so much because you can always get in and talk to HR about other better paying opportunities (eg if you used to be an accountant, you can network with HR internally and see if they have some accounting jobs they can hire you on full time). TRUST ME, this is an EXCELLENT strategy!

    • @karynhuang9957
      @karynhuang9957 4 роки тому

      It’s better to just get in the door and have some kind of paycheck (eg work 2nd or 3rd shift so you can have the day open to interview for better paying positions) coming though....you can even work 2 shifts and make double pay in one day....their are maaaany different jobs with different shifts to fit your schedule...if you talk to a recruiter online they will tell you to apply online or drop your resume on their website...and if you walk in, it is nice too, to be able to work with a recruiter in person if you choose. This is really an excellent strategy that will pay off.. While most of these jobs are listed as temp-to-hire, sometimes you have to work maaaaany months before being hired on full time, and that is not guaranteed. But you will be working in a support position making money to pay your most pressing bills. And you could get hired on full time or network your way into a better paying open position at the company in due time and get a 401K/health benefits. Cash flow is KING first though, even if it is $16/hr. File for SNAP and get an EBT card for $192 worth of groceries monthly to help offset food costs; every dollar saved when you are not making that much money counts.
