- I couldn't believe that this classic Tim Conway performance wasn't on UA-cam, so I decided to add it. Tim plays a hapless gunnery soldier who struggles to place a heavy cannonball into the barrel of his cannon. This sketch originally aired on The Carol Burnett Show in the mid-1970's. Credit to all original performers and copyright owners.

I remember watching this with my dad when it originally aired. We laughed until tears were pouring down our faces. Thanks for putting this on UA-cam! If only my dad were still around to see it again.
This originally aired in 1970 on Season 4, Episode 17 of Carol Burnett and Friends. Your comment is from 44 years later, in 2014. To have been old enough to understand and appreciate the humor deeply enough to have tears running down your face, you likely would've had to be 12 years old, minimum, making you 65 or older at the time of your comment. A senior citizen posting that comment on UA-cam seems unlikely, at best.

Harvey constantly yelling, "Fire!" offstage was hilarious.
These two together were priceless. God, I wish TV was like this nowadays. True talent.
These skits are priceless. Already bought the entire package, but still watch them on my computer. God bless Carol Burnett and her crew who brought us (and still do) so much laughter and joy.

P.G. K it can be said Tim has the biggest balls in comedy.
This reminds me of a certain song by rock group AC/DC "I've got Big Balls, you've got Big Balls... But we got the Biggest Balls of them all!" Granted here they're cannonballs but that's another matter.
And this is just one of the many reasons why I consider Tim Conway as the funniest man to ever walk on Earth.

The best comedy duo ever! Sure, you got your Abbott and Costello, your Martin and Lewis, your.. etc. But these guys were comedy perfection, had impecable timing, and were versatile.
It was such a great show.All of them were good.That said,it's a wonder they could get thru any scene with Tim Conway.

Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were brilliant together. This is 100 times funnier than anything on TV today. Now comedy writing mainly consists of crude sexual jokes that have no creativity or originality. How the show 2 Broke Girls is on the air is beyond me. It just goes to show how far entertainment has fallen.

I had not seen this skit before. I cried with laughter. They were the best comedians anywhere. I wish they played reruns of Carol Burnett's show so we could laugh out loud at something on television. I am soooooooooooooo glad for UA-cam as I can watch almost anything I want.

I'm glad someone your age can appreciate true talent, and not what passes for "entertainment" today. To me all forms of entertainment have gone downhill (movies, music, TV). Please continue to enjoy the talent of yesteryear as it is far superior to what's being offered today.

How many times did I feel like Tim my first day on a new job with a supervisor who didn't much care for me! No matter what you do, its never quite good enough.
This is the first I've seen of this sketch and think it ranks with all the other Tim Conway performances as one of the funniest, stupidest (in a funny way) sketches!

That is spot on. All they do nowadays try to push the envelope as far as they can by being as raunchy as they can. Raunchiness doesn't always equal comedy.

Harvey Korman and Buddy Hackett did a bio of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. They were very good in it. The story of Abbott and Costello is very tragic. It was a TV movie. It might be on U Tube somewhere.
Seinfeld wouldn't be a pimple on a good comedians back side! Everyone thinks he's so funny and he and Dane Cook are two that have never ever gotten even a giggle or a snicker out of me! Unlike Tim Conway, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis and some of the other greats of comic have!!! I was rolling on the floor laughing so hard and can say with complete honesty that this is a guffaw from the belly kinda funny and I loved it!!! Thank you for posting this and bringing back some really good memories!!!
