- In today's Adventure, we upgrade the mattress of our iKamper Mini with the Dune 4WD Supreme Double Mattress. I hope that it will improve the comfort and allow up to store most of our bedding inside the closed rooftop tent.
I want to fit the under sheet, two pillows, three sleeping bags and the mattress to not only save us space in the cab of my Raptor but also make it easier for us to get on the road knowing that everything we need to sleep is already packed.
Sam will be the final judge on the comfort of the new mattress but I can only hope this is worth it!

Im thinking about getting the same mattress for my Yowie...
is the mattress comfortable and did it last you ?
It’s still going and great. We have our Father Son camp coming up in about 30 days so we will use it then :)

What about deflating the mattress? All the reviews says it's difficult and a fault in the design. Were you able to deflate it? Was it difficult if so?
No mate, as long as you roll it just like other inflatable it is easy. It is the best mattress we have had as a personal opinion
Have you tried one of those air mattress pumps to inflate/ deflate your mattress? There are battery powered ones and some that are 12v that plug into a 12V power port (cig lighter).
Not yet.l, but I want to. Not really for inflation as knowing my luck I’d force too much air into the foam, but more the deflation. The more air I can easily remove the easier it is for me to fold down the Camper. Save some time too.

No so far, as long as I fold it enough to miss the edge of the folding tent, all 👍 I’m going out soon with Sam to see if being locked away for 8 weeks has effected it. Hopefully no issues 😎
@@AdventurousSoulVlog would be nice to know… I have the Skycamp 2.0 and on the way to upgrade the sleeping comfort as well. But I have on both sides, very sharp thread´s. I will cover them with some stuff like fabric/textil. Enjoy your tent! I will test first time the new mattress in 2 weeks :-)

Which size dune? Isn’t the width of the mattress needing to be 50” and the bottom is more narrow than the top? Does the mattress sit on the inside of the arms?
Give me two seconds. I’ll go take some photos for you. I need to air out the iKamper anyway, it rained on our father son camp
Sorry I had to clean it out and hoped I could send you some photos. The bottom is more narrow but the Dune I used JUST fits in-between the bars. It's a little squishy but it works, and over the weekend it was a game changer for our sleep.
What is the mattress protector you mention? I got the new ikamper inflatable mattress but afraid the dogs nails might pop it
Good question, I’ll ask Jane, she will know, she got it for us
She said it was from Sheridan, breathable and waterproof
Is your tent the 2.0 or 3.0 model?

@@AdventurousSoulVlog the current 3.0 has a more sophisticated cushioning system and was curious if even that one was uncomfortable.
I’ve heard the same, but I don’t know if it is better than the Dune

@@morradventure2813 I just checked out the 3.0 in a store and found this high-tech mattress to be very uncomfortably stiff.. What are you going to replace yours with?
