      Great videos on travelling in Nica. How did you feel in Managua in terms of safety, walking and buses? I am heading there soon and wanted to get your opinions...all the bests.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  Рік тому

      @@ldbsdk Thanks Lennon! We took local buses in Managua, as well as walked through neighbourhoods and felt fine. We would just advise to be careful with your belongings as there are crimes of opportunity, like stealing mobile phones. People also don't like you taking photos/footage in Managua either, so be mindful of that. We recommend spending more time outside of Managua because there are plenty of breathtaking places to visit across the country. Have a great trip!

    • @BucketListTravellers

      Hi Dovy Goodguy, there's a lot of services that provide home delivery as a lot of people don't have cars in Nicaragua. Getting a driver is also very inexpensive or if you don't feel like shopping yourself there are people that will go to the shop for you (for a fee of course). There are also fruit and vegetable vendors that go door to door selling fresh produce that was bought at the markets in Managua. We didn't have a car when we were in Nicaragua and it was very easy to get most things.

If I don't have much time, I'd want to be in Granada. HI guys!
    My son is dating a young lady from Nicaragua. (She is from the capitol city.) They are both college freshmen. He is bringing her home for the first time for Thanksgiving. What are some things I can do, to make her feel welcome? What are some important things to know about their culture. He said she is very shy, and speaks broken English, which she is self conscious about. I just want to make a good impression! Thank you!!!

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  2 роки тому

      Hi Amber, that is so thoughtful of you! One thought is to make some Nicaraguan food to complement thanksgiving. 'Gallo pinto' should go well as a side with anything and you should try 'Tres Leches' (made for special occasions in Nicaragua) as one of your desserts. It is soo delicious and isn't too hard to make! If you are able to learn a bit of spanish (duolingo is great with the basic vocabulary) that will also show that you are putting in an effort. For bonus marks, learn some Nicaraguan slang , e.g. 'tuani' and 'deyacachimba' both mean 'awesome/cool'!

Impossible to find, took me over an hour. Even the police had no idea where it was, nor did over 10 people we asked on the street. They don't answer there phone. I found it because I went to there web site which gave semi clear directions. It is located inside a complex where you have to walk through a phone provider store, and an out door theater to reach it. No signs outside. They only speak Spanish, the menu is on a chalk board at the counter. No waiter service you order the food at the counter and they bring it to you. Small portions, food was salty. Not expense, but most restaurants are 50 to 75 percent less expense then USA . You could of found a better place. You need to be more careful with recommendations as you loose your credibility as a travel blogger.
