I was a huge Angry Birds fan at that time and enjoyed the movie a lot. But when school started, it did not start that good initially. Then I actually remembered this movie and could relate myself to Red and remembered how he was hated by his people but later he became their hero ironically, and well, it highly motivated me. That year I performed excellent at academics and got some prizes from competetions and could shut the mouth of the bullies, and since then I have been great at academics, I learnt Calculus when I was 13. And well, the year 2016 went really great for me when it could have been the other way round, and all thanks to this film. And to be honest it's not a terrible film even today when I watch it. Ngl, my main problem with the sequel was Silver (is that her name? I forgot, lol) I mean, not only was she the definition of a Mary Sue (whom they tried to make “relatable” because people thought she was weird for…being smart? Man, that trope sucks.), but the fact that she was only there for the sake of giving red a love interest was straight up sad. The story would have been so much sweeter if she was just a really big fan of Red! Don’t get me wrong, I love a wholesome, under appreciated nerd as much as the next guy…but Idk, she just wasn’t memorable to me
Prior to Angry Birds 2’s release (the 2015 game which Silver debuted, not the movie,) Rovio had issued a short promotional comic strip which stated that Silver is actually raised by the pigs. She changing to the bird side is never shown, but is evident (of course.) Also, her appearance in the comic was largely different from the movie counterpart, resembling a falcon more. I honestly prefer that appearance personally… oops I digress. I remember being enthusiastic about how are the filmmakers going to portray her in the sequel. And… not gonna lie, I am very, very disappointed. Until this day, I still feel the movie will be much more interesting if the filmmakers were willing to focus on her being the scout of the Pigs with her evolving morality being the pivotal part of the plot (again this is never shown in the original comic but it’s quite plausible) or do something much crazier (make her life with the pigs and her view of the madcap conflict between the Birds and the Pigs to be an integral element, as well as featuring some character arc which she, as the axiom of the good and evil she knew fell apart, evolves into a person (in this case, bird) that she had never imagined before-for better and for worse. Yeah, something like that.) Sorry for the essay. The sequel is supposed to be a celebration of 10-year-anniversary of the series and I don’t believe that they have to toss everything game-related out of window…
I did like the animation for it, but now that I think about it now, the movie itself was just felt like a huge advertisement for more angry birds stuff. Which could be good I guess if done right. But it feels like there was so much done after just because of this one movie
I remember, back in 2015 while playing Angry Birds 2 when it was brand new, my dad went on UA-cam and showed me that an Angry Birds movie coming out next year. I was a huge Angry Birds fan so I was _hyped._ When I finally got to watch it in the cinema, I loved it. And I still do now, it’s one of my favourites. I had a similar level of excitement for the sequel. But unfortunately, I left the theatre disappointed and upset. The Angry Birds Movie 2 is, to this day, one of my most hated films of all time. EDIT: Hey May, did you not realise that, in the first film, the pigs only came to the island to steal the eggs? They were plotting to do that the whole time.
@@Awesomemay Yeah it kinda just came out of nowhere, and I think they try to make the pigs seem like twist villains even though everyone who has heard of Angry Birds knows they’re the bad guys.
Yeah, people sometimes just uneccessarily hate stuff, while it is enjoyable. The point of a film is just to entertain the person who is watching it, and if it does, what is the point of uneccessarily criticizing it.
I remember before the first movie came out, I literally managed to predict how the ENTIRE movie would go, and when I saw it, my prediction was correct IT WAS THAT PREDICTABLE, AND I STILL ENJOYED IT
I really like the first one, the second one was weird for me tho. Like the mighty eagle really left his ex and she had to raise her daughter on her own. The fact that their daughter exists implies that the two were REEEAALLYY close and I definitely did not like that fact. I guess the daughter could be adopted but still. So overall, the first one was great and the second one just needs some getting used to.
Yeah I feel they kinda ruined Mighty Eagle's character, the first movie he's very insecure, funny and yet mysterious legendary hero but the second they made him look like a coward
I don't know, the original plot in the games is just that. The pigs trick the birds into thinking they're nice in order to get closer to their eggs that they then steal. That's the whole reason why the birds are so ANGRY and are "fighting" the pigs in the games in the first place. Having said that, I really enjoyed both movies.
The fact that Bill Hader voiced both Flint Lockwood and Leonard is just crazy. Like I do agree with how Bill Hader’s voice for Leonard is just not recognizable tbh
I really enjoyed both movies. Though I honestly had a little more issues with the second movie than the first, with it starting off, of course with the dab, but mostly this whole prank war between the birds and the pigs. It felt like the pigs just forgot about stealing the eggs, cause at the end of the last film Leonard said he was _hatching_ (haha) a new plan. I didn't expect it to be a prank war, but I guess all the eggs on Bird Island hatched, so the pigs got nothing else to do. I didn't mind Red and Silver getting it on (romantically), what I did find weird was that they gave her a redesign, made her Chuck's sister, and made her very smart, unlike her game counterpart. I did like Zeta as the main villain, it was _cool_ having another bird-baddie after so long, especially if it's an eagle on an icy island with all of that tech and iceball cannons. Mighty Eagle was alright, but it kinda felt like he wasn't treated as a legendary hero on Bird Island anymore and more like just some weird, old, washed-up celebrity in a trailer park. His and Zeta's backstory was cute and sad, but I really wished that they showed how Mighty Eagle even became known as a hero and a mysterious legend in the first place. I loved the first movie because it was much more simple, and I think it followed the game's main premise, green pigs stealing eggs from angry birds. The characters were diverse and wonderful in their own way, and the plot felt simply well-done for me. Overall, really good movies (sorry for the essay).
Hot take(or not idk how these work this is my first time doing one): I personally liked the first movie. If YOU had fun watching a movie, what else matters, right? The second one felt a but forced, though. It felt like a quick cash thing instead of testing the waters(audience). Not that it was a bad movie, per se, just that I personally didn't like it as much. Okay mini rant over have a nice day/night.
Tbh when the first movie came out I hadn't raised my standards yet so I left the theater liking it, but I had raised them when the second one came out and sort of left the theater with a sour taste in my mouth. Like, the more I thought about it the more I thought that the second one would have been better with Angry Birds Stella elements (anyone remember that?). This way we could have a plot about the Golden Eggs in that series instead of making something completely out of left field.
I had really thought the movie was good, the first time watching it. Fast forward a couple years and I decide to rewatch it. After watching it, I finally realized how I disliked this movie, not only because it made the franchise look bad, but because it was a very poorly executed film.
The first one was ok but had a really bad impact for the rest of the franchise. The second one just sucked and basically was the last nail in the coffin for the franchise imo.
I have a BIG CARE for this movie, it was the first movie based on a game I saw, and it was the first movie in theaters I saw, I was already a fan of angry birds, but with this movie I became an even bigger fan (nowadays I make angry birds animations :P)
The fact that this Rovio started out as a simple mobile game about angry birds and bad piggies and eventually got two movies about it is mind blowing to me.
in my humble opinion, the second one is LEAGUES better than the first one. the slapstick is amazing and doesnt feel forced at all. the only real “forced” joke is the baby shark one. overall, 10/10 movie.
I used to watch this, because I see video game movies never had successfuls, but because of the birds having Arms and legs from their bodies, the first one was really okay and it really tells how bird named red was angry about Anything, and fight the pigs, but the second movie never really appeared to me
I liked the first movie and even liked the second movie more. They (for me as well) were fun and got me excited for some reason. Also AwesomeMay, they're making a third movie on this.
Yeah im a angry birds fan so...yep But to be honest, i just really love the movies, or the second, the look is amazing, and the battle scene, expecially the first movie. And i love the Red arc, in the movies. But yeah the pee joke yeah, is sony animation... They are kinda like that. But yeah i was kinda nervous if you going to CRUSH the movies so i can change my mind, but yeah... I was expecting you going kinda critical point. But im glad you at least you review in these movies. An idea i got, could you do a review of any thomas movies? Or the series? Keep up the work my man
About the first movie, in my opinion it was ok, some of the jokes were funny and some of the jokes were too childish for me and it kinda bothers me. But, the animation is beautiful, the characters are likeable (mostly Chuck) and the songs were nice. As for the second movie, it was so better than the first, the animation got really better, the characters with the new characters were cool (Chuck is still the best character). I like the Red and Silver relationship, the jokes were funnier (but some of them were still childish) and as for the plot it was very good. So yeah this franchise is nice to enjoy so I give this franchise at least a 7/10
I loved that movie. I was 3 when Angry Birds (2009) came out and I will always treasure the franchise as the pinnacle of mobile games. It's okay if you didn't like the movie. Edit: and I'm basically Red and Terrence combined
I absolutely loved all the mighty eagle scenes because of how stupidly hilarious they were that I didn't even care about pacing at all. All I can say is, Angry Birds 1 is not a bad movie. But it's not a masterpiece either (To me it is though, because AB was my Childhood). I feel like it's one of those movies you shouldn't take too seriously to appreciate.
I personally kinda liked the first one and the humor, while overstaying its welcome, is pretty good. I kinda like how the story is simple considering this is based on a mobile game. I like the second one even though I barely remember anything that happened. The plot was a lot more complex than the first one. So yeah pretty decent movies, definitely a 6.5/10 imo.
I honestly really enjoy the first movie and just Angry Birds as a whole. It’s played such a major role in my life and even though it’s such a silly concept, Angry Birds has brought a lot of joy to my life. I have fond memories of playing with my pig plushies with my sister and brother and creating epic storylines and battle scenes lmao. Overall the movies aren’t bad, I definitely prefer the first one more, but I do agree that they could have done more. It’s good to have a funny, out of control storyline every once and a while, especially for what angry birds is but it would be great for fans like me if one of the movies ended up like the Lego Batman movie or penguins. ❤️
Okay, here’s my take on these movies. The Angry Birds movie: this film is, okay. It’s a serviceable, and harmless kids film, but it definitely isn’t great. Many of the jokes made in the first one aren’t funny at all and felt forced in, or unnecessary. The story itself is pretty bare bones, and is super forgettable and predictable. But the animation is quite good all things considered, and has some pretty good designs, and the characters themselves aren’t too bad either. But all in all, the first angry birds movie was was at its best, okay. It has some good qualities but also it’s fair share of bad ones. The Angry Birds movie 2: Ah, one of my favorite films to date. This film takes all the good things from the first movie and increases them ten fold. There is so much more to love here, the animation is much better, it’s actually funny, and the story itself surprisingly fits very well with the characters within it. It’s a movie that says, “okay, let’s do an incredibly fast, funny, and overall joy to watch kinda film.” And it does just that. My only gripe with this movie were the hatchlings. The hatchlings, while perfectly fine on their own merits, do hamper the films story quite a bit with them just kinda cutting in and out. But overall, Angry Birds 2 is a bouncy, colorful, and hilarious joyride of a film jam packed with good jokes, engaging characters, and a solid story that will definitely keep you, and the youngsters entertained. Well, that’s my opinion on the Angry birds movie duology, thanks for reading and have a good day/night.
I think the Angry Birds Movie is really good, I think the birds looking like actual birds instead of shapes is perfect. I do like Terrence in the movie because they completely made him look threatening like in the game due to his size, and him being a father is amazing. It’s kinda weird how the sequel has better reviews than the first one, but the sequel is good, not really good, just good.
Something I wish the Angry Birds movie could have done was have the animation in the 2d style they used for the Angry Birds Toons, but other than that, it's still a movie I like. Also, some things we could have are a Bad Piggies and Angry Birds Space movie/TV show
These movies were AWESOME!!!!! Now, yes, I understand they didn't exactly perform well at the box office but that doesn't stop me from loving them tremendously. Angry Birds is my LIFE!!!!! and even though I'm a high school freshman who should play games like GTA or Fortnite, I can't stop myself from playing AB. And fun fact, back when I was in elementary school, specifically first grade, I was my actually my classes top Angry Birds player. And while I'm not a pro Angry Birds player, I still enjoy playing it.
Angry birds movie was a little late, people played that game around 2010, so by the time the movie came out it most people weren’t playing the game anymore.
I think both of the movies were pretty good. They both were pretty funny and had good visual gags. I went to see both movies with my family in the theater. I think the movies are underrated and should get at least as much praise as some other animated movies like The Lego Movie or Penguins of Madagascar.
for the second movie (which i've only seen through clips on youtube) I think they portrayed red's fear of rejection pretty well, and it was a natural progression from him becoming the hero in the first movie, but from what i've seen it looks like they didn't actually do much with it anyways but yes, his arrogance and hypocrisy would definitely be a symptom of a fear of rejection
The biggest issue for me was the overall message of the movie. Ok so Red is a guy who has clearly been through some stuff during his childhood and if everyone was still treating him poorly as an adult, him being so angry all the time would be justifiable. But to be honest he really seems to be the one pushing people away and getting overly upset with stuff people have to deal with every day. Frustration and anger is something we all go through. But the movie tries to make us sympathize with him because he feels lonely and has no friends yet at the same he hates everyone and doesn’t wanna be around anyone. Like bro at that point that’s not a THEM problem it’s a YOU problem. The other birds don’t like him because let’s be real, he’s an asshole. Now don’t get me wrong, I love tragic angry characters who are trying to find a balance their place in the world as much as the next person. But at least with other characters such as Hulk we were able to sympathize with him because everyone saw him as a monster and never gave him a chance which is why he is always so angry. Red is just an anger person all the time even when people are clearly trying to be nice to him. The guy really isn’t that tragic of a person because it’s really his fault he has no friends. And when the pigs arrive he is immediately overly suspicious of them for honestly no reason besides them smashing his house. He is the one who sneaks onto the pigs’ boat already seemingly breaking their trust and the birds rightfully shame him for this as the pigs had so far shown them nothing but kindness. However the worst part is that Red was actually right and the birds praise him for this and make him their leader. So what was the message? To be overly suspicious and untrusting towards people because they’re always up to no good? Like Idk man the only part of the movie that didn’t feel scummy was when Red learns to control his anger for a brief moment at the end and that anger is not always the answer.
It’s a story about how there’s no place in society for young angry men in society until the shit hits the fan and war is coming. Then society really needs them.

Not sure why you didn't include this part, so I'm just gonna say it. In the second movie, I hated the hatchlings scenes. Like maybe they just included them to reach that movie length because they we're running out of ideas (much likely milking out jokes). It's like you're forced to watch a short mini-movie to make you ignore the main plot.
@@Awesomemay well in my opinion, I really felt like that plot would’ve been great for the blues! They only appeared at the end of the first movie, so it felt like a waste that the blues didn’t get their time to shine! (The blues are my favorite characters)

Yeah, something like that.)
Sorry for the essay.
They were plotting to do that the whole time.
haha yeah i understood that but i wish they set that up a little better and maybe a little less rushed with the pigs plot to do that
@@Awesomemay Yeah it kinda just came out of nowhere, and I think they try to make the pigs seem like twist villains even though everyone who has heard of Angry Birds knows they’re the bad guys.
Your wrong! Rewatch angry birds 2 and love it 😤
Yeah, people sometimes just uneccessarily hate stuff, while it is enjoyable. The point of a film is just to entertain the person who is watching it, and if it does, what is the point of uneccessarily criticizing it.
@@e.j5813 you can't just force people to like a movie
It felt like everyone forgot the game existed then out of nowhere they just made a movie
I remember before the first movie came out, I literally managed to predict how the ENTIRE movie would go, and when I saw it, my prediction was correct
IT WAS THAT PREDICTABLE, AND I STILL ENJOYED IT
Bill hader and josh gad.
Comedic masterpiece.
Wait till you found out how you were born
No man the daughter was not the adopted. It was really zeta s daughter
@@airamalihussain7685 yeah I was 90% percent sure it was her daughter

Hot take(or not idk how these work this is my first time doing one):
I personally liked the first movie. If YOU had fun watching a movie, what else matters, right?
The second one felt a but forced, though. It felt like a quick cash thing instead of testing the waters(audience). Not that it was a bad movie, per se, just that I personally didn't like it as much.
Okay mini rant over have a nice day/night.
loved ur mini rant haha and i agree :)

AB2 is a good movie
Believe it or not this is my exact same opinion on both the movies. Well done.

6:32 the first movie deserves way more than 43%
4:59 out of context lol
0:26 The show that is pictured wasn’t made for Netflix. There was a Netflix exclusive show that came out way after the second movie.
I literally had this movie in my head and now you put it even more deeper.. Ty😔
The first one was ok but had a really bad impact for the rest of the franchise. The second one just sucked and basically was the last nail in the coffin for the franchise imo.
Man spitting facts
For some reason I’ve always hated the second one. It was just.. idk man
No. Simply no.
The second one was way better than the first. Both movies were quite good.
The second one wasn't terrible, it just had too much pop culture references, and that ONE BABY SHARK SCENE!

“have you? i mean you look like you could 🤨😕” best line in the entire movie
The chuck line asking ladies to “get busy” is so good
Is it just me or is the first one better than the second
Thanks awesomemay your awesome
You're not alone
in my humble opinion, the second one is LEAGUES better than the first one. the slapstick is amazing and doesnt feel forced at all. the only real “forced” joke is the baby shark one. overall, 10/10 movie.
I still think the movies are a little underrated because of the memes and while it is predictable, the animation is pretty good
I used to watch this, because I see video game movies never had successfuls, but because of the birds having Arms and legs from their bodies, the first one was really okay and it really tells how bird named red was angry about Anything, and fight the pigs, but the second movie never really appeared to me

The 2nd movie didn’t make sense because I don’t remember any game that both the pigs and the birds working together.
Yeah im a angry birds fan so...yep
But to be honest, i just really love the movies, or the second, the look is amazing, and the battle scene, expecially the first movie.
So yeah this franchise is nice to enjoy so I give this franchise at least a 7/10
Um actually the birds attempting to get their eggs back from the pigs that’s a big plot point in the games man:/
WE'RE GETTING A THIRD MOVIE HELL YEAH LET'S GOOOO!!!!!

I honestly liked this movie, but my opinion shouldn’t matter because I’m happy with anything lol
I’m not good at explaining or writing extremely long comments so all I have to say is: I love this movie.

this is true yes
Something I wish the Angry Birds movie could have done was have the animation in the 2d style they used for the Angry Birds Toons, but other than that, it's still a movie I like.
Also, some things we could have are a Bad Piggies and Angry Birds Space movie/TV show

Also Terence is amazing

These movies were AWESOME!!!!! Now, yes, I understand they didn't exactly perform well at the box office but that doesn't stop me from loving them tremendously. Angry Birds is my LIFE!!!!! and even though I'm a high school freshman who should play games like GTA or Fortnite, I can't stop myself from playing AB. And fun fact, back when I was in elementary school, specifically first grade, I was my actually my classes top Angry Birds player. And while I'm not a pro Angry Birds player, I still enjoy playing it.

I think both of the movies were pretty good. They both were pretty funny and had good visual gags. I went to see both movies with my family in the theater. I think the movies are underrated and should get at least as much praise as some other animated movies like The Lego Movie or Penguins of Madagascar.

@@Awesomemay yea
for the second movie (which i've only seen through clips on youtube) I think they portrayed red's fear of rejection pretty well, and it was a natural progression from him becoming the hero in the first movie, but from what i've seen it looks like they didn't actually do much with it anyways
but yes, his arrogance and hypocrisy would definitely be a symptom of a fear of rejection
Rovio made a movie based on a game then made a game based on that movie.
Terrence is the *MEGA CHAD!*

I don't know what's with people hating these movies so much. Yes, the humor sometimes appears to be childish and filler is sometimes too stretched out, but... Like, that's all the major criticisms I can give. I enjoyed red as the protagonist, the side characters are all charming, the movies are surprisingly not forgettable in the slightest, I remember both of their plots since I first watched them...
Not sure why you didn't include this part, so I'm just gonna say it.
In the second movie, I hated the hatchlings scenes. Like maybe they just included them to reach that movie length because they we're running out of ideas (much likely milking out jokes).
It's like you're forced to watch a short mini-movie to make you ignore the main plot.
i actually mentioned that in the video but took it out haha but i agree with this comment
@@Awesomemay well in my opinion, I really felt like that plot would’ve been great for the blues! They only appeared at the end of the first movie, so it felt like a waste that the blues didn’t get their time to shine!

Neither movie is particularly good. But they have moments I like. Edgy jokes in the first one make me laugh, and the speed dating bit in the second was charming. Well animated, weirdly edited.
The second one kinda disappoints me because it was directed by the creator of Flapjack, and should probably be better than it is.
