Bjorn. Are you getting the 60kwh usable model 3 in Norway. The Australian site has changed today with bigger battery and a smaller motor with a longer 0-100km/h sprint
No it doesn't. but Legislation, customer behaviour and technical reasons make SUVs the better choice for car makers. For ICE in a lot of countries the CO2 limit is based on weight -> heavier cars which mean SUV, VAN or trucks. Consumers want bigger cars, but not VANs or Trucks. EVs are heavy and require space at the bottom, so you have to raise the whole car. The additional weight and the raised car requires big wheels. And they usually don't look nice on small cars. I am totaly aware that there are consumers who don't like SUVs and don't want SUVs. I am also aware that there are other car types on offer. But for long distance cars you usually have the choice between an SUV and an SUV with a slightly changed form so it isn't an SUV anymore. But for reputable carmakers: SUVs and a "coupe"ified version of that SUV or an "SUV"ified version of a coupe usualy go together.
@@lichansan1750 I agree that customer behaviour wanting SUVs and that SUVs are more expensive so better for the manufacturers as EVs are currently more expensive so it is easier to sell an SUV EV than a regular shaped EV. But I disagree that there are any technical reasons favouring SUVs or the Leaf and Model3 wouldn't exist. It would be pretty easy to make an MPV from most of the crossover SUVs like the ID4 but manufacturers have calculated that they wouldn't sell in the current market. Hopefully as the costs come down we might get a better choice of electric car shapes.
I'm waiting to buy an electric MPV or Kombi van but will wait til there is more choice. Til then I'd like to buy and drive a Wuling mini EV which could end up as a second car.
The Gasoline version Maxus G50 Premium are the same car but both back seat are for three people so that are a 8 people car. just write it becouse you say the backseat almost fit three people :)
I feel like I have been ripped of buy the maxus car I just bought the car last month but I have been having many problems with the car . 1. First day I got the car had already tyer pressure senser problem and to fix tyer pressure it took 1 and half week . 2. Then I got car back from the service after 1 and half week and I got problem with the charging cable stopped working. Then went back to the car dealer they give me some other cable which is not from the same car. Till today I have no information when I will get my cable back . 3. This car is not for Norwegian winter at all. Now I have anther problem with windshield fluid not working went back to the dealer and I was told that may be it's frozen so you should go to the car wash and ask them to put on some hot water then may be it will work . If it will not work then I have to give them the car back fir the service. 4. Today opne the car front and some plastic got broken just for brand new car these things are not normal. I think this is not normal for brand new car how many times I should go back to the service. Not recommend at all .
Very nice car for what it is. Enormous family carrier at low budget. I think the quality is surprisingly good considering the pricetag. A Peugeot E-Traveller is twice the money, but nowhere twice the car.
@@dzonikg yes, at high speed, no car is safe. Here in Germany they normally drive normal speeds, except on the Autobahn and here it is very important to be safe at speeds up to 100km/h.
Woohoo! The first proper people carrier! And no-one cares about cheap plastics as there will be toddlers messing it up anyway... But what's up with that tiny battery and the limited fast charging? The first people carrier, and it turns out that it's a eunu...^W dud...
In germany the touran is the benchmark. But Sharan/Alhambra/Galaxy is what this thing should be compared to. I prefer the s-max though (sixt has lent me all of the above in prepandemic times - and the s-max is what i prefer). Also, VW stopped making sharan/alhambra, even though they are amazingly popular.
And it is also quite pleasant to drive, considering it’s a MPV. It Italy it’s now only available as a hybrid. They should make an electric MPV similar to Ford S Max instead of a lot of SUVs.
@@bennygade3786 External dimensions of the maxus compared to the galaxy are marginally smaller in width and length, and marginally larger in height: the galaxy is longer and wider, but not as high. I do hope the interior space is better used in a pure ev (is it a ground up ev?), but the gear lever situation is a waste of space, and the all-seats upright bootspace does not seem much better or worse than a galaxy or sharan.
External dimensions is useless. The usable space inside the car is what matters. Tesla Model X is also a large car by the external dimensions but have absolutely no space inside. Maxus is bigger inside than botj S-Max and Galaxy. Aswell as Sharan/Alhambra.
Why did you delete your video interview on NIO???
To be more precise I really love your work Bjørn but that video was really weird with that man saying yes at everything. It can’t be true…
Maybe he uploaded wrong version

Lovely to see an MPV for a change. Does every new car from reputable makes HAVE to be an SUV?

Big Eunuch is a troublesome name translated to English.
But it gives new meaning to the banana box challenge.
DUDE!!!!
No problem with bananas. It's the plums that are the issue.
Is the last seat row removeable?
Would love to see a review of the euniq 6 🤠
is it pronounced Unique?
NO, It's YOU OWNIK like Bjorn said 😁
the door close test.....sounds as Lada from '80
Or like a van. Because that's what it is. A van with seats.
Nice test !

Who makes Maxus? We don't get these cool cars in America.
SAIC
Also make the MG brand. Maxus is the van brand
In Malaysia Maxus only sell in petrol & deasel version is G10 and V80
Hopefully with Malaysian government 0 import tax, 0 sales tax , 0 roadtax it will make Maxus more cheaper in Malaysia
Pronounced the same as eunuch?
Reminds me of Toyota Previa

Hey Björn. It's a chunk of a car and not the kind of ride you're used to. Try to stay positive.
Bjorn, that's a tow hook that you keep asking "what the heck is it?" with every car
Honestly, you really think that he doesn't know that??
Haha imagine still thinking Bjorn is being serious when he says that
no doubt he was serious asking "what the heck is this thing?": he adds " proper asian size... it's so small ! That's wh" I love a serious vlogger

Some ergonomy mistakes
Who needs a built-in satnav. I have a drawer-full at home! Nice useful size. !t all depends on real range, and price.
Well very biggg!
You should try the Ford S-Max. It's a fossil car, but it's the family car benchmark.

The S-Max IS a very nice car. But its not a comparable car to theMaxus. Even the bigger Ford Galaxy is not the same size as Maxus.
