Hey Kelly - another way to paint those beads, use a piece of your string, tin wire (a portion of a wire coat hanger with the ends contoured bent slightly so you can still thread your beads on -the wires end & could hang onto a couple of the lid opening of a couple of pint jars like a slight hook) and could be a permanent self made tool. They would be suspended in the air and you could spread them apart a little so they wouldn't adhere to each other and would dry faster too, and no messy fingers to deal with, no peeling them away from each other, no marring of the paint from a surface resting. Love all your videos, I'm hooked!
Kelly, I rewatched last years Valentine projects and I'm so glad I did. Those moss hearts are simply gorgeous. I remember them and how much I loved them. I bought the moss then forgot what I was doing with it. (I should make notes). This video has such great ideas.
A good way to paint your beads for the garland: put some paint in small tupperware container, add beads, put top on and shake! Add another color to make them mottled, shake! Clean fingers and beads are thoroughly coated! I love crown royal bottles and get them for free at recycling center:) Thanks for sharing your videos; love them!
Thanks, Carrie for sharing that tip! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and I'm glad you loved the Crown Royal project! That's AWESOME you can find those at the Recycling center!
Great diys. I think my favorite is the crown royal bottle. May have to buy one. I hate to pour it out. I’m not a drinker but I might find someone that will drink it. Lol.
I'm with you on that, Simone!!! I don't drink, either....however, that bottle alone makes me want to!!! HEE HEE Yep, we're just going to have to find someone to drink it for us! HEE HEE So glad you liked the DIYs!!! XOXO
Yay! You bought a scroll saw....AWESOME! You're going to love it!!! And, I'm happy to hear you love the hearts!! Thanks, Ella and You have a GREAT day!!! XOXO
I must say I appreciate you sharing the tips you get with the rest of us. You really do have some sharp followers. And who says this is late. These don’t take a huge amount of time to complete so no problem. TFS.
Thank you so much for understanding....when I read your comment....it made me feel better. I usually like to get my videos out at 10 am, so posting this at 7 pm at night was really late for me. Anyway, thank you so much for your comment, Carol and am so glad you love the tips and projects that I post!!! XOXO
I absolutely love watching you and your mom together changing things together and separate. You don’t know how much joy and peace you bring to me daily! Thank you.
The moss hearts are so beautiful. I would hate to even put them up after Valentine's Day. Rustic Elegance??? I think they're wonderful. Cannot believe that's a grocery bag. I used wooden hearts and covered with yarn and they are very pretty but the moss is so different and unexpected. I even have the same pitcher. You always make the neatest prettiest things. I hope you have a wonderful safe weekend. I think ice and snow are covering about half of the nation. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi Charlotte!!! How are you? I hope you're doing good! Yep, they are made just with grocery bags!!! Aren't they nice?!?!? You wouldn't believe that they were made out of that when they are all finished. They are so inexpensive and easy to make!!! OH and you even have the same pitcher?!?! Now, you're going to have to make them for sure!!! HEE HEE Thank you for the sweet compliment on me making the neatest and prettiest things!!! I think that is just so sweet of you to say!!! Well, you have a WONDERFUL weekend, my dear friend! Thanks for always taking the time to comment!!! XOXO
Well that was action packed lol I can’t say it enough your videos are the best you just crack me up I’m always giggling in bed and waking up my husband 😬🤣💃
I just LOVE you, Theresia!! You make me laugh!!! That's funny you were waking your husband up by laughing in bed watching my video!! LOL I'm so glad you get a kick out of my videos!!! That's what it's all about.....just having fun and making stuff! HEE HEE Well, thanks again, Theresia! You know how to make my day, my dear friend! XOXO
Hey countertop twin, great video glad your scroll saw course is up. I’m crafting on my countertop tonight getting ready to open the booth this weekend. Hope you are well. We got 13.3 inches of snow. On Tuesday, I spray painted in the garage. Saw a video where they said to make sure the item was warm and the spray paint was warm. Not in the oven but in warm water in the sink. It was in the mid-40’s on Tuesday, after spraying I left it in garage for one hour then brought the piece and to warm up again. Hope it will work when it is colder too.
Hey, Countertop Twin!!! XOXO Yes...FINALLY, I was able to get the Scroll Saw class launched!! Yay!!! I've been sooo busy lately and haven't even been able to get a lot of sleep because of it, but don't think I've forgotten about you!!! I'm going to be calling you soon!!! Ok? (Fist bump) WOW...and you got 13.3 "...that's a lot!!! We got like 10-11 inches here. That's a great tip on spray painting! When it was in the 40's...I sprayed all those things you saw in the video. Thank God...cause the following day was the BIG storm! LOL Anyway...I will be calling you, my Counter Top Twin!!! I promise!!!
Everyone of your projects were adorable. I think this moss hearts were the cutest n so easy to make. Thanks Kelly for that great idea. Your so clever. Even the yarn ones were precious. I went with on that thrifty shopping spree. Hahaha I think you told me once but can’t remember. What type of paper do I get to make those tags. I just love them but I know you can’t use regular printing paper. If you got a second would you mind telling this old lady again. Thanks friend. OXOX. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
Hi Shelly! How are you? I hope you're doing good, my dear friend!!!! Anyway, the paper I print the tags on is cream colored cardstock. Cream color is the best because with a hang tag you will see the back and if it's cream...it just kind of blends with the front. And, yes....the moss hearts are really easy breezy...just make sure you're using a low temp glue gun, so you don't burn your fingers when you're pressing down the moss. Well, it was nice to see you here in the comments!! I alway smile when I see your name!! And, hey...thanks for going thrifting with me on that thrifting shopping spree! HEE HEE You have a GREAT day, Shelly!! XOXO
That Crown Royal looks awesome; go to the ABC store and buy one, then drink it with your honey for Valentine's Day. lol Oh btw, the governor prohibited the "Carolina Squat" here. They are such fun suckers here in NC.
OH, Joanne....prohibited the "Carolina Squat" NooooOOooo HEE HEE Yes, complete fun suckers!!! Anyway, I might just have to do that with the Crown Royal bottle...I love that bottle that much! I'll tell you...who knew Crown Royal could make such a detailed beautiful bottle?!?!? Their design team is awesome!!! HEE HEE
Hi Heather!!! I'm so glad you love the Valentine projects! Yes, the moss hearts are so inexpensive and super easy to make, as you saw!!! Thanks Again, Heather!!! XOXO
Hi Brigid! Thanks so much and I'm so glad you enjoyed the Valentine's projects!!! You're going to Pennsylvania in two weeks? How exciting!! Yay...and yes...definitely hit the thrift stores there!!! I hope you find some great treasures while you're there!!! Thanks Again and You have a WONDERFUL day, Brigid! XOXO
Hey Kelly.......what do you prefer using on the IOD Moulds? The paper clay or the "Magic Sculp?" Because I see you use both. Do you prefer one over the other? Thank you..........Aileen
I like to use magic sculpt in IOD moulds when I am making pieces for furniture because it's so durable. I also use it for pieces I sell, as well. Now, if it's just for something on a box or a sign...I would probably just use Paperclay. Paper clay is easier to use...you don't have to mix anything. If you need something to be durable, however, use Magic Sculpt. Hope that helps explain it.
Thanks so much, Kristy!!! I appreciate that! You can get the mold on Etsy...there are a lot of sellers on there that have it. It's mould is called: Mould Fleur de Lis Here's on of my favorite sellers on Etsy...she has it: www.etsy.com/listing/915701512/iod-decor-mould-fleur-de-lis-by-iron?click_key=c291f436e8f22e8028ac4b3c4211de2a8e461e03%3A915701512&click_sum=6776393b&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=IOD+moulds&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1&frs=1&cns=1
Hi Nikki! I'm still working on those....I'm sorry! I would have thought I'd have them done by now, but I've just been running so behind lately...even the video was late this week! Yikes! My schedule is clear though next week, so I'm going to work on finishing them up and getting them listed. Ok? Thanks for your patience!! XOXO
No, I used Magic Sculpt....well, I guess you it could be considered an air dry clay because you wouldn't put this in the oven, however, what it is...is a two part epoxy resin. You most certainly could use Paper clay, though. Hope that helps.
I really am! LOL HEE HEE BUT, in the end, though....I manage to rein everything in!!!! LOL You know what it is???? I just don't have the patience to be so prim and precise with each brush stroke! I just want to get into there and just do it. It's the details afterward that really count. As long as, you can make it look great in the end...that's all that matters! HEE HEE
If you add some watered down paint to a zip bag with those beads you'd Definitely make less of a mess😂🤣💯🇺🇸👍❤✝️
Thanks for the tip, Shannon! I appreciate you sharing!!! XOXO
