Single Minute Exchange of Dies

Single minute exchange of die (SMED) is a Lean methodology to reduce changeover times through reducing wastes. The goal is to develop an efficient and consistent way to changeover a process from one product to another product. The term single minute does not mean one minute, rather it means less than 10 minutes or single digit minute.
