- Introducing a 1978 Philips AWB080 washing machine to the channel. I acquired this last summer for free as the gentleman was emigrating - the machine had only survived as it supported a workbench in a lean-to between the house and the garage where it was still plumbed in! It’s a very quick machine, making for interesting viewing with the classic Philips “Spin Drains” - not every drain though sadly. Enjoy.

Thanks for watching one of my videos. Feel free to leave comments below but please remember I don't take video requests - I may not have the requested machine anymore anyway.
the spinning with water was to help distribute the load better
👍
Its mad that machines in those days spun with that much water still in the drum
I remember this machine from back then! A couple of friends had it! Used to love the drain spin at the end! Reminded me of the old Indesits!
Beautiful machine
I do love that machine, was so much fun to use and a bit nostalgic too.
37:43 ; 44:50 Wow! 😮 This sudslocks with the waterspin were really impressive!!
I really enjoyed the drain spins with that washing machine! It's so satisfying 😅
I’m glad you enjoyed. It is a very fascinating machine to watch

Same
The machine sounds great mate, thanks for the video
what an wonderful machine i love it!
Just found this channel. Do you usually include shots of the type plate (type number, in case of Philips 12NC code number, serial number, other technical specs) and possibly some more internal and external views on videos? Haven't checked other videos on your channel yet. I guess this machine would be Made in Italy, and from the sound of it, it might use a PMDC motor which I think was somewhat unique to IRE/Philips.
I try to cover up serial numbers in videos. The machines made here in the UK one of the first models built here, built in 1978 week 42 and yes it does use a permag motor commonly found in these old Philips machines
so during the first rinses, once it reaches high water level, it immediately advances to drain or spin, 😮 that's really interesting! Only the last rinse lasts longer
It’s a very interesting machine. I guess the last rinse lasts longer to make use of fabric softener being able to soak into clothes
Ou peux on trouver encore en france ce genre de machine a laver et combien coute il
Also sadly the only fault with this washing machine was the door catches would break or snap , for about 5 years my grandad had to shove alot of paper in with door to stop it from opening ,lasted 19 years his washing model was just after this one 80s some time
1.ere fois que je vois.ce modele la faire un defoulage
Probably 800 spin 🎉
It is an 800 spin
I'd do anything to buy this from anyone
