The cake coming from your centrifuge has to much moisture in it. It can definitely be better. It looks like you may not be using the correct polymer. Also, the slope of the bowl may not be steep enough or the differential of the scroll is too high.

Hi Robert. Thanks for the note and tips! We always perform lab jar testing to confirm the best polymer prior to starting in the field but as you know, things can change at scale. The Flottweg technicians handled the centrifuge setup so we can't speak to that. Of course, every application will have a different output.
We ran more tests this past summer at other sides and achieved 78% solids by weight cake from the centrifuge. Though the cake may not be as dry as that from a filter press, the centrifuge is continuous and doesn't have the cost of replacing filters. It sounds like you're familiar with this. Do you work with centrifuges in the aggregate industry?

Yes, I have 11 years of experience involving the dewatering of various types of sludge through mechanical and chemical processes that range from the food industry to the oil and gas industry.

I also work for a company that rents centrifuges and provides expertise for these types of processes.

@@robertmcintire8914 I was thinking the same thing. That's not alot of output either. I work all over the U.S. and I don't know of an operation that would find that amount of cake impressive.
