    Kenyans have invested in their country. You find parks even in other cities in Kenya. I hope that one day Uganda will catch up.

    The former governor Oparanya did a great job in ensuring that all villages have electricity and water..he will be forever remembered for developing Kakamega

      @@ugconnect Five years in every term, and if your people like your performance, they vote you in again for another term of five years! Oparanya did well in his ten years. He left the office in 2022

    I'm a Kenyan and I have never been there. I'm impressed with the work the county government has done with the roads. It seems like even alleyways are tarmacked and even have cabro blocks.

    Masinde Muliro is a celebrated political figure who fought for multi-partism in early 90s with the likes of Martin Shikuku, Lawrence Sifuna also from the region. That's why there are many places named after him.

    Did you know, Milton Obote seeked refuge in Kakamega state house after bein ousted in Uganda? He crossed the border at Busia in the nick of time in the boot of a car jst before Amins forces reached there. Moi hosted him there all in the low key low key. Given all the privileges of a head of state in tow. Now you know.

    One unique thing about Kakamega is that it rains everyday - for just about 20 minutes. This is relief rainfall because of Lake Victoria. Also about the language - it is same language cluster ("BA" cluster) - from Western the way to Rwanda. We tlak of Baluhya, Baganda, Banyore, Banyarwanda, etc

    Next time, you choose to vlog in Kakamega please consider other streets, many people concentrate on kisumu kakamega, but the road to mumias from Kakamega equally has a lot to offer in my own view the best hotels in Kakamega town which are modernised found on this route many other supermarket, e.g other khetia, maisha matt, quick matt another mama watoto super market etc

      Yes.But Kakamega is a tropical rain forest (only one in Kenya).

    Kakamega, and most Kenya towns are less vibrant when it comes to night life. By the way those pineapples and most fruits come from UG

    Western kenya is mostly inhabited by the luhyan tribe which is made up of several subtribes. Tha bamasaba and Gisu are just a continuation of luhyans in uganda. As a luhyan I tend to understand some luganda words.

    Road distance between Nairobi and Kakamega is 383 Km. It is not 320 km as you keep on saying

      No way, he has not shown all of KK, it four times the size of Bungoma, it had one of the biggest UN in Kenya,biggest stadium, very large Mulimani where the rich reside, bigger airport,larger park, many hotels and resort. Kakame is also joining Mukumu and kahyega to the south.

    Kakamega is not small as you describe it infact it's bigger than Gulu and Mbale town in Uganda

    A town that has grown as a result of gold mining, below the town are huge tunnels that were dug by colonizers .. this explains why the town doesn't have tall storey buildings beyond 10 floors.
