Everything is on the cheap in this country, Yet the cheap costs a fortune! 🤣

Appreciate the impartiality of this John. The man comes in to work a lot and really is a good person off camera. I don’t usually agree with his politics but it’s refreshing to an explanation that’s more balanced

Really enjoyed the coverage of the far north. It highlights that there are people who are going through much more than we imagine in Aotearoa. Locals know what's best for locals. Kia kaha ♥

Thanks John great viewing my statement is if the health sector Education sector police and frontline services don't get what they are hoping for in this year's budget we will lose the people we need overseas I hate to say it but this country is in big trouble financially don't get me wrong nz is a great place I just worry about the country being financially stable how do you see New Zealand in the next 10 - 20 years time? Kind regards Martin 😊thanks John

I grew up in Northland township so small and poor, that Kaitaia was the big city that we would drive to for a treat. I moved to N. America a couple of years after graduating high school, and in the years since, have met a few fellow Kiwis. They all came from places like Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, and their experiences of growing up and living in in NZ have been so different from my own, that it's like we come from different countries. Thank you for choosing to base this segment in Northland.

Why can’t the local councils submit a treasury bid to fix their water infrastructure?

Interest rates transfer money to the owners of debt and resources. Debt based economy.

The current Mayor of Auckland has highlighted that Auckland's needs are different .

Cheap to borrow money. During covid 19 there was a property boom as people borrowed with cheap loans .

Water fix up. Auckland water activity has been given permission to borrow more ( special law to be passed) . These have no government guarantees and Auckland City council can fund it. Aldo borrowing increases the cost the activity. As each project has the actual project cost plus the interest cost. These additional cost through interest are passed on (inflation). New government thinking!
