I can totally relate, I had an A*AA offer for Cambridge but I just missed the grades - I got A*AB, with the B in the subject I thought I was best at. Oh well, life goes on but it’s still painful whenever I see anything Cambridge-related on social media😂

Leomaster60MC Yeah I did acknowledge that in the video. I was just feeling so many emotions and was still gutted about the rejection so it didn’t feel good enough but now I’m super happy as I know straight A’s is amazing. If I hadn’t had an A*AA offer I would have been ecstatic!
Emily Hilson it’s very understandable why you’re upset with your grades you didn’t get your first choice is just the fact that it’s straight A’s and I’m watching all these student UA-cam’s running around with As and A*s lmao
I think that just happens to be the community who make study videos on the internet, I’ve definitely seen a few of these videos without like A’s or A*’s however the UA-camrs that actually class themselves as study channels just tend to be high achievers because that’s their nature.

You will love Leeds! Just finished first year and although it’s a big uni/city it feels small in lots of ways- everything’s so close and you’ll see the same faces around uni 🎉 congrats on your amazing results

I’m about to go into my third year at university. It was my insurance choice, but I have had the absolute best two years and I genuinely couldn’t be happier. It will all work out! I hope you enjoy university which I’m sure you will☺️ xxx

I missed my firm for Manchester for music - but Igot into my insurance at Huddersfield. I’m utterly gutted but I’ve been put on this path for a reason !

I rejected LSE (chose to avoid Oxbridge like the plague) because I realised the most important thing about university life is actually the atmosphere and having fun in this short time period of your life you get to really enjoy it. If I didn't do maths at UEA (which was the best 3 years), I would have gone to Leeds I think... Heard it was a lot of fun. Also it's much better for your future career prospects to mess up your A-Levels (to an extent so you can still go to a top 20/30 uni) but smash your degree. So many people get A*'s and A's but end up with 2.1's and not firsts. University is a cut above and a few years into your career, your CV will lose A-Levels and GCSE's but your degree will always be there. And even more important than education is that you have a good work-life balance and earn great money (if possible, makes life so much easier) in a career which you enjoy. We've binned applicants with A*'s and even top marks from top unis (including Oxbridge) because they didn't develop the all-round abilities you would hope for as an employer.
Your Guy I’ve done a similar thing, got three A’s, but chose to avoid all the top Uni’s, for various reasons such as reputation, and the life there itself and went for a Uni i felt was better based on my own opinions. Good to hear that the degree is the most important bit!

i agree with not getting a remark because it’s maths, not really a wordy subject so marks aren’t subjective :( the mark probably wouldn’t change much xx

If I were you...I'd get a remark, you don't want to regret anything 3 years down the line

i’m in a similar position- missed my grades for durham by 2 ums and am waiting on a remark 😂 i’ll still be happy with my insurance but i know exactly how you felt on results day because i felt the exact same! best wishes for next year xx

Hi Emily! Well done on these results. They’re very impressive so you should be proud of yourself. I’m out the other side of the higher education system and am near to finishing my MA at KCL. Not to worry people who are going to Durham, BUT I know an awful lot of people who had really, really bad experiences there (including releasing the wrong final results..!) so I’d say your better off at Leeds, which is a great institution.

I missed my firm choice too and I was gutted, I cried as well because I really wanted to go there (I got 3 D's and a C in my EPQ and needed ABB) but I got into my insurance choice through UCAS points and I love it at my insurance uni 😊
Just completed my first year at university with A+, B-, C+ and a D
I got a biology remark a few years ago that went up 3 or 4 marks so like 8 UMS roughly which raised my grade to an A and got me my med school offer, it might be worth remarking as A level marking is notoriously bad, and you can get an emergency one that only takes a week or so to happen! 4 UMS is only two raw marks right?
Omg this happened to me!!! I got a lowered offer at Durham to do English , needed AAB ( the A in English) and I opened track and saw I'd been rejected , went and got my results and got AAC , so the C Is getting remarked but when I emailed Durham they told me I have no guarantee of my place staying open . I was absolutely devastated. I'd got my A in English as well . It's so disheartening, but it will all work out , good luck with everything xx💖

Those who say that she is weird to be disappointed over A's. Everyone has different expectations and hers may be just higher than yours.
Honestly think this’ll be a blessing in disguise! I have friends at Durham and Leeds and the ones in Leeds are much happier. Durham is a great uni academically but that’s about it for most people
Even if you aren’t a party animal, the general life style at Durham is so dull (unless you’re happy to fully invest 3+ years in only caring about academics, in which case more power to you)

I’m not disappointed, I’m really happy with my grades. I stated that in the video. I only seemed disappointed because I’d been rejected from university and that put me down.

I’ve just graduated from Leeds this year having gone there as my insurance and honey trust me, it’s a really good place. I did Law so it might not be 100% the same but there’s a reason why student satisfaction is so high. My lecturers were amazing and experts in their areas. I’m really going to miss it. Hun you did amazing so chin up and feel proud. This is probably a better fit for you xxxx

Thank you! I actually don’t know what career path I want to take, I’m hoping I’ll learn that at uni once I know which modules I like best, since I’ll go much more in depth during my degree than I did at A Level. If there’s an option to do a year in industry during my degree I may also do that (most likely programming, hopefully application development or something) to give me a taster of a field of work :)

Well done I know you wanted Durham but I herd they are really anal on marking for example one word under or over the word count for an assignment means you are waffling or have t written enough and that mean you fail in the long run you are better off at Leeds
Everything happens for a reason. I got 2 Ds at A Level, if I had worked harder I could have done so much better. I went to Uni, worked my arse off and got a First Class so I redeemed myself. Never give up guys, whatever level you’re at.

4 ums is only a few marks, it’s worth doing otherwise you’ll never know
After filming this I realised I have to gain 3/4 UMS in 2 different papers to get the above grade so less easy than I first anticipated. And honestly I just don’t believe I did well enough to get the A*. Plus I’m now happy with Leeds so I’ll just save myself the money!

It is completely okay to feel a little bad even when you've done really well because sometimes we tend to aim high and don't get exactly what we want. But you should be really proud of yourself 😘❤️

I got a d also in FP4, our whole class resit it as we got C's last year, we were all so much more confident, and then AQA created a horror of a paper
It was such a gross module wasn’t it! Well actually I enjoyed the content just struggled with the exams. It didn’t help there were only a few hundred across the country that actually sat the module and they were all the best of the best. Hope the D didn’t affect you too much over all :(
Emily Hilson the paper this year was just not made for the time limit and they were asking too much for the number of marks available! Luckily I had the c from last year so the d was discounted and I scraped an A* by 0.333 UMS overall which was a huge shock! Well on 3 A's overall, you did so well!
Emily Hilson also how are the FP4 grade boundaries like the highest out of all maths units considering its the hardest and like no one takes it. Makes no sense
