G-Nerd bodied Retro.. G-nerd did somthing called dancing. And he hit alot of beats.. Retro hit very few.. i perfer musicality way more then just dance tricks..
@Kierinsu I feel you. At the end of the day it's all opinionated. Both dancers got there fame from this battle so it's a win for both. It's just angering cause people don't understand both styles and make it seem one is so much better than the other. I wish them both well.
Top o.g jookers: lil buck, gnerd, daniel Top gliders and bruk up:ghost, retro Best mix of all styles=marquise scott, poppin jon many others top shelf too that i missed 😎💪
i honestly feel G-nerd used his prefered dancing style to his advantage, with those bouncing movements(buck jumps i think) allowed him to dance fluently to the beat
its funny that people say that turfing consist of bonebreaking waving tutting and gliding. Bonebreaking istn turfing its flexn, so if you bonebreak you a flexer, im from los angeles and im a popper and a bonebreaker still learning, but its just funny as fuck.
To me the turfin bonebreaking stuff is crowd pleasing it seems hard to battle a bonebreaker cause its soo crazy the crowd is gonna react to it more they were acting like gnerd stuff was regular nah dude has serious feet so crisp but he didn't dislocate anything soo he didn't get a lot of ooohhhsss!!!
@terrymagsby Nothing is wrong with Memphis Jookin'. I'm coming outta Brooklyn, NY and all people did in NYC back in the day is breakdance - that's it. Memphis has a style of it's own and I see that they embrace to the fullest and no one can do it like them either. I've seen Chi-town footwork, NYC breakdancers, LA krumpers, Bay Area turfing, ATL dancing, etc...and I must say that Memphis has the most polished footwork I've ever seen and I've been around for a while.
G-Nerd is a great performer who should get alot more credit than whats given to him and i can say the same for retro but that night.. Retro came to battle! Different styles or not, if this was back in the day there would have been no question about retro's W. Now adays its not often that ppl even battle they just perform on stage together. Retro took it back and got personal ... he got that Stackz of SideStreet and One Tribe
I just want a rematch, and I want nerd to humble himself and really turn it up like he usually does when he knows he is battleing a pro. Retro, props to you bro, but I really don't care about this battle, I wanna see one more with both dancers giving it their all. Shouts out to battlefest for throwing the event.
G nerd won....retro fell no one noticed that lol also he didnt dance on beat one time till the end of his 3rd round an lets be real he at home with his crowd until one of these so call best street dancers go to memphis an beat gnerd then they can have bragging rights he go every where an battle the Best in there crowd i salute g for that much love just my thoughts
Nerd won but I think this was his best "out of town"competition. Most of his battles the opposing dancer (if you call what they do dancing) usually just does what the home crowd is use to or relies on a bunch of tricks. Atleast nerd switches it every battle to play for his strengths while still reping Memphis. Keep doing yo Thang and people like are gonna keep watching!!
know what i hate about a person battling outside his/her city is that the crowd doesnt get into it like the home crowd... this battle has been promoted for a long time so that gives u the time to look at the videos of the outside contestants and know how to cheer them on... reason y i say this is because the crowd in this video makes the battle look one sided when its not... to me gnerd is the victor because he more of a smooth dancer... retro depends on his flexibility
I'm from Memphis and I'm a jooker/flexer and I can honestly say retro got that...Gnerd was dope but he could have came waaaaayyyyy harder!!!! He looked like he really wasn't feeling it. Shout out to both dancers though, both are cold as hell!!
i personally like both but everytime i see gnerd he does something different everytime....tro did sum ok stuff but i have literally watched all his videos and im always seeing the same stuff in big battles...come with sum new or nothing at all...if i wasnt in school i wouldn't mind traveling to dance..im not biased. Im always open new danced styles, me personally i cultivate alot of them together..but Gnerd won to me and whoever judging need to not be biased
true... as i said before i like them both... G-nerd has glides out of this world... and he tuts good too but in this battle... he focus'd to much on what part of the body while Retro used most of his in sync.... lets say you battle G-nerd... would you focus on just glide vs him? I wouldn't because he has a much higher level of gliding then me... so i'd use most of everything that i have to win... I'd have a higher chance of winnin vs a lets say a slim chance :).. other then that i like them both
retro brung shit to the table g-nerd wasant expecting he prob was expecting the bonebreaking but retro bring them tricks that go to the music.. that's musicality right there they both dope as hell it was a good battle . at least give both dancers that ..
Wow I've never seen so many haters... IT'S HIS STYLE OF DANCING. Go fucking watch any bonebreaker or flexer and tell me how many beats they hit. Fucking bonez is on a MACDONALDS advert and he doesn't hit beats at all, he just bonebreaks, and people like it. It's fucking hard to do, learning to bonebreak requires just as much time and effort as other styles of dancing. Gliding requires time and effort too. They both went in so I don't care who won, everyone has their opinion but don't hate.
I would have picked G-Nerd but then I'm biased point blank period. I, like many people, gravitate to what I know and the judges probably being from Cali could genuinely appreciate what they knew. Had the battle been held in Memphis or anywhere else in the south, Nerd would have taken it 9 times out of 10 with the other one time being a tie. Good job guys, well done.
for every 1 who says that retro didn't change hes arm twisting it's just an intro dude like every bone breaker .. even bones still do it and allot of dancers 2 ==
The reason why i say retro is because he is bringing so many diff styles of dancing... bone breaking, footwork, miming, turfing, hat tricks, and etc.. and MrFlowseph : how ws tht bones mves?? i know 7:00 mins wasnt from bones and anyone could have dne bone breaking like bones.. bone breaking isnt just from 1 person.
By the logic going on in these comments I bet you guys think the Waltz or Lyrical Contemporary is stupid because it doesn't follow each and every beat.
Turf won b/c of more energy I believe. Nerd kinda just said "whatever" in the 3rd round, ya see? But Turf just kept the energy up and was also creative with "his style." Yes, Buckin is more legit to me. I'm originally from Memphis but now live in L.A. I understand the judging going on here. They both did their thing. Yep yep.
im from oakland and i think that g nerd won his footwork is stupid lite...retro keeps depending on his bone breaking mostly...but i never heard of g nerd so i looked up hella videos of him and i notice that he doesnt do the same moves all the time keeping it fresh....the only thing that tro did dat was fancy when he did a 720 spin but most of the same stuff but overall i would give it 2 g nerd but tro won cause he in cali
g nerd held his ground, retro did pull out some pretty good moves on him tho, all in all their styles are too different for it to be a legit battle. G nerd needs to battle someone who is mainly a glider, his musicality is way better than most gliders out there
Retro did hit beats, it's bullshit how people are trying to say he didn't when a lot of his moves are bonebreaks which are hard as hell to hit beats with, half the fucking battlefest league never hit beats but they don't get hated on for it...
i don't know about all of ya'll. but if retro would have threw my hat, i would have wanted to knock his ass out. shouts out to nerd for not doing that.
Agreed, Retro took it. He defnitely didn't do much turfin as opposed to Flexin, but I will say this, his tutts and bonebreaks have gotten amazing, so I don't even care what you want to call it!
lock em in the trunk goes hard as fuck
i think what makes a dancer so unique is either hits every beat or kum out with creativity.
(Meek Mill - Indian Bounce) the name of the song tro danced to 2nd for anyone that wana know
@thesavoymediagroup almost 30 years
g-nerd buddy jookin is da best style ... ! nice ..!

@mfe1896 Oh lockem in da trunk is the third round. The second one sounds like scarekrow from three 6.
WHATS THE SONG PLAYING FOR RETROS FIRST ROUND?
in memphis we pride ourself on catching every emphasis of a beat, and i must say, g-nerd caught every emphasis with every move, straight on point
This mane said "all I got to do is jook to the beats and it's over" Lmao
damn, g-nerd got that footwork!dope
@QuintG1 True. But when you also look at MUSICALITY in dance Gnerd won ....
its jooking not, pretzel dancing . man yall dudes in cali know nun bout memphis jooking ,. G Nerd won dat easily
2 veryyyyyyyy different danced styles. like its hard to judge honestly
@mfe1896 naww bruh as long as they do it for the music its good...
G Nerd took this one, skills and finesse over amusement.
@BigFreddy88b i knew i wasnt the only one noticing that
G-Nerd bodied Retro.. G-nerd did somthing called dancing. And he hit alot of beats.. Retro hit very few.. i perfer musicality way more then just dance tricks..
Nerd doing his thing in the dance world... I think Lil Buck could hold his own in these leagues as well...
thumbs up if you agree!!
LOL nvm i fond out its indian bounce by meek mill for anyone who wants to know
yeah gnerd's flow is smooth and clean.
I'm at the very left corner. Lol. I remember watching this.
@Kierinsu I feel you. At the end of the day it's all opinionated. Both dancers got there fame from this battle so it's a win for both. It's just angering cause people don't understand both styles and make it seem one is so much better than the other. I wish them both well.
that straight baap!! totally diff styles no way could judge that far nerd went off... would smashed even top jookers on this day
R.I.P. G-NERD
Top o.g jookers: lil buck,gnerd,daniel
Top gliders and bruk up:ghost,retro
Best mix of all styles=marquise scott, poppin jon many others top shelf too that i missed 😎💪
i honestly feel G-nerd used his prefered dancing style to his advantage, with those bouncing movements(buck jumps i think) allowed him to dance fluently to the beat
@mrsbeecherismylove Young Jai (JAY J) - How We Gangsta Walk...
Eff dat! G nerd was killing it!
2 me it was a tie...u can't have 2 different styles battle each other...jookin is complicated and bone breaking is complicated
@INOKZFROMTHEBAY I can't find the answer to this question haha. Nobody wants to answer it.
and i think the only think that didn't change in retro is hes hair !
@hoopcrazy43 That's called "Foot Work" vs. "Arm work"! Don't talk about things that u don't know!
its funny that people say that turfing consist of bonebreaking waving tutting and gliding. Bonebreaking istn turfing its flexn, so if you bonebreak you a flexer, im from los angeles and im a popper and a bonebreaker still learning, but its just funny as fuck.

Oh yeah M-town baby (901)
So is retro considered a turfer? he look like a brooklyn dancer now.
retro

Round 1 & 2 belong to G-Nerd but he gave it to Retro in Round 3
G nerd won....retro fell no one noticed that lol also he didnt dance on beat one time till the end of his 3rd round an lets be real he at home with his crowd until one of these so call best street dancers go to memphis an beat gnerd then they can have bragging rights he go every where an battle the Best in there crowd i salute g for that much love just my thoughts

In the Netherlands we have a saying for this: comparing apples with pears xD
@YungMalThaKid but ladia learned how to jook in memphis...
g nerd slaughtered that dude
gnerd did all the same moves over and over again. retro showed me something i've never seen before, and thats pretty amazing to me.
I'm from Memphis and I'm a jooker/flexer and I can honestly say retro got that...Gnerd was dope but he could have came waaaaayyyyy harder!!!! He looked like he really wasn't feeling it. Shout out to both dancers though, both are cold as hell!!
@bornelder11 naw bro hands down? thats a strong statement that needs elaboration... both of them was killin
Even through retro took this and i was goign for him u gotta remember gnerd style is not known in the bay
G nerd had musicality Retro had Energy simple as that
Retro...he nice but more of a circus type. Nerd was half assing. Buck brings the beast out of nerd.
I SEE MYSSELF!
Double jointed freak show vs jookin....jookin wins .
i personally like both but everytime i see gnerd he does something different everytime....tro did sum ok stuff but i have literally watched all his videos and im always seeing the same stuff in big battles...come with sum new or nothing at all...if i wasnt in school i wouldn't mind traveling to dance..im not biased. not one time did retro dance on beat with the music, what was the point of him even having music????
Super respect to both. Tro got heem!
NERD Feet Sick RETRO Arms Nasty..........
@jrcougar83 rollin lil- wayne....
g nerd completely ....all ReTro did was arm tricks
true... as i said before i like them both... g-nerd had it on musicality but retro went in hard was that even turfing? it looked more like flexing
retro and bonez shuld battle one time
Yea this version does justice Nerd won!!!!!!!!
for every 1 who says that retro didn't change hes arm twisting it's just an intro dude like every bone breaker .. even bones still do it and allot of dancers 2 ==

Retort is dope but in small dosees. Your right he doesn't have any battle in his style. Nerd always goes.
dude gliding in boots, COME ON NOW!
Retro clearly likes men
G-nerd got it, but I think Retro vs Bones and G nerd vs Krow woulda been a little bit better matchups... just my opinion
RETRO
Retro!
Okay there is a difference between dancing and being a fucking freak show.
G-NERD ALL DAY....ALL DAT ARM BREAKIN SHYT IS GETTIN OLD......
By the logic going on in these comments I bet you guys think the Waltz or Lyrical Contemporary is stupid because it doesn't follow each and every beat.

bonebreaking isnt old especially here in the uk!! its a new style!! retro took this shit!!
Agreed, Retro took it. He defnitely didn't do much turfin as opposed to Flexin, but I will say this, his tutts and bonebreaks have gotten amazing, so I don't even care what you want to call it!
