Very informative. Most reviewers don't point out the nuances of hull design and material. Thanks!

Wood strip, marine plywood, with epoxy resin and fiberglass, aka composite, is amazingly strong, durable, tough and beautiful. Repairable and custom-able. Downside- takes longer to build and costly. I've got one in my backyard that's 20 years old and going strong.
    Beautiful yak you've got there.

Great review. I wish I could afford one of these Eddyline sea kayaks right now. They make a great product. Thanks for posting this.

Canoeing The Edge Of The World - i get it! Still want a Carbonlite Eddyline Raven but they are hard to find and more than I want to pay.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I've never had a chance to paddle an original Falcon, but they were much loved and respected by those that did. Sorry I can't help more.

Can a sea kayak double as an ocean kayak to combine scuba diving with distance kayaking ?

I would like to make a few comments (correctly I hope) and not in any way disparage the reviewer. I appreciate the review and the effort to post it. This boat is NOT a carbonlite 2000 hull kayak. It is very clear to see that the hull material is a composite lay up when the camera moves into the cockpit area. A white Carbonlite hull will be white outside and inside. The deck is probably thermoformed, but the hull is not. Comments regarding Swede form I feel errantly describe what Swede form is. Swede form has to do where the widest portion of the hull exists and not where the cockpit is located. A swede form hull such as the P+H Cetus locates its cockpit in a more forward position. Fish form is a more symmetrical shape with the widest part of the hull midship. Swede form moves the widest portion aftwards. Finally, the video ends with what is the cardinal sin of kayaking. Always wear a PFD. Outside of these comments, nice review and thank you for your effort to share.

Mopar Harn Thanks for the comments, Mopar Harn. This boat definitely IS a Carbonlite 2000 hull. This particular model had the Kevlar insert as well which was an option that year and why it appears to be composite from the inside. The Carbonlite hull and the Kevlar insert were bonded for additional stiffness. As for Swede vs Fish, Eddyline considers this a Swede Form which is interesting because the hull is actually more symmetrical while the cockpit is unusually far back, resulting in the widest part of the hull being slightly forward of the cockpit. Which is right? Not sure.... Finally, no PFD. Totally agree, and even though my lake rarely gets deeper than 5 feet, the rule is a good one. Thanks for watching!
