This is a very extensive Paritta Recitation Luang Por Tong Deang was leading us chanting for New Year's Eve at his monastery Wat Doi Phra Jao Ton Luang. For instance, it was the first time that I heard the 'Great Galaxy of Blessings' being included (usually we only chant the 'Small Galaxy of Blessings').
The resonant and powerful chanting was done by a Sangha of 15 monks including 9 Mahātheras, and a very strong and experienced group of female voices as well. I'm also very happy with the recording quality, stereo effect and natural reverb (not added, but in original recording) - best to be enjoyed with good around-the-ears headphones or good loudspeakers with decent bass.
The slideshow of the video shows 'Phra Buddha Sihing' at Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Phra Buddha Sihing is widely considered the second most sacred Buddha Statue in Thailand, after the Emerald Buddha.
It's legendary origins claim that it originated in Sri Lanka, hence the name 'Sihing'/'Singh' = lion.
There's also two pics of the great gilded stupa/chedi at Wat Phra Singh, located adjacent to the shrine hall housing the Phra Buddha Sihing.
(However, there are two other places in Thailand claiming to house the legendary 'Phra Buddha Sihing', one being Wat Phra Mahathat in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat, and the other one the Bangkok National Museum)
