  • This time we are going to utilize the NEW Shape Builder Tool in Inkscape 1.3. This tool is brilliant, but there are some cons to it.

    what if we optimize svg online? will the extra nodes go while preserving the shape?

    • @mhy_net
      @mhy_net  Рік тому +3

      I already test it out. The result is YES, some of extra nodes is gone. But I notice a couple of glitch. For example there's unwanted negative space inside logo itself. Also, the optimization is not really work on straight line apparently, but works really well on curve. THIS svg (from the tutorial) started from 1127 nodes and ends up in 598 nodes using svgoptimizer.com (twice). In SUMMARY, the best practice is to get rid of the nodes manually, especially on straight line and inside the shapes. Then optimize it automatically using online tools or others.
      Your comment is pretty important. I might pin one. I hope you don't mind.

    Terima kasih Mas Muhammad. So excited that Inkscape introduced the SB tool plus LPEs. Inkscape and Krita are my favourite open source art apps and I am loving that so many new channels are popping up on UA-cam. You explained and demonstrated this very well. Sangat Sukses for your channel! 🙏🏼

    Great channel!
    Had Your What's New In 1.3 vid recommended.
    There's now shape builder templates too.
    You can select when You start up Inkscape in the dialog box and probably too under file -> open template, or whatever it's called, and they actually have a Celtic knot template, but it's that classic triquetra/trinity knot, rather than this more dara knot style Bowen knot, and I really like how You did that, and also that You pointed out how buggy it is, that there's lots of unnecessary nodes everywhere, but like You said, it's the first iteration of the shape builder.
    The new flatten and fracture functions are great too!

      @mhy_net  Рік тому +3

      You're right, Inkscape do have that template. Thanks a lot! Inkscape will get better of course.

    Nice . Good try. Your knot sequence is it correct. Examine you image then compare to yours. You’ll see what I mean.

    I have downloaded inkscape 1.3 and installed. But when i draw any shape e.g square etc it has default opacity = 0 therefore while drawing on screen nothing displays. After drawing i set layer opacity to 100 % and after that the shape is visible. i checked out every possible cause but can't find anything. it's parent layer or page default opacity also is 100% what should be the reason behind it can you tell? i have already tried reinstalling inkscape several times but the problem persists.

      Not sure what happen there. Is it still the same when you open inkscape template document? Maybe you can reset the preferences. I have the tutorial for that: ua-cam.com/video/wrcp7wXeW1/v-deo.html
      I plan to make tutorial on how to make custom default document. We just have to wait and see.

    Very good tutorial; thanks. Did you break the radial symmetry of the figure on purpose? Just asking, because I prefer a version that looks the same no matter how it's rotated (in 90-degree increments, of course). In other words, all crossings are opposite their adjacent crossings, over vs under.

    • @mhy_net
      @mhy_net  Рік тому

      Yes, I did it on purpose, just for the demonstration of many repetitive nodes.

    Just found your channel and it looks like a great place to learn Inkscape. So trying this design and I am having a problem when you cut the path. First when I draw the first line down works like it should. The second horizontal line I click on the center point but the two line do not become one shape. Then when I try to cut the path it tells me one of the objects is not a path and can’t compete the Boolean operation. Where am I going wrong? Thank you for your help.

      Is it on 04:38? In case on that, make sure you snap it on Rectangle Node that's locate in middle of the circle. Which is created after you create the line. That node act as a base point for your line that define the shape/curvature of the line. So, if we want to make it into one shape, make sure it is in touch with the shape itself.

    bro, how to achieve appearance menu in the Inkscape or by what way can we achieve this in the inkscape ?

    • @mhy_net
      @mhy_net  Рік тому

      You can go to the 'Edit' > 'Preferences'. Now go to 'Interface' > 'Theming'. There you can edit theme and icons. You can also change how the document looks, by going to 'File' > 'Document Setup'. I'' create a video in the future for that. Subscribe to stay tune.
