Long overdue project . Wish it had happen sooner but Christi made sure it never happened 10 years ago.
One could say that Christy Kreme sat on it…
At the beach 😂
@@starventure💀💀
Not to mention he made it far more expensive and removed what would have been one of the smartest investments in NYC because that plan also included plans for a link between NY Penn and Grand Central.
No kidding, Christie was a short sided fool who just wanted to run for President
Very impressive! Let’s keep working on the all the Gateway Program projects
Decades overdue.. Glad to see this is getting done on time and on budget...
If only th crazy former NJ governor didn't cancel it before
Thank goodness there is finally an administration to move public transportation in the right direction finally.
I wish my job would celebrate at 50% completion of projects 😂
Remember they were also under budget. So they spend the extra money on the fancy event for the politicians 😂
I’m so happy we are even at this stage, thank god we finally got it funded!
next NJ and Amtrak can get some trains that look like they're from this century
Exactly! Why do they keep using stainless steel, it looks so ugly. At least Amtrak has been starting to move away from that recently.
NJT should get those new double-deckers from Stadler that Caltrain has.
You don't have to paint stainless steel. It makes the car lighter & saves $
@@p1xel1115 LESS RUST...
@@TheMrPeteChannel Stainless steel IS modern. You should have seen what it replaced.
It's nice to see something going according to plan and on budget
Great news to hear, I hope the new port bridge from Secaucus construction will be completed soon as possible.
Love it!! We needed the infrastructure act badly.
Politicians really milking the heck out of a protect that's only half done lmao
American infrastructure construction? On time? On budget? I must be dreaming
Biden gettin it done
The only good thing Biden’s done in his entire 50 year career in politics 😉
I really hope that bridge is future-proof for High Speed Rail
Nice. Glad it’s taller so that there are no interruptions from boats
Glad it is on time and on budget. Hopefully no shortcuts are being done that are discovered in a decade. Time will tell if that is the case.
Portal? I never thought I'd see a resonance cascade, let alone create one …
Bill Pascrell still in congress that should tell you everything you need to know about our problems.
It is on time that's right but only because of Swedish Company SKANSKA that is working on this project
It's a joint venture between them and Traylor Brothers, Skanska the majority. Skanska actually bought out several US companies years ago and thus gain the pre-qualifying.
The cost and schedule of a project are more on the project's design than the construction contractor. A great design with no change orders equates to no additional costs and contract extensions.
Now what about the Gateway Tunnel?
Construction started late last year.
This is a great, but the fact that the new tunnels being built will demolish the entire block south of Penn Station is ridiculous. We need to force MSG out so that we can not only rebuild Penn Station back to its former glory, but also save all the residents and businesses there from being forcing out and protect the historic 1872 St. John the Baptist Church there from being demolished.
1:09 I mean, it’s not a myth when majority of projects do go over budget and constantly delayed. This build is an exception. If you really want to prove the myth wrong, show us
Great stuff, but we need to get to the point where 'building critical infrastructure' isn't a newsworthy event.
Kas construction
Concrete looks cheap.
There's always someone saying this or that can't be done but there is someone that knows and will get tit done. Negative naysayers have been around for ages and will always
be here. The doers get thing moving and finished.
Half finished 😂
Bidenomics in the work 🇺🇲
114 years old?!?!?!? How embarrassing. Thanks President Biden for signing the Infrastructure bill!
Thanks Biden.
Let's make America Great Again. President Biden getting it done.👍👍👍👍👍
Half done 😂😂😂😅
Technically this started under Bush.
@@spacetoast7783 So you're blaming Bush now. /s
Remember when that Orange Turd kept "promising" Infrastructure Deals? Promises made, promises broken.
Haven't they been working on this since 2009?
Nope, August of 2022. Full completion with trains running will be sometime in 2027.
No. Christie nukes it
We have a forward thinking president and is going to elect a new person that's going screw up what Biden has put into action. NO, NO, as the old song said ; "Don't Do It'.
Thanks to President Biden. Infrastructure! While Trump is busy farting inside court. 😂
Only in Bidens America do we have an entire fancy event to celebrate a HALF COMPLETED bridge 😅 just fishish the damb thing 😂
Press release from NJ Transit == fancy Biden event
NJ loaded with dems of course they would they are finally doing something
Biden should resign
Why?
THANK YOU PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN!!!
Delusional fool. What is the actual inflation rate?
The trump administration most likely wouldn’t have approved funding for this which was clearly needed.
These clowns have no choice to be on time and on budget, the FIAT currency is worthless and near collapse.
Okay goldbug
@@counterfit5 Okay FIAT currency holder.
@@whiskeykilo2h429 When is the last time you bought groceries or paid your utility bills with gold?
Turn off the Fox and ground yourself in reality.
@@patrickwhelan5703 who stated anything about Fox? Keep living in the FIAT currency/ Rothschild illusion.
They could have replaced the swing bridge with a new swing bridge and saved billions of dollars. The Portal Bridge only opens maybe 6 times a week to let some sewage barges through. The Germans replaced the Friesen Swing Bridge for a mere $150 million.
A taller bridge removes the most of the problems of having a moving one. No need to maintain a bunch of moving parts. No need to have a bridge operator. Trains no longer have to slow down to a crawl to go over bridge joints.
I hope the new bridge is high enough.
That would never work, as the main problem is that the swing bridge constantly has to be open and closed which delays train traffic. Having a taller bridge to ship traffic can go underneath makes more sense. If not, you're not actually solving the problem. You just spending billions to keep the same problem. Not to mention the Long-Term maintenance cost of a swing bridge
@jamesbarrett918 That would present too many operational challenges. You’d shut down an entire rail line, and a cargo water line by building a new swing bridge. The approach would never happen, so building a new one and taking the old out after would be plausible. After all the bridge will separate itself from high boat clearance.
No. Yo in need to go taller
