Your guest does not know India facts. Haryana was not separated by Modi from Punjab. GST reform did not happen without states’ consent . There are ongoing issues but need negotiations

I think Modi government was a slip. He meant center could just create new states by legislation which very hard to do in Pakistan.

Center and states in India have clear demarcation of responsibility with no overlap. Around 50% of states are from different political parties and are often at loggerhead with the center. States weild considerable power.

There is a concurrent list of responsibilities in the constitution where state and center both share power.

Implementation of GST required the toughest Const Amendment, ie even after majority at C it required 50% States to pass with majority. GoI gave states the incentives of 14% YoY growth guarantee for 5 years, ie even If GST did not collect more tax it gave all state 5 yrs of guaranteed growth, which is equal to tenure of govt. Even though INC did not agree in start, being a federal polity lot of regional parties DID.

34:00 Wow!! I didn't know Modi as a 16 year old had enough power to break Punjab into Punjab and Haryana 😮😮😮😮
FYI Haryana was formed in 1966. The latest state to have been formed was Telangana by Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in March 2014 before Modiji came to power

😅Some misconceptions about GST In this video was there.
GST, koi Fedral Tax nahi hai.
GST is taxed by GST council.
Aur GST council me dono States and Center member hai.
Infact, Center ke paas usme sirf 1/3rd voting power hai, States ke paas baaki.
Aur Revenue sharing ka baat kare to, ye 50%-50% hai, every recipt me lika bhi hota hai.
So, its neither Fedral Tax, nor it's State Tax.
Rather, both State and Center gave up their right of Indirect Taxsation to GST council.
Which earlier, both were taxing separately.
So, jo Tax wasoolne wala Authority hai wo State ka hai,
but States wasooli bahut achhe se karti hai GST ka kyu ki usme 50% share to unka hi hai. 😂
    Note:
Few items like, Petrol ⛽️, Alcahol🍻 and Tabacoo 🚬 are not included in GST regime.
Wo un product par abhi bhi State alag se Tax lagati hai.

To alter federal structure of the province in India parliament needs special majority of parliament (2/3 majority...) along with the ratification of half of the states, legislatures by a simple majority, which is quite impossible if emergency case doesn't appear. Thank you 😊👍

Looking at India with a coloured prism is inevitable for Pakistani s in general as it’s for Indians about Pakistan.
Umair himself must’ve disabused himself about many notions when he visited India.
Another argument in favour of increasing the travel and visiting opportunities and trade. There will be less demonisation

  • @charlesmauricedetalleyrand7921

This gentleman has no idea of India’s federal structure. States are equally if not more powerful under the constitution. What you did under 18th amendment was already in the three lists: union, state and concurrent. Secondly , three states were created in early 2000s by Vajpayee Government. These require constitutional amendment by 2/3rd majority, approval of state legislative assembly concerned.

@@siddharthatalukdar4227 😂😂 funny. But if we go on facts then on December 1957 in Hindi-speaking areas of Punjab, had paved the way for the demand for the formation of Haryana as a separate state for the Hindi speaking people of the united Punjab state. On 23 April 1966, while acting on the report submitted by the parliamentary committee, the Indian government set up the Punjab Boundary Commission under the chairmanship of Justice J. C. Shah, to divide and set up the boundaries of Punjab and Haryana.

When did Modi Govt segregate Punjab from Haryana? Haryana came into existence in 1966. I am shocked that such a learned economist from Pakistan makes false off-hands statement. This shows irrational paranoia regarding our PM Modi that people across all sections have in Pakistan😂

I do observe that Pakistanis are afraid of Modi. They think Modi is more anti-pakistan than Congress which in India works in favour of Modi also I think the decision of Imraan Khan to not to trade with India actually made India realise that
all they have to do is Ignore Pakistan and it will destroy itself(which btw they are doing). The Chinese threat to India gave Indians a new way forward as politicians are now focusing on China and competition with China will make India stronger.
As they say, the stronger the enemy the stronger you will get while chasing it. The US worked on this fundamental principle and became and remain a superpower.

They should read schedule 7, Article 1 to 4, Article 279, 280, GST Act. Unlike pak our constituion has been there since 47 and GST was proposed by UPA but implemented by NDA.

    • @gauravipal9518
      @gauravipal9518 Рік тому

The proposal by UPA did not address concerns of states which consumed less than they produced. They would be net losers since GST was a tax on consumption which replaced excise a tax on production. UPA did not address the problem, NDA did. The fundamental design of GST as currently implemented is hy NDA. Do not undermine. The contrribution by simply calling them implementers.

Pakistan should start with basic reforms & Land reform , Land Ceiling is the most important and then move forward to a Green Revolution to boost Farm productivity. Either do it on your own or default and be humiliated to do it. Also tax the landlords and ultra rich.

The last segment is extremely worrisome. There doesn’t appear to be any short time solution. And with the world taking its eyes off Pakistan, there is no global attention as well.
This will impact 200 million people and could destabilise the whole region. Good discussion though

Another (24th) dose of slow poison is introduced in the dying Pakistani economy.
Even though the possibility of patient 's recovery is remote, IMF's latest dose might send the patient into deep coma and the eventual death.
What Pakistan should do is to declare a moratorium of 5 years on all international obligations falling due and take harshest steps to revive the economy with the help of local economists having grassroots knowledge about country's problems and a stake in its welfare.
Unless Pakistanis take steps to become self-reliant, and remove corruption in public life and defense forces no matter how much foreign aid comes in from the brotherly countries, China and imf, the economy won't recover.

Having an amateur understanding of economics this is my practical steps to improve Pakistan's economy
      1) Reform education system and abolish religious education
      2) Efficient irrigation
      3) Start trade with India and Iran
      4) Reduce Army budget
      5) Land reforms
      6) Forestation especially around Indus river basin
      7) Dismantle terrorism and handover terrorists to India
      8) Break Punjab into minimum 2-3 provinces for better administration
      9) Encourage women to work
      10) Population control
