Seriously the best comparison video i've found and i've been researching for a while.
Thanks for the feedback. It helps me make better videos in the future!
All of your reviews have been incredibly informative and I appreciate the in depth comparison. This man deserves WAY more subs/views!
Very good info. Learned to pick Adi power for personal preference. Thanks!👍🏼
I'm getting into lifting and have arthritis in my big toe. The stiff upper of the adipower 1 was pinching my toes too much but I toughed it out for a year. Found the adipower 2 and it's sooo comfy.
Thanks for your show. I suppose absolutely Roma or do-win is much fit for me than adipower, because I have wide feet and need more upper support.
Thanks
Great video, I have a question though. Would you recommend either of these shoes for someone who is just getting into lifting? Also are they true to size or did you go up a size? Thanks
Sizing - Both of these run narrow. I go 1/2 size up on the Rom 4. I don't know what to tell you on the Adipower 2 - it's very, very narrow in the toes (I can't really even use the pair shown in this video they are so narrow). I recommend lifters for anyone planning to do heavy barbell workouts - powerlifting, bodybuilding, or Olympic lifting. Once you try them, you'll understand. The heel raise and the super-solid heel make a world of difference. If you can't afford these, go with something that has a very stable heel - like the Metcon 6 or Nano X.
Great review!
seeing the adipowers 2 just makes me wish i bought more pairs of the 1s
i've been looking for weeks to where i can get the 1st gen adipower, now i'm losing hope :(
@@byronquinones2441 doubt you will find new ones also doubt they will re-sell this model again, search for them on ebay or such sites weekly, luckly i found a red pair after half a year my size in very good shape
Just when I'm about to look for another pair or 1st gen after owning a pair for 7 years done me great hate change want another of same there that good
Hope the romaleos 4 are same spec
Hello. Adipower 3 are more stabilizing? Than adipower 2
Just wanted to give you a shout out :) because of your amazing insight reviews I got myself legacy lifters and Nanos 9. I would appreciate if you could review under armour hovr apex. I already placed an order for that shoe but will like to know your insights.
Glad I could help. I do have two pairs of HOVR shoes on the way - but it's the Machina and Velociti. Not sure when that'll be up - probably 2 weeks out.
@@fitatmidlife927 fun fact, I ordered machina shoes too lol 😂 😂 again would really like to see your insights on them
@@SK-jy9pw LOL it's nice to have choices. As you can imagine, I have storage issues for all of mine , with more on the way.
Pls do a Nike Romaleos 4 vs Tyr - l1 lifters
As someone who only needs weightlifting shoes for (non-competitive) powerlifting, does the lack of stability in the Adipowers matter?
Probably a matter of personal preference. I feel like the other shoes (Rom 4, Legacy Lifter) give better lateral stability. A little more comforting when squatting heavy.
If by rocksolid stability on the nikes you mean they feel like strapping your feet into snowboard boots then I guess you are right. Flexibility and flexion is a good thing. That’s just my opinion of course it’s the Nikes or your thing then there are your thing I guess
Why so long? Also do you realise that Adidas basically invented the weightlifting shoes and must be flexible to facilitate the split jerk? Those are weightlifting shoes, not powerlifting ones.
There is a heel cup in the adipower 2 too, why did you only flex the very top part?
Yes, there's a heel cup - but all the shoes have that. The weak, flimsy part on the Adipower is the sides. The other shoes give much more support there.
Can you compare the 1st adipower vs the new romaleo 4?
Stay with your adipower 1 lol I've tried the romaleos 4 but they suck really bad vs the adipower 1
Where can I buy
Where are you? In the US - Academy Sports or Road Runner Sports. Otherwise, I think you'll have to wait until May 1st if you are anywhere else.
How would you size compared with Metcon 5s? im a 12 in Metcon 5s
I'm personally using same size (11.5) in both Metcon 5 and Romaleos 4. I'm an 11 in just about every other shoe.
(The white pair in this video is 11.5, the black pair is 12, but I think the 12s too long and 11.5 have enough width for me personally)
Honestly these don't deserve the name of Adipower. It's basically a crossfit shoe
Mike have you tried them? I thought the same but I got some in the sale for less than half price. They are more similar to the originals than you might think, once you get them side by side.
The funniest thing about these two shoes is that they are both listed at $200. The adipower 2’s are definitely a rip-off compared to the Nike Romaleos 4.
I found a pair at Ross for 30 bucks. I tried on the Nikes but I didn’t want to pay 200 they were uncomfortable and they cut into your ankles and look like moon boots. Hardly any range of motion. The adidas have been comfortable and worked well. I can actually push thru my heels now. If it wasn’t for Tom Platz I would’ve still been using the chuck t’s his shoes are straight from a leprechaun. That green belt is the tits though. I need one
I had to get the 4s on StockX and ended up paying double retail but certainly worth it.
Which shoes tho is the best for deadlifting as well?
Personally I prefer minimal drop for deadlifting. That said it's a toss up between these two.
The Nike sounds like it has a harder bottom.🤷♂️
Those damn romaleos just look sooooo much better that alone just ends adi for me they are ugly! Great review tho man !
Weight lifting shoes should be made out of leather. Leather stretches and saves the glue and forms to your foot.
At least everyone is getting away from the fake leather and going to nylon but leather is king. The plastic vs wood heal is somewhat debatable because you can get the bucket effect for balance out of plastic better. Leather though is no debate for me.
@@fitatmidlife927 thanks for the video man. You should make a video on the overall decline of adidas quality in their flag ship weightlifting shoes since 2012 while other brands have risen like Nike, Reebok, and Velaasa. No one in the weight lifting community has talked about it.
Wow, nike actually outdid adidas in the quality department. Germans are getting complacent I see.
Adipower is now 20 euros more expensive than Romaleos or Legacy Lifter. The decision is easy.
Adidas for lifting "weights" and for playing tennis. Nike for Olylifts.
Anyone else mad that adidas quit making the old adipower to give us this crap? It's like they are trying to give aways their market to Nike.
@@FrankMaster73 ahhhh man, thats really inconveient, they seem to be one of the few who are going to continue putting out proper shoes.
@@getstrongby4038 my adipowers are still pretty fresh since I have been hurt off and on a lot due to surgeries I needed to get. They will probably last another Olympic cycle easy.
If the Nike or Adidas doesn't figure their stuff out I am probably buying a pair of Velaasa Strakes.
adipower 2 is a joke. I sent them right back to amazon and bought Nordic shoes and they are much better for 50 bucks less.
Love my romaleos but man they're ugly!
how could Adidas make such an ugly shoe?
