We live in LA and passed through the RC HMB when we were over in Monterey. In short, it's hilarious what passes for a 5 star hotel in the Bay Area...and at $900/night to boot. The location is great, I'll give it that. Nice video!
We had the view of the courtyard overlooking the fire pit! Best 160k point we every spent. My family transferred our points from chase and Amex into Marriott for free stays for two nights. We spent roughly an additional $700 on side. I highly recommending dining outside the hotel lol. Go to the beach, I almost died coming back up from the cliff. My wife went to spa and we did the smore night by the fire. This is worth it guys. I miss you San Francisco!
I still haven't stayed at a Ritz-Carlton, but I definitely want to. This seemed like a great property besides the no free brekkie Please keep making videos like this. Thanks!!
short answer... no we looked at the rooms on the first floor with its own firepit overlooking the bluff/water.. over 1100 a night. and the rooms are small. for that cash, you never want to leave your room. and valet parking only is a hard pass too.. we live over the hill and always wanted to stay, but we said no after we toured the room...
Thank you for showcasing this property. I have been looking at this property and wondering when might be a good time to visit. Hopefully, when the Club lounge is open.
I am now greatly upset I haven't gotten a mascot while staying at Ritz-Carltons. Abama (Tenerife), Kuala Lumpur, Bali, etc. and all I got was a bill lol
The Ritz in HMB does offer a free daily break fast for two and a $100 credit to be used in a restaurant or the spa. But the booking has to be booked on an Amex card under their fine hotel program
I used to live up the road from the Ritz when it first opened. I would go and enjoy the restaurant, cozy bar and have tea by the big fireplace. I would never stay there as back then it was about $300/night. Now that it's $900/night, I would never stay there. Enjoy all the amenities and save your money.
🦁 -not sure if you knew, but this hotel was the setting for the 2003 film American Wedding. Looks amazing, but probably beyond my budget particularly as I love a good breakfast!
🦁 It looks like a nice place to stay. We typically stay at the Ritz Carlton in the desert in Southern California in late Fall or winter. We always enjoy it!
You said in so many words that you avoided parking cost? I thought regardless that all Ritz-Carltons have mandatory valet service fee added to your daily stay. Great video as usual!
🦁 How did you guys utilize the two credit cards during this stay at this property? Thinking to get the Ritz Carlton card in place of my Boundless card. Thoughts between the two?
I used to go to the Ritz Half Moon Bay many times always fantastic but it is expensive I was thinking of getting the Ritz Chase credit card you have to pay for $450 a year but you do get a free night each year plus you get credits on travel or hundred-dollar food credits what are your thoughts? Also when you stay for every dollar at a Marriott which is owned by the Ritz you get 6 points per dollar 3 points per dollar on restaurant and two points for everything else, I would like to get discounts staying at the ritz half moon bay what credit card do you think is the best option to go with I will only stay to or three times a year, which credit card would be the best option to get the best benefit because I stay local I live in Stanford California
🦁I'm always amazed when I see large family groups staying at this property. The value for a room just isn't there imo. And $32 for avo toast? Order doordash from HMB if you don't have a car (or even the 2mn walk to the golf grill spot will save you $$). You didn't book anything at the Spa, or hear the bagpiper at sunset? Overall it's a beautiful spot for a drink on the terrace or a special occasion meal at Navio. It is so pretty when it's decked out for a wedding. Agree with you that the staff are incredible.
Hi Mandy, we really enjoy watching your videos and hope you can post more about how you redeemed credit card free nights! By the way, do you know how many Hyatt personal cards can you get from Chase for the free night certificates? It's a shame that the business version does not offer free night certificates. Thanks for your time!
🐻 Love your review. The hotel looks nice but feel it’s better to visit during warmer time. Always nice to see you both have fun trying out different hotels 🏨 😊🎉
🦁. Just stayed at my first Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis using my Amex Platinum Fine Hotels $200 Credit. Sadly no mascots or chocolates in St. Louis. That looks like a great property and would love to visit it someday.
This was our go to hotel during the pandemic. So funny you refused to pay up for breakfast, same here. I even provided feedback about the 2 eggs for $40.
@@MandyRoams IIRC you used to be able to get the slowest days for 35K or was it 50k? I missed the booking by a couple of days when the new tiers went into effect. We'll try again with our new RC certs.
I stayed there last year aswell 👍🏽 To much money for parking . Cant get access to your car Unless you track down a vallet. They expect a tip.just for getting your keys 🤷🏾♂️... It was Beautiful but a little expensive for me . Ocean view room top floor of main building 😎
My wife and I have never received a mascot at either Ritz Carlton or Conrad. Do you have to ask for it or they just leave it on the bed for you like this time? Thanks!
Was the parking free for Platinum members at least, loved the food. This is why I was so pissed when Amex devalued the $300 credit to $25/month. At least you had the Ritz-C $300 credit.

Agree!
judging by the mane those were two male lions just one was in a pink shirt

Good point for those who don't mind paying cash! Used an 85k free night certificate this time, so no additional perks.
Waste of money to pay cash there.

Love love love every Ritz property I’ve stayed in so far! Definitely adding this one to the list for when I make it out there!
Let us know when you're in SF! :)

That is one of my favorite properties. Best part of it is going into the downtown and getting the fig and prosciutto pizza and gnocchi at It’s Italia.
You said in so many words that you avoided parking cost? I thought regardless that all Ritz-Carltons have mandatory valet service fee added to your daily stay. Great video as usual!
they do.. there its 20 during the week, 50 on weekends

Is that a Daytona I see @ 0:09?
Edit: Better shot's at 7:40
I would try the property at least once. But you're right the prices are insane. Did you buy or get to keep the two lions?
Mascots are usually complimentary at properties that have them.
@@MandyRoams Very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Property seems relaxing thank you for this wonderful video tour! 📸🐻 Oh Lion 🦁 strawberry 🍓🍓
I live in HMB and this was fun to see. Good news is anyone can go and enjoy the ambiance without staying there.
The property looks very elegant! Awesome video
Thank you!
🐻 Love your review. The hotel looks nice but feel it’s better to visit during warmer time. Always nice to see you both have fun trying out different hotels 🏨 😊🎉
Thank you 🤗
LOL "warmer time", it's the Coastside, it doesn't get warm here.
I’ve always wondered what the ritz looks like 👍
Did you book with points or a certificate?
Used an 85k certificate.
Great video. Looking forward to our stay here next year. 🦁
🦁. Just stayed at my first Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis using my Amex Platinum Fine Hotels $200 Credit. Sadly no mascots or chocolates in St. Louis. That looks like a great property and would love to visit it someday.
Surprised St. Louis didn't have chocolates during turn down service! You usually have to request the mascot w/ the concierge or front desk.
We go there for our anniversary we love it. Live in the East Bay. Jealous about the Christmas ornament very cool 🦁
Have you stayed at the new Ritz Carlton in Mexico City?
🦁 These are the kind of small gestures we were expecting at the Ritz in Denver. I would have loved to have an ornament!
Gorgeous property. This video has definitely persuaded me to check it out
Love that the hotels have their own scents also (at least Ritz…not sure about rest)
This was our go to hotel during the pandemic. So funny you refused to pay up for breakfast, same here. I even provided feedback about the 2 eggs for $40.
If it costs more than a fancy brunch in SF, the price is too high. < $30 would've been ok.
Great video. I recall the 2 of you coming here a long time ago from a past video. I assume some 85k certificates and points were used for the stay?
Yep! Used an 85k certificate. The property is available for 85k points on slow days.
@@MandyRoams IIRC you used to be able to get the slowest days for 35K or was it 50k? I missed the booking by a couple of days when the new tiers went into effect. We'll try again with our new RC certs.
It used to be ~50k before the new tiers went into effect.
I stayed there last year aswell 👍🏽

You have to ask the front desk or concierge for them.
@@MandyRoams I just saw they were placed in bed for you guys which was so sweet! Wondering why they never did that to us? LOL! Happy New Year Mandy
Is that a Daytona on Sebby's wrist?
I enjoyed this video! 💜💜💜
🦁 staying there next month!
🦁would definitely stay there! We’ve stayed at 3 Ritz-Carlton hotels and we have never received a lion plush 😢. That is too cute!
Was the parking free for Platinum members at least, loved the food. This is why I was so pissed when Amex devalued the $300 credit to $25/month. At least you had the Ritz-C $300 credit.
No free parking :(
Very nice but breakfast too expensive.
🦁 Wait how did you book it? Two free nights? How many points/night?
Stayed for one night, used a 85k night certificate. Slow day dynamic pricing = 85k points.
I like those golf courses
🦁 way to fancy for us…. For dinner I’d just want some wings and some beer :)
Love the review, keep up the great work thank you for the motivation
Thanks for watching!
So why is the boundless product change worth it to ritz? At least I get an upgrade with boundless. No breakfast though.
Nice hotel but wouldn’t pay the $900 for it. Credits ftw.
💀 💀 💀 💀 Maybe they looked at the breakfast menu!!!! HA
🤪
Thank you for sharing. 🦁❤
Thanks for watching! :)
That entire old course was Arnolds design
This looks like a great place to visit. They have this crazy $200 brunch on weekends. Hard pass on that as well
The weekend brunch is $250 + tax and tip now 😱 I'm not sure Seb would be full from it since it's a timed brunch 😅
great hotel
🦁 more please
$14 for a prepackaged plastic bowl of cereal??
Right?? 😱
🦁 ❤
🦁
Thanks for watching! :)

is it hard for sebby not to talk on your videos? lol
You won’t heart this ❤😢
I hope you will refrain from using GOD's name in vain ( 5:00 ) so I can continue to watch your informative videos. Thanks.
