You guys were giving him a hard time, but Einar was actually acting similar to Thors in episode 1, just a bit more foolhardy. He was really advocating for a slave without needing to know the story. Einar was just struggling to control his emotions and didn’t consider the greater risk of being a slave himself
Yeah, Einar is just kindhearted and wants what is best for Arnheid. There’s no petty stealing someone’s wife shit. He acknowledged Gardar was her previous husband and didn’t want him to die because that would be another horrible thing to happen to Arnheid. Sure he would still want to be with her if the circumstances were right, but not because he let her husband get killed.

I love the depth of conversations between characters in Vinland Saga. It has very important themes that can be applied to our real world.
