Cube just said something awesome… he said he doesn’t get how the NBA thinks his league is they’re competition… that proves that at times “them folk” know more about our potential than we do. They know that if somebody as influential as Ice Cube starts a league with African Americans at the center it will become absolutely successful very quickly!
The realest thing Cube said was "Make the most of your opportunities". Doing everything to the best of your abilities truly is what opens additional doors. I'm from the GUTTER (mom shot and killed dad, foster care, lived in cars, you name it). I only have a GED, and spent from 14-26 doing landscaping. I did it WELL. At 26, I got a job working for Crystal Springs water delivery company. 6yrs in, I won Route Sales Rep of the year for the entire company. The next year, I was promoted to management, and received 2 more promotions in the following 4yrs. Fast forward to today, and I'm the Chief Operating Officer for the firm I work for now (which came from a relationship I formed at Crystal Springs). I never dreamed that a forgotten foster kid would become a comfortable 6 figure earner with equity in the company I run. Hard work wins in the long run. We have power to forge our own paths 💯
Much respect to Ice Cube and the Big 3 organization. The NBA cannot afford your concept to be successful. However, they cannot stop your concept due to its being already sucessful and people know the players in the Big 3 program will do their part in ensuring its success. With venues inplace to advertise your program KEEP MOVING FORWARD. We will support whenever and wherever we can.
Everytime someone wants to be successful someme or something wants to see a negative in it smh... That's why when people say it's politics because they absolutely don't want anyone to enjoy themselves nor make Money? And if they aren't getting piece of the pie it's a damn problem. What a damn shame what this world is, it's no different from past decade but damn it, it's beyond old we can't be successful and have fun in America anymore

Ice Cube is a legend I didn't know he was young when he started 15 WOW I thought he was over 18 when he got with Dre and NWA. I agree with his comment "F your title" you are still human. Fear NO man!
Been following this pod for a while much ❤ Been through many moments in life . 45 years old my son got jumped by a gang of 8 that wanted his UFC cap and at 15 quite big for his age and standing out they gave him a beating 😢 A pivot moment for me was driving round with a baseball bat trying to find any of these kids and being thankful I never did 🙏🏽
Cube was the first one smart enough and brave enough to leave NWA. He knew they were not getting paid enough and he knew the value of his talent. Dre made a lot of money in his career but none of them were as successful as Cube. Respect.
14:17 I got my current job the same way. I was cleaning at Comp Cams warehouse, very well known camshaft company. The manager noticed I was always in a good mood, I came to work on time everyday, whatever they needed I was happy to take care of & one day he offered me a job. I’m Not a billionaire but the opportunity definitely put me in a better position.

Great episode. I love Cube and have since I was a little Mexican kid growing up in Cali. I always loved hip hop but when NWA/Cube came out he spoke about the things I saw in my neighborhood. Much love and respect to the Don Mega💪🏽
I can't explain how much knowledge about life I learnt from his music. Cube stay dropping jewels about the hood, money, people and life, and keeping your eyes open in these streets...
This was incredible to watch as they focused on the man as a whole and the many parts of ice cube the father, the rapper, the actor, the producer, the advocate, the business man etc.
The Big3 is so necessary, it’s the ultimate transition into retirement. So many benefits to this league, especially at a time when players are at the most challenging moments in their lives. Many players search to find themselves while figuring out what’s next. Mentally, emotionally, these guys can transition into a place they can thrive. Adam Silver should get onboard and support these efforts in some sort of capacity. Ice Cube is on to something
"You have to execute everyday! If you try to be as good as you can possibly be everyday, then the things you wanna do get done in an excellent way." -Cube

First time watching as a Day One Ice Cube fan. So proud of Mr. Oshea Jackson's work and life and growth as a grown man and responsible artist. I want to share with everyone!

Let's see how many ppl pay attn to the real topic. Well said.
💯
The NBA leadership absolutely sees them as competition. Their politicking against Cube is exhibit A.
It’s not competition to the NBA unless the NBA wanted to form a similar type league that they have full control of.
You are absolutely right, thanks for pointing that out and that's with almost everything when our people start to do something great
