Future Neighbor I hear Korea has a million different types of instant ramen, with all types of flavors that are exclusively in Korea .__. I’m from the US too. Could that be in the online convenient store?
Seems like the food companies are releasing (and testing) new flavors every season. I think they taste crazy flavors here and then export only the mega-hits abroad. But lot of the niche flavors are quite good ;) But yes! This one we got covered 👍Thanks Megan!
You are talking about 쌀엿 right? The syrup-y one. FYI: Korean will use either that or 올리고당 (Oligosaccharide Syrup), I will take a look into both! Thanks Rasana.
thank you for the gamjatang recipe! :) an online convenience store is an amazing idea and will surely be helpful for so many people worldwide! thank you for being so invested in the comments and questions from viewers. definitely one of the most wholesome youtube channels i've ever watched :) i'm very excited to see your list of restaurant recommendations in korea because it's my dream to go there!
Thanks Bananas! Yes, its part of our mission. To introduce Korean cuisine to every country in the world. I realized only a few major cities have easy access to Korean ingredients. We will change this 😆👍
By far the best Korean stew I’ve ever tried🤤 It’s so good that my mom, future mom and sister in law love it as well! They used to sell this at Bob&Joes in Hmart but they took it off since they said it was a bit complicated to make
I used an instant pot pressure cooked 30 min and it was really tender. Probably 25 min would be enough. I added japanese purple potato-pressure 1 min. Then reduces abs added cornstarch slurry to thicken. It WAs really good!
Super excited for your Seoul food tour guide!!!! And I'm so glad you made gamjatang! I remember requesting it on your website awhile back :D Keep up the amazing work!
Yes Olivia!! This bowl is dedicated to you. Yea, I'm working on the food tour guide. Hopefully, you can refer to it if you ever visit Seoul. That way, you can see where the local matjibs are!
I need me some chunjang for homemade jajangmyeon, I mean the instant ones are yum too (its addicting no joke) but I'd like to try and make it vegan. Deonjang is all that they got in the Korean mart near me. I'm from the Philippines BTW. I learned so much about Korean cuisine because of your channel! ✨ P.S. Katie pls drop that skin care routine bcos sis you are glowin 🌻🌟🌈
I tried this for the first time in a Korean restaurant when I visited Toronto and it was really good!!! Sure miss it a great deal! Little did I know it actually takes so much effort to cook this dish! Now I’m appreciating it even better! Thank you for this recipe and for posting this on my birthday! I think I should start practicing having this soup as a birthday soup in Singapore haha!
My mom used to make pork neck bones all the time when I was a child (we’re just a country family from MS) so know I the work that comes with cooking neck bones I just had to add different ingredients but it’s so good and sooooo worth it.
Most of the time I want to cook on of your recipes I don't have the vegetables to do it... but dude I don't know how do you feel about delivering Korean veg across the world😉 Korean snacks would be nice. Good luck for you and Katie. I will support you guys. How.about writing a book with your recipes? I would buy one for sure 😬
Hey Weronika! Yes on the Korean snacks! This one we have planned. But fresh vegetables is a no-go. Customs offices don't allow export of fresh vegetables. I think the cookbook will come in 2019 :) Thanks for the continued support and fun comments throughout the year!
Korean raddish is impossible to find, as well as other fresh vegetables! I have already read the comment section and I know that you can't send this internationally, but what about the seeds to grow your own (perilla and such as well)?? Greetings from Poland!
Hello Neighbor, I am from Canada. I am catching up with your past video. I like the idea of having a store available for us. I think it would be nice to have a lot of the spices, dry good(eve dry fish) and and your everyday sauces that you are using. Fresh produce is easy to find in Canada but the rest of it not too easy. Hope to see your store on line soon. Thanks for the great recipes and love to your family ! xx
Woow, these ideas are great- especially the food guide, if i ever manage to travel to Seoul, i will be so happy to eat... i love food. From an online store i would buy it all - but ramen- OMG that has been an obsession of mine for years now, and the ramen noodles here are usually not that great (i am from Bulgaria). Recipe today is also wonderful :) Good luck in all your endeavors.
You got it! Ramen, we got covered! They are always coming out with new flavors which they rarely export outside of Korea! Bulgaria will also be covered ;) Thanks for the suggestion Lubka!
Hello! I'm from Romania and I'm glad to hear the good news. We have here korean restaurant, but no korean market at all. I'd like everything, but most of all I'd like instant meals, such as ramen or tteokbokki, etc. Good luck in everything you do! Hope you'll deliver in Romania too. :)))
Canada: mild pepper flakes in smaller portions (only huge bags avail. here), the perilla powder (whole seeds avail. here but again, in huge bags). You may want to consider selling seeds for PLANTING perilla as well. I had a hard time finding those also b/c I want to grow it myself. Shishito peppers is another hard to find item - I wonder if the seeds are avail. to sell? Plum syrup is another hard to find item but omg it makes such a difference in Korean dishes. PS thanks for this video!
Looks so yummy! Have to try it. We have something very similar in romania. The exception is that our broth is sour, not spicy. I' often surprised at the similarities in cuisine between korea and romania. We also use quite a bit of garlic, most of our dishes are made with pork and we also have our version of fermented cabbage, which again is sour as opposed to the spicy kimchi. Wish you could try some proper romanian food to see if you guys would like it
I love the idea of the online convenience store! I live at least 50 miles from any Asian food stores, Korean, Chinese, Japanese any of them I would love to be able to buy the condiments and seasonings, I can find the raw materials for pretty much everything else locally, except a good tofu. Oh yeah, I'm in the USA Pacific NW, Olympic peninsula. I love your channel!!!
-Europe im pretty good with the korean grocery store im going to they have almost all the key ingredients for your recipes but some vegetables and cuts of meat are hard to find here. I would be really happy to have good quality kitchen products like these stone pots, ricecookers, chopsticks and a bigger selection of instant ramen (pls dont judge me daniel im trying to cook your recipes amap) and im really craving the stuff korean convenience stores have in korea much love kuma ❤️
Best wishes for your future venture, when i heard you also make a food travel guide, i think you graduated from "future neighbour", into "favorite neighbour". Though i don't imply in any way about the marketability of above items
I can't help but notice that parilla seed powder has much the same usage as sassafras here in the US; ground sassafras is traditionally used to flavor and (slightly) thicken traditional gumbo. ^.^
those bean sprouts are super hard to find where I am in america, I would love if you sold those, love the vids, I'm making a banchan for my family tomorrow and i'm super excited.
I cooked gamjatang today, I did most procedure according to the tutorial except 1. I used the ordinary soya sauce 2 I didn't put the cooking wine in 3. I used the ordinary chilli powder. 4. J, from Belize. We can't find the seasonings here. I'd suggest seeing if you can sell the seeds of veggies, like perilla etc. So you won't have to worry about selling vegetables themselves.
I'm from India! I think what I'd love to see is Gochujang, doenjang and gochugaru, because although I know you can find gochujang on Amazon, it's pretty expensive!
That Gamjatang looks sooooo good! An online convenience store! That's awesome. I'd like to have Korean Red pepper paste, red pepper flakes, soy bean paste, hotteoek mix, black/purple rice, seaweed,(the kind that's already ready and looks like squares that all you need is just rice) and soo much more! Maybe also Korean ramyun, and Korean snacks like Lotte's version of pocky. And Kenya. I know that's a really far place and difficult destination for shipping but honestly, if you have some good products, I'd buy.
Did you post anywhere that you have an online store or at least affiliate links to items you use? I can not find Royal Grafton England anywhere online. The pot you are using looks great. I want one or more lol. Make those links and make a few bucks. I would be happy buying through your links.
친구 야 ...thanks for the flower for all of us! 😄 Beautiful presentation! That pork is so tender... it looks mouth melting! And that broth... 😋 perfect for a rainy day. I will look for the ground perrilla seeds and leaves. I haven't experience the perilla taste yet. An Online Store!?!?! That's great you guys!!! 잘 했어!! I'll be thinking of things I have not been able to find in the Bay Area, CA.
Evelyn Gibson I think there is a large Korean population in Oakland. (Don't live there, just visited and noticed a lot of buildings with Hangul.) Maybe you can find a Korean mart just outside the city? I'd be shocked if there wasn't one.
Chelsea Graham Thanks, you are right! There is a fairly big korean population and I do visit the Koreana Plaza Market often in Oakland, which is actually the only Korean Market around, still there are products I have not been able to find there.
Hi Evelyn! Our 인터넷 친구!! Yes, if you live in the Bay, it will be hard to beat prices.. Since we have to ship from abroad. But if you see some niche things, feel free to let us know 🧐고마워용!
Heyyyy! I hope you will be shipping to Israel as well.. I really want to make tteokbokki but there is no tteok here :( there are so many other things I want to try but can't. 🙏🏽🙏🏽😍
Hey Breathe! Thanks for the suggestions. I think this one is hard! I can't send fresh (perishable) items through international parcel. I couldn't imagine the faces on custom upon finding bottles of seujot haha 🙃
Great video as always, Danyul and Katie! Gamjatang is one of my all-time favourites. Do you have any suggestions for gamjatang in Seoul? I'm only here for a couple more weeks! (I realised you mentioned a list in this video being uploaded soon) Thanks again for the content :))
Cayman Islands here -- literally anything would be amazing, but especially Gochugaru because I can't find it anywhere where I live. There are a few small Asian stores here (they mostly stock Chinese, Phillippine or Thai products though). It's really hard to find Korean products without having to order them online for me.
Hi, Just about every seasonings is not available in my country, Belize. Instead of sending the vegetables, perhaps you can sell the seeds, so that they can be planted in the countries.
I love korean food and to cook it... But in my country there are korean restaurants 6 hr away from my city 😞 In my city they barely opened korean bbq only... I want to cook more k-food but there's no k-market or k-town in my country or city at least... Will you guys be sending things from the online store to latin america (Honduras specifically)?
I tutored a beautiful Korean mother and she was always feeding me. She made these amazing side dishes. The one I cant find is a super teeny dries fish like an anchovy I guess. It was smothered in a sweet honey like sauce. Ih they were so good. I can't find the fish anywhere.
US here - I would love perilla seeds so I can grow my own leaves. I have a lovely asian market near me that has things like korean radish, but I can't ever find fresh perilla leaves.
Great video as always! I think it'd be great if you could stock a few different gochujang and doenjang options! I have celiac disease and I can't seem to find a doenjang without wheat flour in it and it's really holding back my Korean cooking 😭
I like Korean makeup. I live in Southern California. So basically I think any small gadget would be good. As for food, I can find common Korean stuff here.
Is there anything we can substitute perilla seed powder for that is similar in taste? I've never tasted this powder before but I read online that it's nutty and has a star anise flavor - can we use a star anise infusion or sesame seeds instead?
I want earthenware bowls for my stove to cook in not necessarily Stone bowls but the Black earthenware wear bowls. Mild gochugaru which is available on Amazon but is it expensive as all get-out. Dried mu strips. Yuzu tea in the jar. Soup soy sauce. Medium age d o e n j a n g mid-sized container. I would also love to see some Korean treats and the rice that you always use glutinous sweet rice.
Please do sell the spicy noodles. I love those. We get them here in India but it’s really expensive, 180/packet. It’s even more expensive online. Also we don’t know if they’re really from Korea as there are some “Korean” products from China .
Can we use the same soup recipe but switch to beef short ribs like in the video of the non spicy version of this soup? Less boiling time and easier to find beef short rib
Would love a good quality sang hwang tea and the the mushroom itself. Would also love all kinds of high quality/yummy tasting other kinds of Korean tea. I’ve been to a number of Korean restaurants here in the US and their corn tea does not taste the same compare to the one I got from the Korean market here. The one from the restaurants are always better. maybe it wasn’t even corn tea that I have at the restaurants hahahhaha.
If its hard to find that pork cut, you can also use baby back pork ribs! Enjoy yall 😃
Future Neighbor I hear Korea has a million different types of instant ramen, with all types of flavors that are exclusively in Korea .__. I’m from the US too. Could that be in the online convenient store?
Future Neighbor I'm from California and I have difficulty finding brown rice syrup. Is there a way you can sell those in your store?
Seems like the food companies are releasing (and testing) new flavors every season. I think they taste crazy flavors here and then export only the mega-hits abroad. But lot of the niche flavors are quite good ;) But yes! This one we got covered 👍Thanks Megan!
You are talking about 쌀엿 right? The syrup-y one. FYI: Korean will use either that or 올리고당 (Oligosaccharide Syrup), I will take a look into both! Thanks Rasana.
Thanks KW! Yuja - will take a look into this one as well!
Dan-Yul describing gamjatang is fans describing this channel.
ㅎㅎㅎ Thanks Shauny!! Get hypeeed! 🙂🙃

Turnip greens or beet tops can also be a good substitute for the radish tops.
I can't wait for your store, your videos are very entertaining

Of course Poland is here! I’m so happy you're opening a store ♥️🇵🇱👩🏻🍳
Hehe! We got Poland covered :)
Can Korean clay soup bowls be used on electric glass top stoves? Not induction
Hey! Maybe also add some kitchenware to your store? Like korean stainless steel rice bowls, chopsticks, earthenware pots? :)
Good idea Mew ☝️Thank you. I will look into some local brands. Good quality - of course 😘
I was thinking that too but I didnt want to request too much stuff since I already suggested other things hehehe.
So happy to watch this video 😊 I had a pretty rough day today and this definitely brought my mood up. Hope I dream of pork bone soup tonight!
Oh no! Well, we send some energy to you from Seoul! 💥💫 Hope you get a good nights rest and wake up re-energized! 화이팅!

Thanks so much for this recipe. I fell in love with this the first time it was introduced to me. 2 thumbs up for you!!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤

Hi Daniel! That's what I thought haha cannot find korean veges anywhere 😑 I'm excited for the snacks 😬😬😬🙏🙏🙏
weronika jasinska yess please make a book!
I'm always worried the channel and the blog will disappear from yt and all the recipes will be gone 😥 that would be worst day ever.
Korean raddish is impossible to find, as well as other fresh vegetables! I have already read the comment section and I know that you can't send this internationally, but what about the seeds to grow your own (perilla and such as well)?? Greetings from Poland!
Yes!! The kitchenware items please from the stone bowls to utensils and also the Korean paste and powders!! Also some Korean snacks if possible?
Yes!! We will cover those. Good idea on the kitchenware. Will take a look into few high-quality brands!

Vancouver, BC Canada. Love your content and all the recipes. Thank you!
i love to make black eyed peas, and soup with pork neck bones. Yummy!

Gamjatang was the first Korean dish I made when I first started out making Korean food. It's still one of my favourite Korean dishes.

I can hear you drooling as you talk about it. It looks absolutely delicious. I wish there was smell-o-vision just to get a wiff of that stew!
Love seeing where your channel is heading, Looks like great things are on the way! Much love from CANADA!!
Thanks Kira! Appreciate the support ✌️
Making this for my Korean husband tonight as a surprise! Hope it comes out well haha
@Shane L
So? How did it come out? Did he love it?
im so excited for all you guys have in store !!!

You have a great channel. Thank you for being helpful. Korean cuisine always intimidated me lol.
Why do you not have more subscribers??? I loooovvvveeee this channel!
Hahah - good question! Well, I am quite happy with how much we have already. Its been a crazy ride since we passed 100 subs!
I love the idea of the online convenience store! Best wishes for your future venture, when i heard you also make a food travel guide, i think you graduated from "future neighbour", into "favorite neighbour".
Here in Jakarta - Indonesia, Korean ingredients that are not commonly available are:
Chunjang (very hard)
Dashima
Saeujeot
That perilla seed powder (or whole seed)
Dulgireum
Myeolchi
Gosari
Acorn jelly
I can find some of them on online marketplace, or korean grocery but stock may vary.
More SOUPS please, I love Korean soups Thank You
I'm so hungry 😭
Great news about the online store and the food guide !!! Can't wait to see everything up and running
Thanks Herring! Yes, we are excited to get it operational. Gonna deliver K-food to every inch of the globe. Woohoo!
PLEASE MAKE THIS STORE SOON! I CAN'T WAIT!
I cooked gamjatang today, I did most procedure according to the tutorial except 1. I used the ordinary soya sauce 2 I didn't put the cooking wine in 3. I used the ordinary chilli powder. 4. I bought the periila seeds instead of perilla seeds powder and feel is hard to grind it well.
Which above steps lead to the fact the soup doesn't taste like the authentic Korean version? Any thoughts and suggestions?
what great news about an online market! I can't wait!
I'm trying to cook tomorrow
I love this channel. Do you have some merchandise?
so exciting for the convenience store. Definitely will buy something from there
J, from Belize. We can't find the seasonings here. I'd suggest seeing if you can sell the seeds of veggies, like perilla etc. So you won't have to worry about selling vegetables themselves.
This is my fiance's favourite Korean dish! I can finally make it for him once we get married! 😆
Have you made a video for donkatsu? 😉
I'm from India! I think what I'd love to see is Gochujang, doenjang and gochugaru, because although I know you can find gochujang on Amazon, it's pretty expensive!
Same here!!! A big fan of korean food ^_^
If you could sell those anchovy/kelp tea bag things, that'd be great.
Yes to this! 👍 Thank you for the suggestion yoyo highness 👸
Yessssss!!
yoyohaness what’s that?
Check out Future Neighbor's "Basics: How to make Korean Stock Soup" video. It's the last version Daniel shows.
They have a website now (gochujar) and they sell that on it.
I've been trying to find the 치즈 떡 like you can get at 유가네 restaurants. I'm from USA
Hey Ciiku! Thank you for the suggestions. Yes on all of those. P.s. I made sure to include African continent for shipping. We WILL ship there ;)
DANIEL!!!!! THATS GOING TO BE AWESOME TO START UR STORE! IM SO PUMPED ! Also the food looks amazing per the usual!
Hehe thanks Rika!! Appreciate your support - so many good comments from you throughout the year. Love it!
Daniel, yummmmmm !!! I'm Cambodian and I live in ohio. I'm definitely going to support yall's online site. Can't wait !!!!!
Shaun! Thanks bro. I didn't know you were living in Ohio! You are studying there? Or grew up there?
Wow, good job on the bowl! Very nice!
Yessssssss delicious!
Soooo delicious
Oooo.... Soooo good.. 😋😋😋
Did you post anywhere that you have an online store or at least affiliate links to items you use? I can not find Royal Grafton England anywhere online. The pot you are using looks great. I want one or more lol. Make those links and make a few bucks. I would be happy buying through your links.

I'm from NYC in the USA!
Heyyyy! I hope you will be shipping to Israel as well.. I really want to make tteokbokki but there is no tteok here :( there are so many other things I want to try but can't. 🙏🏽🙏🏽😍
wow it's so yummy😋
Neck/spine bones aren’t available in my local meat shop. What is the best alternative cut?
It's so appetizing!
Seujot has been very hard for me to find in Canada. That would be great to have in your store. I use it to make kimchi
Hey Breathe! Thanks for the suggestions. I think this one is hard! I can't send fresh (perishable) items through international parcel. I couldn't imagine the faces on custom upon finding bottles of seujot haha 🙃
Delicious 😋
That looks amazing!!
My feelings exactly ...”yes,finally!”
Omg it's so late, but this is making me hungry!!!
Great video as always, Danyul and Katie! Gamjatang is one of my all-time favourites. Do you have any suggestions for gamjatang in Seoul? I'm only here for a couple more weeks! (I realised you mentioned a list in this video being uploaded soon)
Thanks again for the content :))
Cayman Islands here -- literally anything would be amazing, but especially Gochugaru because I can't find it anywhere where I live. There are a few small Asian stores here (they mostly stock Chinese, Phillippine or Thai products though). It's really hard to find Korean products without having to order them online for me.
You got it Clarke! Cayman Islands we will cover!!
Hi, Just about every seasonings is not available in my country, Belize. Instead of sending the vegetables, perhaps you can sell the seeds, so that they can be planted in the countries.
I really love cooking now and this time my menu is gamjatang. Please help me write the ingridients for my reference in buying at korean mart. Thanks.
The online store would be great! The Korena chili flakes are hard to find in Finland so those would be great.
I love korean food and to cook it... But in my country there are korean restaurants 6 hr away from my city 😞 In my city they barely opened korean bbq only... A rose for me!! ❤️
🌹Bok Choy Rose for you Marbles ㅎㅎㅎ
Hi, in my country perilla seed powder is not easy to find... can I substitute it?
American here. If you could sell Korean snacks (including ramyun), that would be cool. :)
I think the online store is a great idea! I literally have none of that in the United States, or I'm just stupid and not looking hard enough.
great idea to have online supermarket
Yummy 😋
US here - I would love perilla seeds so I can grow my own leaves. I have a lovely asian market near me that has things like korean radish, but I can't ever find fresh perilla leaves.
Ahh seeds will be tough. Those are restricted for international shipping :( What state do you leave in by the way?
Omg! I would totally buy from you if you delivered to the UK~~
Thanks Lilly! Of couse, UK will be covered 🙃🙂
This made me so hungry!!
Great video as always! I think it'd be great if you could stock a few different gochujang and doenjang options! I have celiac disease and I can't seem to find a doenjang without wheat flour in it and it's really holding back my Korean cooking 😭
Got it! I'll take a look and see if there are any without wheat flour. 👍Thanks for the comment Sunny.
I like Korean makeup. I live in Southern California. So basically I think any small gadget would be good. As for food, I can find common Korean stuff here.
Hi can I make it and freeze in potion then reheat after? Thank you very much
Is there anything we can substitute perilla seed powder for that is similar in taste? I've never tasted this powder before but I read online that it's nutty and has a star anise flavor - can we use a star anise infusion or sesame seeds instead?
Can you guys do a recipe for yukaejang?
Did you set up your store? I have a recipe for honey cookies and it says to use a mold. Is there such thing?
Hi
Can give the link where you posted the difference between soup soya sauce and regular soya sauce
The one from the restaurants are always better. maybe it wasn’t even corn tea that I have at the restaurants hahahhaha.
what if no perilla leaves and seeds? what substitute can u suggest?
