- A Full Visual of Route 61. Route 61: Chislehurst - Bromley North operated by Stagecoach.
Route History
Route 61 began on 3rd October 1934 operating between Eltham Station and Orpington operated by London Transport from Sidcup Garage and Bromley Garage from 1944 until 1986. In the past this route has run as far as Lewisham and Green Street Green.
On 16th December 1986 Route 61 was awarded to Metrobus running from Bromley North - Chislehurst.
On 12th December 1995 Route 61 was awarded to First Opington.
On 12th December 2006 Route 61 was awarded to Selkent (East London Bus Group) from Bromley Garage with new double deckers where it has been operated ever since. ELBG was later acquired by Stagecoach in 2011 (the former owner of ELBG from selling it to Maquarie Bank in 2006 bringing East London & Selkent fleet names).
The 61 was on a long term diversion from 30.03.2009-01.12.2012 due to a weak bridge on Orpington Road which took a while to get fixed. The date this is due to become live is 13th March 2021, 10 Years since the date I last released a full visual of this route. Try to spot some differences between the two videos if you can.
