    Great video!! I’ve taught with Spencer’s mom since before he was born, and a year ago she posted a link to Spencer’s event on her Facebook page. Out of courtesy I watched a race, and I was hooked! I had no idea that he raced in his “free time”, and I sure had no idea that the RC racing world was so big! I sure enjoy watching this fine young man race, even if I don’t understand all the ins and outs. Thanks for all the great information and keep up the good work!

    2nd.....lol! My son, Jonathan and I were in the stands for this. He asked me you were doing. I explained to him that, some times, in you race vlogs, you give a microphone to a driver, to get an in depth view of what a driver goes through in a race. He was quite interested in this.

    The captions are definitely a nice addition especially when you don’t wanna cut the background audio it’s a simple and informative for anyone new to the hobby or that just hasn’t been to a big race like this to understand what’s going on.
    We need to get you out to some 1/10 scale electric stuff I think 1/8 scale is probably a little pricey and intimidating for a beginner but the content is on point 👍🏽
    Definitely don’t underestimate the importance of a good pit person I know for me personally It’s the major hurdle keeping me away from On-Road Nitro majority of my RC friends are electric guys and no nothing about nitro and aren’t interested in learning. It sucks asking random people “can you pit for me” it doesn’t always work out usually anyone willing to help still has to prioritize the person they were there to pit for originally or their own car. I used to have a friend he ran 1/8 open I ran 1/10 Nitro Sedan we would pit for each other since we were guaranteed to be in different heats and both knew what we were doing it worked out perfectly. Unfortunately that was years ago and he’s since passed

    Back in early 2000 my son and I use to race and quad ride with Ryan Maifield, he was sponsored at the time and a really good driver that use to win pretty often at the local tracks. A few years backs I thought Id google his name and saw he kept with it after 20yrs, he travels all around the world and even had Ryan Maifield Edition Yokomo buggy named after him

    That video was really good! I would love to learn to how to control my car better while in the air. I haven't figured that out and haven't found any videos that really talk about it.

    • @jackdurden466
      @jackdurden466 3 роки тому

      I’m not so sure you can actually control it in the air, you can control how it enters airspace and once it comes down, what to do, but from what I’ve seen it’s only as fast as you hit the jump, and how fast and at what precise angle will ultimately determine how the car acts while airborne. I’m not a racer, by any means, but I used to race BMX, and some of the race principles are the same in all types of off road racing. I’d say to focus more on your approach to the jump, how and where you want to land, and make that your precision move.

    • @onthestandrc6404
      @onthestandrc6404 3 роки тому

      You can control your car in the air, it takes practice and timing. Example, hitting the brakes in the air will bring the nose down and Gas will bring the nose up. Having your wheels turned and using the throttle and the brake will shift the car in the air. Practice and have fun, soon you will be doing sick whips.

    there is a huge misconception to being a pro driver. I have been into the rc hobby since the late 80's and have seen tons of pro drivers expire in the industry landing themselves in a position where they are like " what now"
    Imagine spending your twenties as a pro driver and learn no engineering, no business, nothing. what do you do afterwards.
    ask the pros from the past, what are they doing now in the industry..... i"ll wait
    few top guys are in the industry as a manufacturer after getting a college degree
    I don't want to be wrong in saying to not chase your dreams, but come on
    once you go pro, it is only for the money. No driver has a personal position with the company. they are not in sales, engineering, marketing, social media marketing, zero
    the industry has limited capital to pay drivers and a limited overall global sales as well
    teach the youth behind the scenes while being a pro driver and help them with their future, not just "at the moment"
