I’ve seen plenty of tutorials on how to edit on Lightroom, but yours has the BEST explanations! You simplified it in a way that’s super easy to understand 😀 Also I regret not getting subway tile...I gotta get me more Replica Surfaces!
Jeanelle, this is so awesome to hear! I really tried to explain things as clearly as possible, so I'm super happy that I made that happen for you. And no problem - Subway Tile isn't going anywhere. It'll be here if/when you want to grow your collection!
Replica Surfaces thanks im looking forward to more of your videos! I’m definitely growing my collection...there’s no doubt about it 😂 I love my surfaces!
I learned so much from this video and I was familiar with a lot of these tools in lightroom but didn't quite understand what they really did. Thank you so much!
I love that buying a replica surface is so much more than a purchase. These videos, the community, all the tips makes it exactly what everyone needs to take their pictures to the next level!
Jennifer! This comment absolutely made my day because that's exactly what I'm going for. A great backdrop will get you far, but you really need the know-how and community to take your photos the rest of the way. I can't thank you enough for being a part of everything
Wow! The Dehaze and Saturation color tips (saturation for removing blue on white) are killer tips! Dehaze works something like the Contrast slider, and can sometimes give you unwanted grain, as will the Contrast slider, but the subtle changes work wonders while keeping a good balance, if done correctly. Biggest tip not touched on in depth, IMHO: having a discerning eye and not overcorrecting unless that's the look you're going for. Awesome video!
Lightroom is an incredible resource for making good photos great! Using Replica Surfaces is like using Lightroom; it makes the end product better without faking anything. It's simply taking what you've done and defining its finest points. Perfect combination, Replica Surfaces and Lightroom! Thanks for doing this giveaway!👍😃
Thank you so much, that's a really high compliment! I try to break everything down to the basics so you can hit the ground running with your photos. Are there any topics you'd like to see in future videos?
Wow! I had no idea I could change targeted colors in LR. I always used snapseed for selective color changes and I still am limited to just saturation. This will be life changing. Thank you Mandy!
I'm switching over to Lightroom and Photoshop soon and your tutorial is the perfect start to making changes. And that option to lighten certain areas under color is what I needed for an interiors shot I did yesterday. Thanks!! So glad I have incorporated so many of your surfaces to my shoots. YAY!
SUCH good timing then! I'm glad the color selector tip will help with yesterday's shoot AND that your Surfaces have been a part of your shoots. Thanks for all of your support, Alison
This is great! I'm currently taking a Lightroom class (six weeks!) but we haven't gotten past the organizational tools yet. This was a very efficient quick tutorial.
Hahaha I'm really glad you enjoyed the efficiency of this video - I wanted to make something that wasn't comprehensive but would give you the quick and dirty basics to get started right away. I'm sure the course will be hugely useful for understanding the whole program, though. Especially because the organizational tools are at least one video in and of themselves!
@@replicasurfaces Oh yes! I don't regret the class. It's been really good and comprehensive. But seeing this gives me a nice preview of coming attractions.
@@jackelynjohnson8155 It's not really public. I took a DSLR class from a local photographer last summer in person and she offered a virtual Lightroom class to the graduates of her program. We've gotten bogged down in various folks' computer issues on several occasions, making for an occasional semi-painful experience.
Thank you thank you thank you! Very informative, I’m about to edit product photos and will definitely be implementing more of the options for those photos that weren’t taken in the best lighting. Thank you!
This is such an amazing tutorial! I had no idea that you could select an object and Lightroom will tell you what colors it thinks is in it! This is such an amazing tip!!!
Isn't that a great one? I think it's especially useful when dealing with blues and pinks because I'm terrible at guessing whether Lightroom thinks the object is blue, aqua, purple, magenta, red, etc
Awesome video! I'm a pastry chef and also a culinary arts teacher at a high school. These tips will help me takenpotos of my creations and teach my students to take better photos!

I'm so glad to hear it, Gabby. Dehaze IS pretty great, let me know what you think of it. Jenson is a 2 year old cavachon (half Cavalier King Charles Spanial, half Bichon Frise) who missed his grooming sessions due to COVID! Hence, the mini-sheepdog look. What can I say, we're all a little hairy right now!
This was great! I'm used to shooting film and have been playing around much more with LR lately. I'd love to see a video about WHITE BALANCE :). I usually try to get in right in camera, but any tips are welcome!
Hey! Great question, when you open a photo to edit, under the "Color" section of the main editing menu, there is a button that says "mix" in the top right of the menu that pops up. Tap that and it will bring up another menu that will allow you to manipulate each individual color like we do in the video!
@@replicasurfaces Thx for responding! Hmmm. In Mobile, in the "Color" section, when you tap "Mix" on the right and then tap a color (I chose Orange), there aren't any sliders to bring down the color to zero. The only sliders there are "Hue", "Saturation", and "Luminance". Nothing is there to turn a color all the way down or to turn it off. The only other button there is "Done".
@@gloryb-tv The sliders under each color are how you adjust each of the individual colors in your photos. Hue will adjust the actual color, so aqua can be more green or blue depending on which way you move the slider. Saturation is the amount of the color, so if you slide it all the way to the left on blue, you will eliminate all of the blue tones in your photo, if you slide to the right, you will over-saturate or increase the amount of blue. Luminance is the amount of white or black in the color, affecting the tonality of the color. Color adjustment can be very tricky.
@@replicasurfaces I wanted to bring the brown color (or orange, probably) all the way down to zero, as you show in the video at 10:08. Okay, I see it now. Thank you! It's the Saturation for that color that I need to bring all the way down to zero. Now I see the tiny word "Saturation" at 10:08 shown there. My eyes are older than the rest of me. At first I saw "Saturation" above the Color Mixer box and didn't realize they're actually "in" Saturation there. #software #tinyfonts Thank you so much! I just received my 3rd and 4th surfaces. Can't wait to try them out! I'm mostly a UA-camr but doing more in IG and the surfaces help a lot!
Thank you soo much for this amazing video! It really helped me a lot to understand lightroom better. As a total beginner I struggle a lot with the software to make my photo's better and professional. I'm really wondering how I can make sure that every picture in a series of photo's has the same look and feel?
We're so glad you enjoyed the video! To make your photos look more consistent, you can copy and paste your edit settings in Lightroom and apply it to other photos, or you can create a preset!
I'm mad I did not know there was an option to target spots under color. This whole time I been using it on the whole picture. Do you save your setting under presets for future use?
Well now you know! I'm so glad I could help with that. I do save my settings as presets, but I think of them as starting points for future photos rather than something to apply and be done. When applying any preset (my own or someone else's) I always make tweaks to new photos because of how lighting and camera settings change from photo to photo.

Great video, thank you. I couldn't find color wheel on mobile.
Another great video, Mandy! Thank you! 🧡
Thank YOU so much for watching, Deborah! 🥰
Thanks for making this video 😍
Absolutely! I hope you got a few helpful tips from it
I love using lightroom and lightroom mobile!
They're SUCH useful programs! Thanks for watching, Kareem
Great video ! Thank you so much ! 💕
Thanks for watching! I've got more videos on the way soon
This was very helpful! I will have to play around with the dehaze option. On another note, what kind of pup is Jenson? He's adorable!
Thank you, very helpful!
You're welcome Tania! Thanks so much for watching :)
This was great! I'm used to shooting film and have been playing around much more with LR lately. I'd love to see a video about WHITE BALANCE :). I usually try to get in right in camera, but any tips are welcome!
This was awesome and so helpful
Thanks for this ☺️
My pleasure 😊
How do I take a color all the way down on MOBILE? This was covered from 9:45 to 10:11, but only shown on desktop. Thanks!
@@gloryb-tv Are you trying to adjust one color or the overall color?
Honestly Really great video! and Tips . Thank You!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate you watching and am really happy you enjoyed the video! Any topics you'd like to see in future videos?
Love this!
Love YOU Cassidy! Thanks so much for watching
oh wow - this is great! THANKS!!
Good review!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you soo much for this amazing video! It really helped me a lot to understand lightroom better. As a total beginner I struggle a lot with the software to make my photo's better and professional.
I'm really wondering how I can make sure that every picture in a series of photo's has the same look and feel?
We're so glad you enjoyed the video! To make your photos look more consistent, you can copy and paste your edit settings in Lightroom and apply it to other photos, or you can create a preset!
jensen is the cutest
Thank you!
i love u
thank u sooooooooooooooooo musch
Thank you Wonderful!!
Thanks! I love you
Tnx alot❤
I'm mad I did not know there was an option to target spots under color. This whole time I been using it on the whole picture. Do you save your setting under presets for future use?
Well now you know! I'm so glad I could help with that. I do save my settings as presets, but I think of them as starting points for future photos rather than something to apply and be done. When applying any preset (my own or someone else's) I always make tweaks to new photos because of how lighting and camera settings change from photo to photo.
