- A combination of environmental and genetic factors cause obesity, yet society blames the individual for being greedy and lazy. Fat shaming and the pressure to be thin is everywhere, causing a whole host of mental health issues. In this episode we take the blame away from the individual, and look at how anxiety, eating disorders, and depression are interwoven with weight.

I feel better after watching this and I’m amazed by the strength these women have to publicly speak about their feelings. I wish all of them all the best 😍
if only men would do the same
This is such a complex issue. It's much more than just food.
I wish men would just stop their objectification of women.
Very interesting video. It's bizarrely comforting to hear these ladies state some of the hateful things I say to myself daily. I'm currently at a point where I have no confidence to even attend an exercise class. I hope these ladies continue to build confidence and enjoy life.
Hello! Are you based in New Zealand?
Kate Sierra No, the UK
@@crazydee2704 ah I'm a body positive fitness trainer, if you were in NZ I would have loved to do a session with you! I hope you find a space that you feel safe in! If not, I hope you find some movement that brings you joy- eg roller blading, swinging on a swing, swimming etc.
Kate Sierra Thank you. Have huge confidence issues right now which is blocking me doing anything. Thanks for the well wishes.
Thank you so much for this wonderful, heartwarming and understanding documentary. ❤️
These girls are fucking pretty. Sometimes I'm glad that I only see the beauty instead of having negative nasty thoughts to judge people. If you dont have nice things to say, just stop yourself and think whether you want other people to say it to you like that. It is a waste of your energy and brain cells to think of shitty things about people that you dont even know. Have a nice day everyone.
It's strange, I have felt better within myself in terms of confidence since gaining weight. People don't comment on my body anymore which has left me less self conscious, wheras at a healthy weight I would get comments about being skinny, my long legs, etc (which i know are compliments!!) and it would make me feel so uncomfortable.
So moving and inspiring ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great ep! Is there any way to get in contact with some of the people in this episode??
How terribly sad that we're so afraid of fatness we offer dangerous surgery with potentially horrific side effects (nutrient deficiency, hair loss, hypoglycaemia, even DEATH) rather than encouraging health behaviours such as doing movement we enjoy, intutive eating, taking care of our mental health etc regardless of weight loss. Weight loss does not equal healthy.
Yo, my girl meg! ❤️
Yaas, love ya Meg. So inspiring! @guyandmeganonair xx
This women are beautiful!!
Wait! what are you saying here, that weight gain is not caused by consuming too many calories?
Calories in, calories out is absolutely true. Keep a calorie diary and don't go over allowed calories to lose weight and you will lose weight.
Some people just have increased appetite because of an enlarged stomach coupled with emotional eating. To lose weight you will have to feel hungry until the stomach shrinks. Within weeks your appetite will decrease and your energy and ability to move will increase.
it is not that simple tho, the mental health stuff behind the food is what is causing the manifestation of weight - high or low.
