Bartolini b-Axis

Demo of the Bartolini b-Axis Jazz pickups.
The b-Axis series feature a new and unique fully encapsulated Alnico V exposed pole design, and yet they are still fully shielded like all our enclosed pickups. The cable is shielded as well. b-axis Jazz bass pickups are dual-inline hum-cancelling design for use in professional venues and studios. They are sweat-proof and won’t make nasty noises if you touch them.
b-axis pickups are super punchy and bright, but also warm. They have outstanding articulation, attack, and harmonic response. Musicians who play jazz, rock, country, gospel, and hip-hop are already finding their voice in b-axis pickups.

Got this pickup in a Bassmod fh1960 bass. sounds great in both active and passive mode. Got enough volume in passive mode to get you through a gig

Will this Preamp fit in a Squier Classic Vibe P-bass. I bought one to use for a pickup upgrade project and would like to make it active. i understand that I would need to drill more holes in the pick guard but wonder if the preamp will fit in the pre-routed space or will i need to make it larger?

Hard to say for sure. There is a lot of variation in how P-bass cavities are routed - even in particular models. When the electronics cavity is routed long enough towards the neck, the preamp can often fit in the pocket very nicely, and the battery can fit down by the jack unless you are using stack pots. But sometimes, there is just a thin route from the pickups to the electronics cavity, and that will require routing. But P-Basses are very nice to have a big area covered by the pickguard, so there is plenty of routing space available. My preference is always to install a battery box on the back also, but I am a geek like that. I hope this helps.
