That the judge wants the closing summations be uninterrupted with days off or holidays is an excellent decision - particularly for the jurists - who will have all of the information they need over consecutive days instead of hearing summations in bits and pieces. Very prudent and wise decision by Judge Merchan.

Not all. Most of them aren't familiar with the legal concepts of the charges. The judge is opposed to having an expert there to explain it to the jury.

Judge should have recused himself for conflicts of interest or should have dismissed case for lack of evidence. All this stormy nonsense had no probative value. She should never have been allowed to ramble on and on, prejudiced the jury. So many things wrong with this sham of a case, and the judge allowed it.

Now, it's Trump's turn for jail time. This case is about election interference/business fraud. Trump's lawyers never objected to the questions and they got into things on their cross examination that were worse then anything the prosecutors asked. They were trying to rattle Stormy, but she held her own.

Exhibit 35 where Trump CFO, Allen Weisselberg, explicitly scribbled the financial scheme in margin is important. Plus Trump's own words under oath from CA civil suit he filed against Stephanie Clifford acknowledging intent of hush $$$ payment entered into evidence in NY case.
Without a paid expert the defense has nothing to affirmatively put into evidence.

The jury, like most, aren't familiarized with the concepts of how these systems are supposed to work. It is strange that the judge would be opposed to having an expert there to explain it.

The jury is supposed to come to their own conclusions. They're not supposed to be told what to think. It's the job of the prosecution to prove their case and the defense is there to poke holes in the story and sow reasonable doubt

If the defendant testifying makes it more clear to the jury what the truth most likely is - beyond a reasonable doubt - then I think the defendant should testify. And since its all about "reasonable doubt," I think its appropriate for a jury to assume that a defendant's decision NOT to testify is a "reasonable" indication that he has something to hide. Which makes it "reasonable" to infer that he's probably guilty. I mean, this is not a case where some poor guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now he's being railroaded and doesn't have the resources to defend himself adequately.
