It really has more to do with the dog's temperament than the groomer, tbh. If the dog doesn't like or want to be groomed, no level of calm and caring will get that dog this relaxed. I've seen groomers this gentle and kind get bit for their troubles on more than one occasion by dogs that are too aggressive in the salon. Biggest takeaway, if you know your dog doesn't like the grooming salon, get a mobile groomer or learn how to do it on your own, that way your dog will be much more comfortable and happy!

Yeah hun, being a groomer is stressful as hell. A dog this calm is rare as fuck. Like, I'm not saying you shouldn't be a groomer if that's what you want, like absolutely live your dreams! But I just want to warn you ahead of time that this video is very much NOT the norm. I have scars all over my arms and chest from dogs biting and scratching me, I have had dogs actively pee on me while I clip their nails, I've nearly had my nose bit off (before I even got the chance to take the dog behind the counter!?!?!?), I've had poo sprayed *in my face* , my manager had her finger bit clean through while she was trying to take a sick dog to the vet, owners are huge entitled jerks who will yell at you over the slightest issue, i once had a German shepherd try to use my back a a springboard for escape--he kicked me *hard* repeatedly until my back was covered in bruises and I had to call out of work the next day because it was so sore, and work can get so busy sometimes that I will stand and cry while I'm working because I cannot stop myself from the sheer stress. That being said, I still LOVE my job and there is nothing in this world more rewarding to me than checking in a matted, dirty dog, and sending her home clean, detangled, sweet-smelling and happy. I will endure any bite, scratch, kick, or varied ablutions to help a scared animal feel better. It's an amazing job and I love every dog that walks through my salon door and I treat every one of them as gently and kindly as possible, but I just want you to know the reality of the job and what you'll be getting yourself into. It's not all sunshine and sweet puppies taking naps, it's very difficult and very stressful and not at all for the faint of heart. You've gotta have an iron will. You've gotta be able to reach the point where you can look a dog in the eye and think "bite me, I dont care". Obviously this doesnt happen overnight, it took me a few months to get there, but the point remains that if you don't know if you can handle high stress levels and have an ability to work under pressure, grooming may not be for you.
I'm always asleep after a hair washing in salon LOL. A cut? Yes, I sleep as sitting in a chair. Just tell me when finish, I was the same as this teddy bear. LOL
