I have the 200 bhp and it doesn't disappoint. You won't get a better looking car for the price, people are surprised how much you can get a good one for, what also was the appeal for me was that you won't see many on the road unlike the Audi TT.
@@fredrikkarlsson4784 The THP engines need to be driven a certain kind of way and are not for short distances, it prefers highways and b roads with high rpms from time to time
Great Review. I bought the Diesel because I wanted 2 litres albeit only 163 BHP. Yes, the torque was good enough , but lacked sufficient sparkle. I then had the car mapped revealing 200 BHP. Now there is plenty of sparkle climbing from 40 thru 90 mph making the car really enjoyable. I recommend to everyone, but the downside is that you need to declare to your insurance Co. and yes - it will cost more. Your review captures the car completely - It is fun and 400% more practical in terms of boot space when compared to other sports cars. Its a Smile and it turns my head ...
considering doing the same - who tuned, who insures (what % increase) - any increase in smoke, mpg? Having ridden in a 200Gt I found the ride ludicrously crashy thru potholes (19" wheels I imagine) - has yours got the 18" - is it still crashy, do u know if u could go higher in profile (dont mind going down one side in width) thx :)
i have a gt200 its done a 103000 miles thrashed hard for 12 years and it doesnt rattle or creak everything works. yes has had some big maintaince but loved every mile ive driven in it. just had a timing chain fitted its firm and the gears notchy and the turn in is what makes the rcz especially in the gt200 and gives it the character the Audi tt lacks. its a car you always want to drive the long way home........ also every car they made peugeot lost a lot of money on , the expensive body panels being a big part of it and that rear windscreen cost a fortune to make
Bought mine rcz 10 years ago.200 hp remapped to 240. Some small issues like brokeN front suspension, broken springs ,rusty front rotors but no big problems. All replaced .Super fast great enjoyable handling.got my own private repair garage doing all maintage myselfe.keeping her totally rust free not a spot of corrosion anywhere. 60000 km still looking brand new from the dealer. GREAT LITTLE MOTOR😊
My brother has gave me his one he’s owned it for many years still everything looks so new if never owned a peugout but so far I’m very very happy with it
The hairdressers model THP 156 automatic 38k. Oil changes 5k not 10k as per manual, cooling problems constant from thermastat to waterpump replacement might only be good for 40k, timing chains stretch in as low as 40k. engine is direct injection so carbo cleaning might be needed if driven on short trips. Otherwise parts are cheap (308) labour expensive, so DIY advisable. Engine life expect 130k miles from petrol models , diesel can go for over 250k miles
Great cars. I have the limited edition RCZ R and it’s a fantastic bit of kit. With 270 bhp, lsd and only £130 per year tax what’s not to like. Engineered by Peugeot sport it’s set up so well and so quick yet will return 40-50mpg on a run. Looks like you are reviewing some of my car collection, 407 coupe now the RCZ.!
Do the make peugeot cars with the steering wheel on the left side besides this peugeot on the video that I guess is for Indian market that has the steering wheel on the right? It's a beautiful car that I am interested in bringing a couple of them in the US!
This is a British review, therefore it is right hand drive. Peugeot is a French brand and much like the rest of Europe, they drive on the right and therefore there are far more left hand drive examples in the world. You can import them once they turn 25 years old as I believe that is the USA law on importing foreign cars.
@@sjm.photos I actually have the diesel. Love it and has been nothing but reliable. I wanted the looks but not the unreliable engine taken out of the Mini!
@@donutdemon1 ive trashed mine over 100000 miles. the gt200 is uprated over the mini cooper s engine so should be reliable a friend has the same as me and has over 145000 miles on his
Is the engine which is just a piece of shit in terms of reliability, I recommend first the 2.0hdi and second the R that is basically the real.deal with 270hp and is reliable. I saw someone that remapped the 2.0 hdi from 163hp to 200hp... Making it more enjoyable
Got a 2.0L HDI remapped 200hp since 2011. Great car. I love it and never had any problem. But DO NOT BUY ONE!!! Peugeot is getting totally crazy on spare parts prices and often does not sale the tiny broken plastic part but rather the whole thing like for example the whole mirror with motors and... or the whole roof arch when just the rubber seals need replacement (1500€ per arch). An other example; this summer my RCZ's sealing fabric started to detach and hang. Nothing to get annoyed of, she's an old lady. This is the classic pressed in shape, cardboard type sealing with fabric glued on it. Peugeot sales it 1500€ !!! Of course you could argue that the solution is to buy second hand parts; but very few RCZ where sold so second hand parts are often hard to find and when you manage to find them, they are expensive because rare. My advise is: DO NOT BUY ONE AND CERTAINLY DO NOT BUY A PEUGEOT IN 2024. You should have bought an RCZ phase 1, 2.0L, HDI, 13 years ago it was a great deal at the time.

yer 674000 audi tts vs about 60000 rcz and loads have been written off now so numbers are dropping
The engine is very unreliable, as I have experienced
out is I treat what one did you have , 156 or 200 or 270 ??

Is the petrol more prone to issues then the diesel? I’m reading it is but not mechanical minded unfortunately 😮

Meu Rcz tem 47 mil km e fundiu😢o motor eu cuidava tão bem dele😢
Lovely motor .. great value compared too. I’m looking at red carbon ltd edition at the mo but need to checked over 1st
brilliant Review. i have a 2010, we love it, once the engine had a bit of maintenance , keep the oil topped up.
Thanks
Only buy the R or the diesel one
The best advice !!!

Overpriced piece of crap. Buy one used and be pre prepared to spend tons of money to keep it running, garbage, that's why it's discontinued
Overpriced? My GT200 was £8k. More recent cars will cost you even MORE to maintain as they get older to the age these cars are.
Are you talking about your wife Tony?
